Ladies and gentlemen, I've just been informed that there seems to be a bit of confusion as to the exact whereabouts of our torch runner. [He gasps.] This just in: it appears that an unfortunate accident has left our torch runner unable to continue! [This, of course, was courtesy of Team Rocket, who, in another failed attempt to capture Pikachu, caused the runner to sprain his ankle.]
[The crowd can quietly be heard chattering in confusion.]
They've got to use the Sacred Flame!
[A silhouette of a boy and his Pikachu bearing the torch is revealed to be none other than Ash Ketchum, who was privileged with the role after he and Gary negotiated, seemingly with Mr. Goodshow or another official.]
Delia [who is watching from home with Mimey] Oh!

Carrying the torch is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!
My stars! Now, how did Ash get that torch?!

The Sacred Ho-Oh Flame, from the same Legendary Pokémon that was said to have quelled the battle...

...restoring life to the plains and forests, is now being carried onto the Silver Stadium platform!
[Mr. Goodshow chuckles to himself and stands up as Ash is positioned to light the Sacred Flame.]
[With Mr. Goodshow, Gary and the injured runner, the rest of the semifinals competitors watching, and the crowd watching, Ash turns to the cauldron and lights it with the torch, causing the Sacred Flame to burn brightly in the night sky. The crowd erupts.]
[Mr. Goodshow walks up to the podium and clears his throat as he prepares to address the Trainers.]
Mr. Goodshow: Skillful and excited participants! Now that the Ho-Oh Sacred Flame is watching over all of you, battle with honesty, integrity, and honor, so that you will never regret a single moment of your time here!
[The crowd cheers as the camera shows Gary and Harrison standing beside each other, and Ash and Pikachu looking at each other.]
NNarrator
With Ash and Gary's help, the Sacred Ho-Oh Flame burns proudly into the sky, marking the opening of the Johto League Silver Conference! Could this turn of events be a hint of great things to come? Stay tuned!

[Ash, Brock and Misty are in the Silver Town Pokémon Center awaiting Ash's pairing for his first match in the Johto League Silver Conference Victory Tournament after tying with Jackson to advance.]
Hey, guys! The pairings for the Finals Tournament just went up!
Well, that doesn't surprise me!
[The giant monitor shows Harrison being paired up against an unknown boy for his first match.]
Let's see, where am I...?
[The camera pans over to the right, where Ash is shown versus... his biggest rival, Gary?!]
[The camera zooms in on their top halves.]
[Brock and Misty both gasp.]
ABAsh, Brock and Misty
[turning toward Gary] Huh?
Your Silver Conference experience is going to be a short one! I hope you had fun.
NNarrator
[with more enthusiasm and urgency than usual] So, the day has finally come when these two rivals must clash head-to-head, with the championship on the line! [although Ash would have a long way to go to get there if he wins]
Will Ash emerge victorious, or will Gary's prediction come true?!
[A blazing fire appears in the background of the rivals in a standoff before the "TO BE CONTINUED" text appears in the bottom left corner.]
[Ash's Heracross has just knocked out Gary's Magmar, leaving both trainers with one Pokémon down.]
I guess it's time to show 'em my best! Deal with this, Ashy Boy! Mwah! [he kisses the Poké Ball, which must mean this Pokémon means quite a lot to him...] Blastoise! I choose you!

Gary's choice for third Pokémon is Blastoise!
The same Squirtle that Gary originally received from Professor Oak? Yeah, that's the one.
It looks like Gary is anxious to finish this up here and now! Blastoise IS the most powerful Pokémon Gary has.
[Ash and Misty's Pokémon amp up their cheering, knowing of Blastoise's threat to Ash's path to victory over his rival.]

Blas...toise! [A powerful Hydro Pump is fired from its cannons, and a shot of the two Pokémon and their Trainers clashing is shown as the episode draws to a conclusion.]

[After a long boat ride, we can finally see Littleroot Town, where Ash will soon begin his journey through the Hoenn region.]
Finally, the Hoenn region! Lots of new Pokémon for me to catch, and lots of new rivals for me to battle against!

Still on his quest to become a Pokémon Master, Ash has finally arrived in the Hoenn region, where a brand new journey and many exciting new adventures await!
[Ash stares in anticipation of his newest adventure.]
[Ash and Pikachu exit the Pokémon Centre in Mauville City]
All right, Pikachu, are you ready to go to the next gym?
NNarrator
Fresh off a victory at the Mauville Gym, which earned him his third badge, Ash can't wait to get to his next battle, in hopes of qualifying for the Hoenn League.
Hey, Ash, what's the name of the next town we're going to?
Huh? [chuckles] Come to think of it, Max, I guess I'm not sure.
[disappointed] That's great.
Well, I happen to know, our next stop is Fallarbor Town.
That doesn't sound right?
[Max gets out his PokéNav]
Yeah, this says the next gym is in Lavaridge Town.
Well, if Lavaridge Town is my next badge, then that's where we're going.
Now wait just a minute, Ash! Nurse Joy said the next Pokémon Contest is in Fallarbor Town, so we're going there!
Nope, my battle's in Lavaridge Town!
BUT I'LL MISS MY POKÉMON CONTEST!
FIRST MY POKÉMON CONTEST!
Alright, settle down, you two.
We'll do both. [The camera cuts to his PokéNav which has two red dots flashing] Those two towns are almost right next to each other.
Great, then why don't we go to Fallarbor Town right now? [turns to Ash] And after that, we can head to Lavaridge Town for your gym battle.
Sounds like a good plan to me.
Okay, I know when I'm outvoted.
Then let's hit the road, you guys, and Fallarbor Town, look out!
NNarrator
Ah, the broad expanse of the universe. So infinite in its reach, so impressive in its magnitude. An imposing force... This, of course, has nothing to do with Team Rocket, as their attempt to capture Pikachu is thwarted yet again. Join us as we’re serenaded by an all too familiar refrain.
AAAAAAH! WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!
[At the noodle restaurant, Master Hamm has made some bowls of noodles for his son Kyle, and Ash and his friends]
AMAsh, Max, May & Brock
Thank you, Master Hamm. [They taste their noodles]
This is just the flavour I remember.
Of course it is, son, I'm not about to let a whippersnapper beat me at my own noodle game. [Chuckles]
[Soon, Ash and his friends have left the restaurant with Kyle and his father waving goodbye]

So, Ash and friends, having finally gotten their fill of delicious noodles, head out of Saffron City, and make their way toward their next goal, the Battle Arena.
Pikachu, are you ready to go win our next Frontier Symbol? Ha.
[One moonlit night, Ash and his friends have gotten lost in a forest]
Oh, man. We're stuck now.
And now that the sun's gone down, it's getting pretty cold, too.
Yeah, and I don't see the Pokémon Centre on the PokéNav.
Those clouds are looking mean. We'd better find some shelter and fast before the storm's on top of us.
Huh? [Sees the clouds which are covering up the moon]
NNarrator
As Ash continues his quest to become master of the Battle Frontier, it seems our heroes have come across a proverbial bump in the road.
Wha? Hey, what's up, Pikachu?
Pika, Pika. [Goes running off]
Wait! Pikachu, come back here! Where are you goin'?
[The camera pans down on May, Ash, Max, and Brock as they walk through the Kanto countryside]
NNarrator
Our heroes can barely contain their excitement and happy anticipation as they prepare to enter Brock's beloved hometown of Pewter City.
[to Brock] That Onix you were telling us about that you raised is still here, right?
Right, along with Crobat and Geodude.
And we get to see a Ludicolo too.
Your mom must be a really good cook just like you, huh, Brock?
You know, she's more of a get-out-and-see-the-world type, and not into that domestic thing. I can't remember the last time I had any of her cooking.
So why do you think it turned out to be such a super good chef?
Well, guess everybody's got to eat.
[Soon, they reach the gym in Pewter City which dramatically changed]
Your Pewter Gym is sure flashy.
It sure wasn't like this last time we were here, right, Brock?
[Final lines of the Advanced Generation series. The ferry to the Sinnoh region is travelling across the sea and aboard it are Ash and Pikachu]
The Sinnoh region. Are you ready, buddy?
[Then, a gust of wind blows Ash's hat off of his head]
[The hat is grabbed...]
[...by Aipom]
Hey, Aipom. You followed us all of this way?
Huh, Well, what do you know? So welcome aboard.
[As Aipom runs to join Ash and Pikachu, little does she know that Team Rocket are clinging on to the side of the ferry]
That twerp's gonna be toast.
As well as one Pikachu short.
This time, we're really makin'...
[A wave soaks Team Rocket. Meanwhile, Ash holds onto a railing after putting his hat back on]
Awesome! All right, Sinnoh Island, look out! You'd better get ready for us!
NNarrator
And so, true to form, our hero fearlessly sets out on a new Pokémon adventure, but as Gary promised, what kinds of Pokémon await him in the Sinnoh region, and for that matter, what kinds of battles? This new chapter of Ash's journey to become a Pokémon Master is just beginning, so stay tuned.
[As the ship sails into the distance, the text reading NEXT TIME... A NEW BEGINNING! appears]
[First lines. The camera pans up from the sea to the sun which is shining. Then, two Staraptors fly into view]
NNarrator
The Sinnoh region - a breathtaking, awe-inspiring corner of the Pokémon world, complete with an amazing array of Pokémon. [The camera cuts to some Starlys and Staravias flying near a cliff and pans down to a Magikarp and a Mantyke splashing in the sea below] Soaring through the air, gliding through the water... [Next, we see a Bidoof, a Budew and a Bibarel in a rural place] ...thriving on the land... [The camera cuts to a rural community somewhere in the Sinnoh region] ...and sharing the land with all sorts of people, working and playing together. The training, the battles!
[The Pokémon logo appears in the sky, followed by a text reading DIAMOND AND PEARL. The camera cuts to a place called Twinleaf Town and pans to a big house on the left. Inside the house, we hear a beeping sound, a Glameow sleeping on the radiator, and some trophies sitting on top of a fireplace. In one room of the house, a Starly clock is beeping at 7 o'clock, and a girl turn it off. The girl, who has just woken up, goes back to sleep and pulls the duvet over her head and tucks her feet in]

A tenth birthday is a happily anticipated milestone in many young people's lives because after that day, their Pokémon journey begins, complete with a new Pokémon as partner.
[The girl with blue hair whose name is Dawn, wakes up and opens the window in her bedroom, too cute]
NNarrator
And this young lady, Dawn, is one of those people as her tenth birthday has come and gone, and her Pokémon now waits in the wings.
[A space-themed episode title card comes up]
[voiceover] Following A Maiden's Voyage!
[Soon, Dawn is looking in the mirror and putting on her golden yellow hairclips. Her clothing is a dark gray sleeveless shirt with a dark pink shorter scarf and pink miniskirt. when she hears her mother's voice]
[from outside bedroom] Dawn, are you up?
[Her mother, Johanna, opens the door]
I had a feeling you'd wake up early today.
Mom, I'm ten years old. [Crouches down to Glameow] Morning, Glameow.
[Johanna's Glameow walks away and jumps onto Dawn's bed]
[At the start of the episode, Ash, Dawn and Brock are in a forest as Dawn tries to catch a Buneary]
This time for sure, Dawn. Go for it!
I'm so psyched. [Prepares to throw the Poké Ball that's in her right hand] Here we go!
Hold on! You got to make your Poké Ball bigger first.
Huh? [Loses control of the Poké Ball] Oh!
You'd better hurry. It'll get away.
All right. I'm ready now. Let's go, Poké Ball! [Throws the Poké Ball at Ash instead of the wild Buneary] Huh?
[when the Poké Ball hits him] Oh. [Falls onto the ground]
Ugh! Watch where you throw that thing!
It was an accident. If you hadn't been yelling at me, my hand wouldn't have slipped.
You weren't doing it right.
[Cut to Brock and Pikachu who are sitting on a rock]
[off-camera] Look, don't you get nasty with me! [While Dawn is saying this, the camera cuts to her Piplup]
[off-camera] Just get it together and I won't have to.
[Meanwhile, Buneary runs off and Piplup points it out to Ash and Dawn]

No, Buneary!
Well, I hope you're happy now.
Why not? It's your fault.
Your yapping scared Buneary away, you know!
NNarrator
Any new journey has bumps in the road. The question for our heroes seems a simple one, though. Is this a small bump in the road, or a massive pothole?
[It is the dawn of a new day somewhere in the Sinnoh region and the sun is rising]
NNarrator
It was to be a fateful day for Dawn, and a certain Pokémon named Buneary, as our heroes continue toward Jubilife City.
[Ash is waking up in his sleeping bag]
[Some Starly fly past, and Ash runs over to Dawn's tent]
Don't you dare come in here! My hair's a complete mess, and nobody sees it!
Dawn, don't sweat it. C'mon, that's what hats are for.
Well, isn't that a typical male response! Ash, unlike your who-cares-how-I-look world, I take pride in my appearance, get it?
But it's just not worth it to get nuts about hair!
Pika? [What's with Croagunk?]
[The camera pans left for Brock who is cooking some breakfast with Croagunk beside him]
See, you're witnessing a typical morning for this crazy family, but you'll get used to it!
Croag. Croag. Croag. [I suppose so.]
[The title card comes up]
[voiceover] Mutiny in the Bounty!
[The episode opens with Ash, Dawn and Brock walking up a hill]
NNarrator
Continuing their journey to Floaroma Town, and Dawn's next Pokémon contest, our heroes are about to be treated to a most amazing sight.
[The sight turns out to be a house with a cone on top and a field full of flowers]
Whoa! What a beautiful field of flowers!
Yeah, and in the bright sunlight, they look like they're on fire!
[Then, a Salamence flies above them]
[Dawn scans the Salamence with her Pokédex]

Salamence, the Dragon Pokémon. As a result of a powerful desire to fly, Salamence were able to trigger the cells in their body and cause them to grow wings.
[We see someone on the Salamence's back]
[Then we see a girl named Melodi and her Gardevoir tending to some flowers]
Wow. Someday these little flowers will bloom like crazy!

[admiring] Gardevoir.
[Then the Salamence and its rider landed down in front of them]
[The rider jumps off the Salamence to reveal to be a woman]

Ariados! [takes her Pokeball] String shot! [tosses her Pokeball]
[Her Ariados pops out and fired its String Shot and Melodi screamed as she got tied to a tree]
[Ash, Dawn and Brock run to Melodi's house]

I'll take Gardevoir. [she aims her wrist gun to Gardevoir]
[It uses Teleport to vanish]
HJHunter J
Using Teleport, eh? [she activates her goggles and looks around] Sensing Teleport location. [she got nothing till she spotted her target appearing] There we go. You should be grateful Gardevoir. Your beauty will be preserved for eternity! [she aims her gun as Gardevoir appears and then she fires]
[Gardevoir got hit]
[Gardevoir turned to stone]

Mission accomplish. Transporting target now!
[Then a truck with six wheels came out of nowhere and drove to her location as a device platform came out of it and it went under the petrified Gardevoir and sealed in in a container and it was floated inside of the truck as it drives away]
[Ash, Dawn and Brock Arrived]
[Hunter J got on her Salamence with her Ariados and flew away]
I'm alright, but please help me get Gardevoir back!
[Later, the sun is setting and outside the Hearthome City Stadium, Paul releases Chimchar]
Chimchar! Char... [Wait! Please...]
Paul? So, that's the end of all that special training?
Yeah, that's right. What's the point?
[Walking past Ash, Dawn and Brock] Obviously I need to get a new fire-type. [This is an obvious a foreshadow to his Magmar/Magmortar]
You're giving up Chimchar?
What happened to the two of you getting stronger together?
All of that progress, and you're throwing it away? [He, Ash and Dawn turn to Chimchar] Hm?
Oh...? [Walks sadly away from Ash and the others]
Pika, Pika... [He and Ash watch as Chimchar walks sadly away]
Hmm... [cheerfully] Hey, Chimchar, come with us!
Chim? [What do you want?]
[Ash, Pikachu and Turtwig go up to Chimchar]
Of course. We'll have a blast and work hard!

[Chimchar turns to Ash while Dawn and Brock watch]
