[One day, Brock is cooking up lunch and Pikachu and Piplup are already smelling it. The camera cuts to a high cliff by a river where at the top, Ash and his friends are having lunch]
NNarrator
With the Eterna City Pokémon Contest and tag battle behind them, our heroes set their sights on Veilstone City and Ash's next gym battle.
Come on, Brock. Lunch ready yet?
[yells at Ash] IT'D BE DONE A LOT SOONER IF YOU'D HELP OUT A LITTLE!
Brock's right, you know. Do something. [Lays out the towel]
Fine. [Sends out his Pokémon] Hey, guys? Let's help them out!
ASAsh's Pokémon
Yeah!
Cool. Great idea. Let's go, everyone! [Sends out her Pokémon]
It's lunch for 12. [Sends out his Pokémon]
[The camera cuts to Dawn laying out a pink blanket with Turtwig and Staravia while Chimchar watches)
Now, spread it out nice and flat.
[Chimchar turns to Brock cooking the lunch and giving a bowl of soup to Sudowoodo. Meanwhile, Ash is handing out the tins of Pokémon food like he has done for Pachirisu and Buizel while Happiny and Buneary place the bowls on the blanket. Pikachu and Piplup are helping organise the table but then, Chimchar starts remembering the times when Paul used to feed him]
Hurry up. [Chimchar starts eating his food] We're way behind on training.
Chimchar? Hey, what's wrong? '[The camera cuts to him eating his soup at the table] You must be hungry. Go ahead and eat. [Pets Chimchar] Oh, man. No one makes a great lunch the way Brock does. [Eats some soup] Man, is this good!
[Gligar and Buizel are having a stare-down]
NNarrator
As our heroes continue the Sinnoh region trek toward Hearthome City and Ash’s next Gym battle, we find a very motivated Gligar prompting a round of special training.
Gligar, you’re in the thick of it. Use your eyes and show that winning glare!
[steps forward] Gli! [gasps once noticing Buizel’s evil smirk and growl]
[tears up and starts begging] Gli, Gli, Gli...
Well, that’s not gonna work. Gligar, you can’t give up before you start.
[embarrassed] Pika, Pika.
Gligar, now! Use X-Scissor and keep it going!
[powers up] Gligar! [uses several X-Scissors on Buizel, who dodges them easily]
Now, Buizel, use Aqua Jet!
[Buizel starts using Aqua Jet, intimidating Gligar so much that it clings onto Ash’s face, just before the Aqua Jet hits them both]
Gligar, what’s wrong with you?!
[Gligar starts looking at the ground, tearing up and squeaking]
Ash, wait. Getting mad like that will just depress Gligar even more.
[slightly annoyed] Well, yeah, but still...
Cheer up, Gligar. No need to worry. You’ll just try a little harder next time and you’ll be wonderful.
Man, I don’t want Gligar to get spoiled.
On the other hand, treating Gligar harshly isn’t going to get you very far either, right?
...Yeah. Okay, Turtwig, come out and gimme a hand! [sends in Turtwig]
Now, Turtwig. Energy Ball!
[starts forming the Energy Ball] Tur...
Gligar, if you don’t pay attention, you won’t be able to dodge.
[fires the Energy Ball at Gligar] Turtwig!
Now use Steel Wing right from where you are!
[hesitates] Uh? [uses Steel Wing] Gli! [pauses mid-dive once meeting Turtwig’s determined glare and defensive stance] Uh! [suddenly powers down and starts babbling and spinning around]
[turns and heads for Ash] Gligar.
Look out! [runs away with Pikachu in tow] Come on, Gligar, not over here!
Of course, NOW Gligar can fly straight as an arrow.
[pointing towards Turtwig] Your opponent’s back over there! [Gligar closes in and lands on Ash’s face] Ah! [removes Gligar from his face] What're you thinking?! [Gligar whimpers] You’re gonna have to stop crying and start toughening up. Let’s try it once more.
[From behind a bush, Team Rocket is eavesdropping the heroes]
Best wear a helmet when Gligar calls.
[laughs] I just thought of the perfect way to utilize that head-hugger.
I’m sensing a scene change.
[Begin boss fantasy]
NNarrator
"Although our heroes can breathe a sigh of relief now that Pachirisu is back to good health, the responsibilities of being a good trainer have given Ash and Dawn something to think about and act on as their Celestic Town journey contin--"
[cuts off] "We forgot Gliscor!"
[Everyone groans in disbelief. Back on the road to the cabin, Gliscor continues to hop back home]
"Gliscor." [collapses; angrily] "SCOOORRR!!"
[The title card comes up]
[voiceover] Stopped in the Name of Love!
[The camera gives us a panoramic view of Sandalstraw Town as it pans left and then fades to the local Pokémon Centre]
NNarrator
As Dawn excitedly prepares for her newly discovered upcoming Pokémon contest in Sandalstraw Town, our heroes find shelter at a quaint nearby Pokémon Centre...
All right, everybody - come on out! [Her Pokémon, minus Piplup, come out of their Poké Balls] We're closing in on our fifth ribbon so let's train like there's no tomorrow!
[Dawn's Pokémon cheer but then, Piplup tries to fly but falls on the ground]
Hey, are you feeling all right?
Pip. [Shakes his head] Pip-lup. [Stands up but goes out of control] Pipee-lupee...ee! Piplup! [Sits on the ground again]
You've been acting strange lately. Are you certain you're all right?
Aargh! Look out, look out, look out, look out! [Runs into Ash whose hat goes flying into the sky]
Oof! [Lands on the ground]
[Ash's hat lands on his head]
What do you think you're doing? I'm gonna make you pay a fine for that. [Sees Ash] Huh - aah! [Points to Ash] It's you, Ash!
[Kenny arrives]
Hey, there, Dee-Dee, long time.
Obviously, you're gonna enter the Sandalstraw Contest too, right, Dee-Dee?
Look, you better stop calling me Dee-Dee or else!
Huh? Just a cotton-pickin' minute - are you trying to say you two know each other?
You know Kenny too, Barry?
Of course. Best buddies... [Turns to Kenny] Right?
Yeah, although we just met each other now for the first time.
See, I just found out both Kenny and I are from Twinleaf Town, so that means we're practically like brothers. The deal is, Kenny's going to enter the contest and then I'll enter Pokémon Ping-Pong for a double win. We're going to do some special training.
You don't know what that is? Let me see if I've got it... [Gets out a poster which promotes the Pokémon Ping-Pong tournament] Yeah, here. You see, they're holding ping-pong after the contest, and all the strongest competitors are going to be there.
I remember reading about this at the Pokémon Centre. It's double ping-pong where trainer and Pokémon form a team.
[The episode begins at Lake Acuity the morning after the full battle, where Uxie's silhouette briefly appears from under the lake, then vanishes. At the Pokémon Center, all of Ash's Pokémon are seen hospitalized under the care of Nurse Joy and her Chansey and Blissey.]
NNarrator
[v.o.] In the wake of a full Pokémon battle against Paul, Ash and his struggling Pokémon are staying at the Pokémon Center on Lake Acuity to rest, heal and recharge.
[In Team Galactic's headquarters, Cyrus steps down some steps]
CCyrus
Fighting is by far the most frightful by-product of the human heart. Haven't I been telling you that time and time again?
JJupiter
But since these children pose a very real threat to our plan for a new world order, isn't it only natural to eliminate them? [Cyrus glares at her and Mars] Hm.
CCyrus
Behold! This is just the kind of accomplishment the human heart has the potential to achieve. But when your heart is ruled by emotions, you will but fight. In which case, humanity will never advance! I guess I could let you know what this is about.
CCyrus
I am part of this! Team Galactic is my creation, and you are now in my creation's headquarters.
CCyrus
Correct! We're bringing about the dawn of a new world order, so we're gathered here to discard the old world of discording conflict and make a much better one in place of it.
So, it was you who stole the Lustrous Orb from the Celestic Ruins! You lied to all of us and you lied to Cynthia, too!
CCyrus
Lose your rage. It only destroys.
No way! Not when you treat Pokémon that way! This has gotta stop! Now let them go back to their lake!
CCyrus
That can't be done. They're quite necessary for us to be able to bring forth the new world!
Then that means it's exactly as Cynthia said it was!
[Ash and Dawn growl]
CCyrus
Obviously, these children must mean something important if the Legendary Pokémon saw fit to bring them all here. We will need to keep them around until our task is completed, just in case.
[Ash, Dawn and Brock get surrounded by Team Galactic grunts, and confronted by Mars and Jupiter and their Pokémon. Then, the camera cuts to and zooms in on an the cornered trio and then, Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie who have red eyes indicating anger. It cuts to Ash who is still cross]
You won't get away with it. Who cares if you're Team Galactic? Pikachu! Thunderbolt, let's go!
Pika... [Uses Thunderbolt] ...chuuuuuu!
Pip... [Uses Bubble Beam like Dawn told him] ...lup!
[Piplup's Bubble Beam breaks the stasis cells that each Lake Guardian is trapped in]
Croagunk! [Aims at Toxicroak when the screen freezes]
NNarrator
While a powerful assault begins to take shape against the evil Team Galactic in an attempt to free the three Legendary Pokémon, will our heroes be successful in their mission? Stay tuned to find out!

Now that Gible has mastered Draco Meteor, I’m sure Piplup will be able to rest easier. Am I right?

[Paul and his Electivire approach]
Hey, Paul. So, are you fine-tuning your Pokémon?
[overseeing the two trainers] It’s Paul vs. Ash. I’m really looking forward to their battle.
NNarrator
[v.o.] And so, Ash advances to round 4: the quarter-finals, where our battle with Paul promises some red-hot excitement, so stay tuned for two longtime rivals going at it head to head.
[Cut after sunset]
Good. Noctowl and the others are all in good hands. So, waiting for your third Pokémon for tomorrow?
Right. It should be here any minute now.
[Dawn enters the Pokémon Center]
[Dawn and Ash head outside the Pokémon Center, where Brock is waiting for them]
Ash, [points at something off-screen] look!
[Dawn and Ash look up and notice a familiar shadow heading for them, much to Ash's and Pikachu's delight]
I've been waiting. Gliscor!
[eagerly licks her lips] Gli.
[The episode opens with a scene featuring Zekrom, the Deep Black Pokémon, on the top half of the screen, and Reshiram, the Vast White Pokémon, on the bottom half. The scene mixes into the world of Pokémon from space]
NNarrator
The Pokémon world. [The camera zooms in on the planet] A world teeming with the most amazing creatures imaginable... [The camera pans across the sea, some countryside and a town nearby] ...Populating the land, the sea and the air. [The screen fades to white] Wherever you may find yourself, chances are Pokémon will be there, too. [Fade to Ash's house in Pallet Town] And that includes the Kanto region's Pallet Town... [The camera cuts to Ash putting a blue and white zipping hoodie on in his bedroom] ...home to this young man... [Pikachu jumps onto Ash's shoulder] ...ten-year-old Ash Ketchum, a Pokémon trainer dreaming of one day becoming a Pokémon Master.
[Ash picks up his backpack, leaves the room and then comes back in]
Oops. Yeah! [Picks up his hat and puts it on] Mm. Pikachu, psyched?
Me too. Taking a trip with mom. Can't remember the last time we did that, you know?
Ash, Professor Oak is here to pick us up.
Huh? [His mom sorts his hat out]
[The title card comes up]
[voiceover] Cottonee in Love!
[The camera pans down from the sky to where Scraggy is lying with a Cottonee floating beside it]
NNarrator
Nimbasa City, the next step on Ash's path to the Unova League, remains the focus for our travelling heroes.
Whoa, who that's Pokémon?
That, Ash, is a Cottonee.
[Ash scans the wild Cottonee with his Pokédex]
Ash's Pokédex: Cottonee - the cotton puff Pokémon. Cottonee shoots cotton to distract its opponent when attacked, and travels around wherever the blowing wind carries it.
[Scraggy gets up and glares at Cottonee]

Cotton-ee! [Shoots some cotton puff at Scraggy]

Scraggy! Scrag, scrag, scrag! Scrag, scrag.
It's rather unusual to see a Cottonee all by itself this time of year.
[A fantasy featuring some Cottonee begins]
You see, under normal circumstances, Cottonee will gather in large groups and then happily pair up.
[The fantasy ends as Iris approaches Ash and Cilan]
So it's like a big singles get together.
[The Cottonee fantasy resumes]
Uh, I guess you could say that. Then after they've found a partner, the happy couples ride the winds as they start new lives together.
[Back in the present, Iris eats a green apple]
How romantic can you get?
Though it sounds a little less romantic with your mouth full!
Of course! So the couples are like really good buddies, right?
That's so like you. You're such a little kid!
[One day, some Pidove are flying in the sky as the camera pans down on a Pokémon Centre]
NNarrator
En route to Ash's next gym battle challenge in Driftveil City, our heroes have stopped at a Pokémon Centre for a bit of rest.
[Inside the Pokémon Centre, Ash is petting Pikachu]
Pika! [Squeals contentedly] Pikachuuu.
True. It's a pleasure to witness a perfect match between Trainer and Pokémon.
Okay. [Touches the zip on his backpack]
Huh? You want more? Okay, buddy. You asked for it. [He laughs as he tickles Pikachu on the head]
How's that? Gotcha! Gotcha! Gotcha!

[pointing to Pikachu] Check that out.
[A photographer named Robert has arrived]

Tell me, is that your Pokémon?

RRobert
Great, thanks. [Takes some photographs of Pikachu with his camera] Perfect. Amazing. It's a real Pikachu.

Priceless. [The camera cuts to Ash and then pans down to Pikachu] Uh... Awesome.

There. The perfect shot. [Takes another photo of Pikachu]
[One day, Ash and Cilan are starting a practice battle with Swadloon and Stunfisk respectively. Iris, Axew and Pikachu are watching the battle from a nearby tree stump]
NNarrator
As our heroes make their way to the Driftveil City Gym and Ash's next Gym Battle, Ash has enlisted Cilan for a practice battle.
Okay, Cilan, we'll make the first move.
Now, Swadloon, String Shot!
[But just as Swadloon uses its String Shot attack, Iris, Axew and Pikachu get blasted out of their tree stump seat. Ash catches Pikachu]
[Cilan catches Axew]
[Iris lands in front of Ash and looks behind]
[A Deino pops its head out of the rubble]
[An invisible Meloetta is flying through the seaplane that Ash, Pikachu, Iris, Axew and Cilan are on. When she sees them, she hides behind a seat and then smiles]

Etta. [She vanishes completely]
[The camera cuts to Ash and Pikachu]
Man, I want to win that Junior Cup so we can battle against Alder.
Well, not if I beat you first!
I guess we're rivals now.
Somebody you know is waiting for you in Undella Town.
[The camera cuts to the sea as the seaplane rushes past]
NNarrator
Our heroes and Cynthia are off, via seaplane, to Eastern Unova, where the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup will be held. [The seaplane goes high into the sky] What awaits them there? [The camera cuts to Undella Town, a coastal town which lies on the eastern side of the Unova region] Excitement and adventure await, and the unexpected...
[Dawn runs to the balcony of Cynthia's villa and sees the seaplane]
Look, Piplup. I wonder if that's the plane they're on.
NNarrator
...as the journey continues.
[The episode begins with the ship leaving Honey Island as Ash and his friends watch from behind the fence which has a green railing]

Continuing their cruise to the Kanto region, our heroes now leave Honey Island behind them, and head for their next adventure.
I wonder what Pokémon we'll see on the next island. I'm so psyched.
The ocean breeze is so nice. It's wonderful.
It's going to be a long ride until the next port, so we've got lots of time to enjoy.

When did you get here? I thought the ship we saw you on yesterday had left the port already.
PPorter
That's right, I'm this ship's porter. You saw my cousin Porter on yesterday's ship.
I see. It's just like Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy.
So, tell us more about that Marine Cup Tournament.
[Porter shows them Ash and his friends to the battlefield aboard the ship]
PPorter
Sure. It's where passengers engage in Pokémon battles all vying to be the top prize winner.
That sounds great. I'd like to enter!
There is no better way to evaluate a battle than while sampling the delicious breeze the ocean will serve up.
PPorter
All right, then I'll make all the arrangements. And don't miss the Ripple Collection. Mrs. Ripple's exhibit will be displayed in the ballroom for everyone to see, as soon as the tournament ends.
PPorter
Yes. Ah, that's her right over there. [Points with his hand to Mrs. Ripple, a lady who is dressed smartly in pink]
Her face looks awfully familiar to me.
PPorter
I'm sure you've seen her on TV before. Mrs. Ripple is one of the most famous gem collectors in the Unova region.
RMrs Ripple
Something wrong? Come here, Purrloin.
Purrloin? [Mrs Ripple's Purrloin walks into the scene, surprising Cilan] That's right! She's the gem collector who has a Purrloin. I knew there was a reason I remembered her.

[Final lines in the Best Wishes series. The next day, a plane touches down on the runaway at the airport. Inside the airport building, Ash, who is now wearing some new clothes for when he goes to Kalos, is standing next to Alexa and talking to his mother and Professor Oak]
All right. I'll call you when I get to the Kalos region.
Pikachu, take good care of Ash for me.
My boy, I'm looking forward to hearing all about your new Pokémon.
Huh? Mom, you're embarrassing me!
Please, Alexa. Get him to Kalos safely.
[to Ash] I'll see you soon. Take care.
Don't worry, Mom. You too.
[Later, the plane that's bound for the Kalos region is taking off as it leaves the airport. Professor Oak and Delia, meanwhile, have seen it flying off from behind a tall fence]
Well, Ash is off on another adventure.
Good luck, darling. I'll always be rooting for you. [The wind blows through her hair]
[Onboard the plane, Ash and Pikachu are sitting next to Alexa]
Kalos region, here I come!
NNarrator
And so, as Ash bids farewell to Pallet Town and the Kanto region, the Kalos region awaits, with the promise of new and thrilling adventures. With the dream of Pokémon mastery stronger than ever, Ash and Pikachu are off again as the journey continues.

Fletchling, wake up Serena for me, won't you? [Pours some lettuce into a sieve] Of course, I already tried once, but as usual once is never enough. [Puts the sieve down]
GSGrace's Fletchling
Fletchling. [Flies up the stairs and lands on the landing floor. It then peeps through the door to Serena's bedroom] Fletchling, Fletchling. Fletchling, chiii-iing! [Squeezes through the door] Ling.
[Grace's daughter, Serena, is sleeping in her bed with a Joltik doll beside her when Fletchling flies over to her and lands on her bed]
GSGrace's Fletchling
Fletch... ling!
Aaaahhhhh! [Outside the house, Grace's Rhyhorn has overheard Serena's scream]
[Back in the kitchen, Grace has finished cooking]
GGrace
Good. Looks like we're all ready.
[Back inside Serena's room, a Bulbasaur doll falls on Serena as Fletchling tries to get her attention]
GSGrace's Fletchling

[Serena wakes up and speaks severely to Fletchling]

[Serena lunges at Fletchling who then flies up and sits on her head]

[Fletchling flies out of Serena's window and over the land away from her house]

The Kalos region. Like the other regions, a beautiful place where people and Pokémon live in harmony, reflecting each other's thoughts and feelings.
[Several scenes showing how these people and Pokémon interact, including four Gogoat drinking out of a stream with farmers behind them, and a young boy in a light green short-sleeved jacket chasing a Dedenne in a city, are shown as the narrator continues to introduce Kalos]
When people smile, Pokémon smile, and when Pokémon cry, you'll find that people cry as well.
[An underwater scene showing Water-types like the Wailmer family, the Magikarp family, Lapras, and many others is shown, which the camera pans upward from to show a plane heading toward Lumiose City]
And here, a certain young man is about to arrive; a young man seeking new dreams and new adventures.
[He happens to be one Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu, who is seeking a new journey coming off his Top 8 performance at the Unova League, which fans still view it as a sick joke]
