[reading note near the Gym entrance] I regret I'll be away for the fashion show.
I was just reading something about that. [flips through her magazine] Here it is, it's close by! Awww...let's go! It's a chance to see Elesa in her very own fashion show! Wow! [dashes off to the fashion show]
Well, without a Gym Leader, I guess I'm stuck.
I know! Why don't we go too? Learning about a Gym Leader before you battle might be good thing.
[As Elesa is showing off her new outfits on the runway...]
[At this point, Elesa turns her attention to Ash and pals.]
Huh? I'm tingling all over! [She leaps off the runway and meets the heroes face to face.]
A Pikachu! Never seen one up close! Wow, you shine like the sun! Is this your Pikachu?
[Ash's Palpitoad loses against Elesa's Emolga]
[horrified] You can't be serious! I was going to win every battle with you! [sadly recalls Palpitoad]
[baffled] Ash's strategy was just Palpitoad?
Well, if I have to guess, yes.
[Both Snivy and Emolga's Attract cancel each other out as they are both females!]
[surprised] You're right! By any chance, does your Snivy happen to be a female?
[looking completely embarrassed] Argh, of course! I totally forgot!!
[Cut to Iris, Cilan, Pikachu and Axew with disbelieving expressions and face-fault.]
Iris [eyebrow twitching]: How many times will it take for Ash to learn that Attract doesn't work between girls!?
Good question, although this is Ash after all!
[Pikachu and Axew sitting with their backs against each other, sweatdropping]
Pika-Pikachu... [My trainer is an idiot!]
[It gets worse...]
So who cares? Electric-type moves aren't very effective on Grass type Pokemon anyway.
Elesa [smiling indulgently]: I think you've forgotten something, Ash.
Emolga may be an Electric-type, but remember it's a Flying-type as well.
That's right! Flying-type moves are super effective against Grass-types...[freaks out immediately] OH MAN, SNIVY'S A GRASS-TYPE POKÉMON!! [Really Ash? How can you screw up this BAD?!]
Hi! I'm Ash Ketchum. Will you have a battle with me?
HEY, COOL YOUR JETS! ALDER'S BATTLING ME FIRST!
IT'S FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!
[Ash and Trip struggle on who will battle Alder first]
The price of things. Now, just relax. I'll battle both of you!
[One day, some Pidove are flying in the sky as the camera pans down on a Pokémon Centre]
En route to Ash's next gym battle challenge in Driftveil City, our heroes have stopped at a Pokémon Centre for a bit of rest.
[Inside the Pokémon Centre, Ash is petting Pikachu]
Pika! [Squeals contentedly] Pikachuuu.
True. It's a pleasure to witness a perfect match between Trainer and Pokémon.
Okay. [Touches the zip on his backpack]
Huh? You want more? Okay, buddy. You asked for it. [He laughs as he tickles Pikachu on the head]
How's that? Gotcha! Gotcha! Gotcha!
RRobert
[pointing to Pikachu] Check that out.
[A photographer named Robert has arrived]
RRobert
Tell me, is that your Pokémon?
RRobert
Can I take a picture?
RRobert
Great, thanks. [Takes some photographs of Pikachu with his camera] Perfect. Amazing. It's a real Pikachu.
RRobert
Priceless. [The camera cuts to Ash and then pans down to Pikachu] Uh... Awesome.
RRobert
There. The perfect shot. [Takes another photo of Pikachu]
My name's Katharine. Gothita and I are travelling together on a Gym Battle journey.
Goth? Goth! [Really? Oh, right!] [runs around behind Katharine and pulls out her Unova Gym Badge case from her bag.] Gothita! [Behold our progress!] [The two badges shown are the Basic Badge and the Insect Badge. Katharine must have defeated Lenora and Burgh off-camera.]
You've got two Gym Badges! Cool!
Thanks alot. Are you on a journey for Gym Badges too?
So, how many do you have?
[whips out his badge case and shows off his four Gym Badges] See, I've got four of them.
Awesome! That's two more than I have.
[Gothita uses her Psychic to summon Katharine]
Goth-Gothita! [I want Scraggy on our team!] [Katharine is still confused, so Gothita impersonates Scraggy]
Goth-goth! [We should trade one of our members for Scraggy.]
Do you mean you want to trade one of my other Pokémon?
[Both Katharine and Gothita go to Ash]
Excuse me, Ash? It looks like Gothita has taken a real liking to your Scraggy. [Ash gets confused] It's true. So, would you be willing to trade Scraggy for one of my Pokémon? [Here, we go again...]
Gothita! [Please say yes!]
A trade? [Everyone else is shocked minus Scraggy who is busy eating.]
Come out, gang! [summons her Mandibuzz, Darumaka, and Deerling.] You can have your pick from any one of these wonderful Pokémon.
Gothita! [Choose wisely!]
I'm not making any trade. I wanna raise the Pokémon I already have and help them get stronger.
Now what do we do? We've been turned down.
Goth! Goth! Gothita! [We fight for Scraggy and it will be ours should we win!]
Oh, you mean you want to have a Pokémon battle with them and if we win, they'll trade. [to Ash] Come on, Ash, please? Gothita can be so stubborn once it makes its mind up, so if we battle and I win, will you trade with me, please?
I told you, no! Besides, Scraggy doesn't have that much battle experience. [And you wonder why he failed to become a Scrafty.]
You don't have to use Scraggy. As far as I'm concerned, you can choose any Pokémon you want.
Uhhh...no thanks, I'll pass on that. [Gothita gets annoyed. One glare is enough to have Katharine act rude towards Ash]
I see. I guess that means you don't think you can beat me.
Say what you want, you're just afraid of losing.
And you call yourself a Pokémon trainer, do you? Turning down an innocent Pokémon battle challenge. Pathetic, isn't it, Gothita? [Gothita agrees. Don't try to imitate Paul, Katharine.] You know what? I bet your badges are all fakes and you made them yourself, didn't you, Ash? It's okay, you can admit it.
I did not! I earned each and every one of them with my Pokémon battling hard!
In that case, why don't you relax and accept my battle challenge? After all, you've got four whole badges! [And yet, you have two!]
Alright then! I'll battle with you!
