PikachuPikachu!
PikachuPi, pi, pi. [Three, two, one.]
[Pikachu opens up it's eyes and gives Ash a heads-up about the Future Sight attack]
PikachuPika-pi! Pika-pika! [Ash, the Future Sight is coming now!]
[Ash and Pikachu are being chased by a flock of Spearow. He steals the bicycle of a young girl, later known as Misty, to flee the Spearow, but he eventually rides off a cliff, falling off of the bike, with the Spearow still in hot pursuit. Ash then persuades Pikachu, who became weak after the trip, to enter his Poké Ball, but to no avail. This gives Ash no choice but to muster up the guts to take on the Spearow himself]
Spearows, do you know who I am? I am Ash, from the town of Pallet. I'm destined to be the world's number-one Pokémon Master. I can't be defeated by the likes of you. [Pikachu, hearing Ash's speech, starts to pay attention to his Trainer's bravery as he continues on] I'm going to capture and defeat you all. You hear me? [the Spearow hone-in on Ash in the final moments before their attack, leading him to plead one last time for Pikachu's safety] Pikachu, go inside the Poké Ball; it's the only way. [Pikachu looks down at the Poké Ball, and then back at him. A lightning bolt strikes behind the Spearow] Come and get me! [as the Spearow charge in toward him, Pikachu starts running toward him, climbing onto his shoulder, and jumping off Ash's shoulder to counter the Spearow] Whoa!
Pikachu[a lightning bolt strikes him] Pika-CHU!
WHOA!
[He releases a powerful Thunder Shock, dispersing the Spearow and creating a large explosion in the area]
[Last lines; In the aftermath of Pikachu's act of defense toward Ash, the rainy night turns into a sunny morning. The camera shows Misty's bike that Ash took to escape the Spearow flock, revealing that said bike was destroyed by Pikachu's Thunder Shock, and the camera pan toward an unconscious Ash and Pikachu, and the two of them slowly wake up]
Pikachu[weakly] Pikachu.
[breathes a sigh of relief] Well, we beat 'em.
Pikachu[in agreement] Chu.
[In the sky, a large golden bird-like Pokémon, which later was revealed as the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh, cries out as it flies over Ash and Pikachu as a sign of amazing things to come]
Huh? [notices what he doesn't yet know to be Ho-Oh as it flies off towards a rainbow, leaving a trail of sparkles] What's that?
There is no data. There are still Pokémon yet to be identified.
[Ho-Oh is seen one last time flying off into the bright blue sky]
This is just the beginning of the amazing adventures of Ash and Pikachu. Their journey is destined to be packed with non-stop action, millions of laughs, heart-pounding perils, and endless excitement. [Ash, holding Pikachu, stops at the top of a hill. Pikachu then licks Ash's face, which moves him to near tears. However, he holds them in, as he realizes he must get to a Pokémon Center to heal Pikachu's wounds as soon as possible] Together, they'll encounter fantastic friends, evil enemies and meet creatures beyond their wildest imagination, and as their story unfolds, we'll unlock the magic and mystery of a most wondrous place: the incredible world of Pokémon!
[The screen shrinks to the left, then stops moving. The text "TO BE CONTINUED" appears.]
Hey Ash, are you sure it's okay if I go with you on your Pokémon journey?
Sure I'm sure, the more the merrier! And it's good to have somebody to talk with.
Well, what about that girl who keeps following you?
DON'T FORGET ABOUT MY BIKE, ASH KETCHUM! I'M GONNA FOLLOW YOU UNTIL YOU PAY ME BACK!
I know! I KNOW! Pikachu, let's try to lose her!
PikachuChu! [runs with Ash]
[catching up] Wait up, Ash!
[chasing after them] YOU WON'T GET AWAY!
[All Pokémon are speaking in Pokémon language, with English subtitles translating their speech]
Maybe they got eaten by wild Pokémon. [makes a scary face with razor-sharp teeth, making a chomping motion]
PikachuDon't say things like that!
Yeah, cut it out!
Sorry.
Though she was very young, Sabrina became completely obsessed with her psychic training. She didn't want to make friends. all she wanted was to be left alone to develop her powers! Her parents tried to help, but Sabrina used her psychic powers to drive them away. The conflict caused Sabrina to split into two girls. The strong Pokémon Trainer who was always causing trouble, and the lonely little girl who desperately desires to make friends! That doll that Sabrina always holds represents her true self, before her training. Of course, she rejected her own heart!
Sabrina had this picture of her family in her room. If you have the same picture, then, that must mean you are...
Huh?! [thinks] Does he know? He must have figured it out by now. After everything I said, he must have figured out the truth about Sabrina and me. He must realize that I'm Sabrina's Father!
...Then, that must mean you are a photographer.
[face faults] Whoa!
PikachuPika!
Don't you see?! Don't you get it?!
Get what?
Never mind...
Sabrina turned Brock and Misty into dolls.
Yeah, there's nothing we can do about that.
Huh?!
The only way to rescue your friends is to defeat Sabrina. Isn't that why you traveled to Lavender Town, to get a Ghost Pokémon?
But Haunter has disappeared someplace.
Then, you must find Haunter first. Without it, you'll never be able to defeat Sabrina and her Psychic Pokémon.
I guess not...
Venonat? It's you! I'm gonna teach you a lesson! [runs up to it, but it jumps back through the door it came out of] Come back! [enters through the door, but screams upon seeing spinning projectiles flying towards him]
[react upon hearing the projectiles hit the wall and are concerned about Ash] Ash!
PikachuKachu! [Ash!]
[Misty, Brock, and Pikachu enter the door, but they find an empty room and cannot find Ash.]
Where is he?
There must be another way out.
Maybe it's just another trick.
[The door soon turns around to reveal Ash pinned to the wall by multiple shurikens, much to their surprise.]
Someone help me...
[cackles and jumps down from the ceiling] Born in darkness, living in darkness, such is the fate of the ninja. I am Aya, ninja warrior!
[about Aya's uniform color] But don't you think that color is a little bright for a ninja?
I don't need your fashion report! But tell me, didn't you enjoy my little star treatment? [reveals her shuriken]
You can't just chuck throwing stars around. It's dangerous!
That's right! Tell her, Brock!
[However, Brock wasn't listening and approached Aya.]
[lovestruck] I think that electric pink suits you perfectly, and you certainly look lovely. [but Aya responds by slapping Brock's hand, much to Ash and Misty's shock and embarrassment]
[pushes Brock away] This is a training camp! It was your fault you let your guard down.
[offended] My guard down?
I won't let you leave this mansion without having a Pokémon battle with me, first. [her Venonat appears behind her]
[shrugs] Oh, that thing!
This Venonat informed me that three stupid-looking people had entered the mansion.
For your information, we're not the stupid ones around here! I accept your challenge! [suddenly remembers he's still stuck] Uh, but first, could you let me down from here?
[Everyone face faults in embarrassment. Soon, Ash is freed from his predicament and takes his place on the battlefield.]
One Pokémon for each of us. Choose yours now.
[Last lines; the Pikachu cheer]
What do you think they're doing?
Well, I think they might be cheering. For Ash and for Pikachu!
[Pikachu runs up to Ash, who smiles tearfully]
Pikachu[leaps up to him] Pikapi!
Pikachu!
[They embrace joyfully]
Another adventure has brought Ash and Pikachu even closer. In their hearts, they know they'll go on to face every challenge together.
You bumped into him?
That must've been when the backpacks were switched?
How could this happen? I HAD ALL THE POKEMON I EVER CAUGHT IN THAT BACKPACK!!!! [burst into tears]
PikachuPikachu.
[after Ash made a failed attempt to surf like Jan] I guess Ash must be practicing his wipeouts. Right, Togepi?
[chirps in agreement]
[climbs up to his board, but suddenly] Huh?! [his foot cramps up underwater] Ah, my foot! Something's wrong with my foot! [a wave splashes over him; meanwhile, the blue-eyed Pikachu senses what's happening and runs off] Help! Help!
[gasps upon hearing Ash's cries]
Help! Somebody! Help!
It's Ash!
PikachuPika.
[Brock rushes out to help Ash as he manages to swim to his board.]
Ash, what's wrong?
It's my foot! [screams as a large wave crash over him]
Ash? Look out!
[But before Brock can do anything, an even bigger wave head toward Ash.]
Oh, no! That wave!
[Before the wave comes down on an unconscious naked Ash, the man from earlier rescues him on a surfboard with his Pikachu on the nose of the board, to the surprise of our heroes.]
Puka, pipeline!
Chu! [Right!]
[Puka tilts the board so that it heads to the pipeline of the wave.]
Puka, shoot the curl!
Pika! [Oh, yeah!]
[The two shoot the curl and get Ash to shore and safety, while Ash, who is naked, wakes up briefly and sees what he thinks to be Pikachu in front of him.]
Pika...chu? I am... naked... [passes out]
Ash [shouts in excitement] Yee...HAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWW!!!!!!
Ash, are you going crazy?!
The answer is yes.
Pikachu[exasperated] Pika... [Togepi, having being scared by Ash's outburst, bawls loudly]
Now, just look what you did to Togepi. [shakes Togepi up and down] Oh, it's all right, little Togepi.
[stops crying] Togepri.
Sorry, Misty.
[at the beginning of the episode, Ash is moping around, annoyed about how his Charizard cost him the match at the Indigo Plateau...]
[thinking] Why did I have to lose?
Pikachu[worried] Pika-pi.
So, he's been laying in there by himself since he had lost the match.
Yeah, he won't even eat or anything. Will he?
Maybe he's coming down with a cold.
No, silly, he's just depressed is all.
Depressed about what?!
About the match?!
[nods his head 'yes'] I see. I think that he feels like a total loser 'cause Ritchie beat him. Did he?
He should be happy he made it all the way to the Fifth Round. I know he feels bad, but he can't just mope around forever. Can he? [opens the door and walks into the room to get Ash] Hey, Ash, let's go get something to eat.
No, thanks.
[groans] Well, how about a walk?
Go by yourself if you can.
[groans in frustration] Hey, let's go down the Pokemon village and buy some souvenirs. [tries to get Ash up from the bed] Maybe they'll have some--
[pulls away] Just leave us alone.
Suit yourself. Hey, I'm just trying to help you, Ash.
[sits up] Well, I don't want your help.
You big baby!
[stands up from the bed] Just get out.
OK. I'll leave you alone.
Pikachu[tries to calm them down] Pika-pika!
[Brock and Delia run in]
Okay now, that's enough, guys.
You mustn't be angry with Misty, honey. She thinks you should be very happy.
Well, why?
With the way you were training, you are lucky we even made it through the First Round.
Oh, yeah? Well, I didn't see you out there winning any of those matches.
When are you gonna get over yourself, Ash?
Why don't you?
Why don't I what?
Pikachu[tries to calm them down] Pika...
[restrains Ash] Okay, that's it.
Thank you for saving me, Brock.
PikachuPika...
[walks in] I'm afraid Misty has a point, Ash.
Huh? I see.
Maybe you could've gone much further if you haven't been so sure of yourself and you trained your Charizard properly.
But, sir, I...
One could only advance so far relying on strength and intuition. Trainers must learn to battle with a deeper understanding of each Pokémon's natural abilities.
Uh... Hmm...
That isn't easy, especially for some lazy Trainers.
Are you calling me lazy?
I didn't call anybody anything. I was talking to Pikachu.
I said I didn't, and I didn't!
I said you did, because you did!
I didn't!
You did!
Did not!
Did too!
Did too!
You did not!
PikachuPika, Pika! (Quiet, you two!) [he shocks everyone]
Don't shock us, too!
Thank you, Pikachu.
[The episode opens on a footpath as the camera pans up to reveal that the footpath actually leads to Pallet Town]
After battling in the Pokémon League competition at the Indigo Plateau... [The camera fades to outside Professor Oak's Laboratory where a party is about to start] ...Ash and his friends return to Pallet Town for a hero's welcome.
[We see Ash, Pikachu, Professor Oak and Delia standing on a yellow table, holding drinks. Misty and Brock, meanwhile, are standing on the grass and holding their drinks]
Uh, I'm very happy to be back in Pallet home, and to everybody who supported me throughout the Pokémon League, I just want to say "thank you very much."
PikachuPikachu.
And thanks to Ash for representing us so well.
And we all owe Professor Oak a big thank you for hosting us here today. Now, let's start the party!
First, let's salute Ash for finishing in the top 16 at the Pokémon League, and doing Pallet Town proud! Hip hip...
Hooray!
[Ash crouches down to Pikachu]
Thank you, too, Pikachu. And all the Pokémon. [Clings glasses with Pikachu]
PikachuPika!
[The title card comes up]
[voiceover] Pallet Party Panic.
[Soon, everyone is eating as Brock bites into a bit of chicken]
[with his mouth full] Mmmm, Pallet Town really knows how to throw a party! [Eats a bit of his candy stick] The food is delicious!
Hey, guys, we shouldn't be the only ones celebrating, why don't we let our Pokémon join the party, too?
Good idea! We couldn't have gone to the Pokémon League without them.
PikachuPikachu.
[With his mouth full] You're right. Geodude, Onix, Zubat, Vulpix, it's time to come out and chow down! Aaaah, ah!
Goldeen, Staryu, Psyduck, you're invited, too! Go!
[Brock and Misty's Pokémon come out of their Poké balls]
Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Pidgeotto, join the party! [Sends out Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Pidgeotto]
Squirtle.
Bulbasaur.
Chariza... [Brock and Misty stop him] Ahh!
Think about this first, Ash!
Letting Charizard out is not such a great idea, Ash!
But, I... [Thinks back to when Charizard disobeyed him, breathes fire at him and napped during the Indigo League, thus costing Ash his match in Round 5 and letting Ritchie win. Then, Ash returns to the present] OK, OK. I'll invite Charizard next time.
Okay, everybody! Time to dig in!
[The Pokémon join in as Psyduck trips up]
Psy!
Bulba. Bulbasaur. [Walks over Psyduck]
[The camera cuts Staryu, Goldeen, Geodude and Squirtle]
Geodude.
Squirtle, Squirtle.
[Pidgeotto and Zubat join them. The camera cuts to Brock and Misty]
Ash must be really proud.
I think he's grown up a lot since being in the Pokémon League. Don't you? Huh?
Huh?
Where's Ash?
[Ash and Pikachu are running as they run past some of the partygoers]
Let's eat fast so we can eat again! [Laughs]
PikachuPikachu.
[sighs]
