[First lines. The episode opens in a forest as the camera pans down to Ash, Misty and Brock who are walking in the fog]
Once again, our heroes have left the comforts of Pallet Town behind them. Their sights set on a new goal. Now, Ash and his friends are heading for New Bark Town, and the Johto League. Well, maybe.
[pointing ahead] Pika, Pika. ("Look up ahead.")
What, Pikachu? [Looks up and sees a branch above him] Yeah, that branch looks familiar.
[collapses] Now we've been walking around in circles all day! You said you knew where we were going and we're totally lost, now! Where do we go?!
Well, if you're so smart, why don't you be the one to decide?!
[stands up] That's a good idea. I'll find a way out of here.
[The camera cuts to Ash who is standing with his arms folded. He then walks up to Misty]
Come on, Misty, let's go. We're waiting for your directions.
Don't rush me, Ash! I just have to think!
Well, this is gonna be a brand new experience for you.
[yells at Ash] WE'RE NOT LOST 'CAUSE OF ME!
Hey! Yelling never solves anything, so just calm down! You two have to learn to be more mature like me.
[Then, a strange creature catches Togepi's senses]
Toge. [Jumps out of Misty's arms] Toge, Togepi!
[Pikachu goes after Togepi]
Pikachu! Pikachu! [Starts pursuing Pikachu and Togepi] Ohhh! [He, Pikachu and Togepi see the glowing blue figure of a creature]
[The title card comes up]
[voiceover] Don't Touch That 'Dile.
[referring to the escaped Totodile, whose jaw is clamped down on her hair] This thing's becoming a big headache!
Jessie, just think of it as a Pokémon hair extension.
[stomping several times] I DON'T FIND THIS FUNNY! My hair is gonna come out of the roots if this doesn't let go of me!
[As Jessie tries to swing Totodile off from her hair, Meowth goes over to a nearby phone booth]
I'm calling the boss to tell him we got ahold of a new Pokémon, or it got ahold of you. [The phone booth door closes in his face, knocking him back] Wargh! Wargh! [Hits the ground] What was that for?!
I know how you operate, Meowth, and if you make the call, you'll take all the credit.
I don't think I like the implication of your accusation! [Thinks back to when he, Jessie and James got blasted off in the past] Is it too much to ask after enduring enough humiliation to last nine lives for me to be the one to call the boss to bear him these good tidings? [Returns to the present] I may be a Pokémon, but for your information, I've still got feelings and I wanna make that call!
Let me remind you that I took all the risk in stealing this thing, so I should get the reward! Now, I'm telling you to get out of my hair and let me make that phone call!
[As Meowth and Jessie argue, James walks into the phone booth and prepares to make the call to Giovanni]
I ain't in your hair! That's the Totodile, and it's obviously putting a big strain on your brain!
[angrily] At least I have a brain, you halfwit!
[James put a coin in the operator]
[off camera] Half a wit is better than none!
[off camera] How dare you?! [starts beating up Meowth on camera]
[James then realizes something, which causes Jessie and Meowth to notice him in the booth]
By any chance, do either of you remember the boss' area code?
[Jessie and Meowth stumble in disbelief, take James out of the phone booth and start beating him up]
Yeah! That's the spirit, Casey!
Er, Brock, aren't we supposed to be on Ash's side?
I usually root for the underdog cos the underdog is usually Ash.
I didn't think of that. Destroy 'em Casey!
Ash [annoyed]: Some friends they are.

Oh I forgot to mention, since I'm the one who raised it, this Hoothoot only gets along with pretty girls.
Oh, is that right Hoothoot? Do you like pretty girls?
Too bad there aren't any here.
[Misty and Hagatha glare at Ash with demon-like expressions while Hagatha growls]
What did you say Ash Ketchum?!
Would you mind coming with me?
Oh boy, where should we go Officer? For a romantic stroll in this beautiful urban oasis?
You don't get it; I'd like you to come down to the station so I can fill out a report.
Great, but it sure is an unusual first date.
[Ash and Misty groan]

Team Rocket, prepare for trouble! On second thought, make that double!

Maybe you think I'm a little too brash, but the Master is here, and the name... [turning towards the Team Rocket Trio] is Ash!
[Ash, with a large Poké Ball in the background, poses with one in his outstretched arm.]
My Pokémon Team is faster than light! So surrender now, or you're in for a fight!
[grunts as she pushes Meowth to the floor] [to Ash] How dare you mangle our motto?

All right Pikachu, hit 'em with a Thunderbolt!
[Pikachu releases a Thunderbolt on Team Rocket, now fried to a crisp, the machine explodes, sends them flying]
We're blasting off again!
[Meowth holds up a round object with a happy expression]
What are you so happy about? What's that thing you've got there?
It's just an old lawn ornament, there's a bunch o' neat stuff over in that field an' it's all round...
Small minds are easily amused.
[Jessie and James are sending out their Pokémon to battle Ash and crew.]

This line was recorded in protest of 4Kids' decision to give their voice work to Leo Burnett Worldwide, which enabled them to not have to pay voice actors for Pokémon commercials. This, according to James' actor Eric Stuart, indirectly revoked his health care plan, and as a result, the line was recorded and inserted into this episode.
