Then, at last, they were done. Whew! Just before dawn. So, they sped back to Townsville; to home with a yawn. [weaving back and forth due to fatigue, they fly in through the bedroom windows. Cut to a pan across the room; they float in, yawning and rubbing their eyes, and head straight for bed] They entered their room, for the wear no less worn, [Buttercup pulls up the blanket, and all three are instantly asleep] And snuggled into bed to await Christmas morn.
[Cut to a point near the ceiling. The Professor bounces into view, accompanied by the creaking of bedsprings]
[excitedly, on separate bounces] Girls! Wake up! Wake up! [jumping on their bed, annoying them] It's Christmas! It's Christmas! [stops jumping and bends down, laughing] He came! Santa came! Come on, come on! Let's go open the presents, come on, let's go, let's go, let's go! I think somebody might have gotten that new atom splitter they've been eyeing! [moans eagerly, clasps his hands together and chews his lip in anticipation. Next he starts jumping on the bed again] Come on, come on, come on, come on! [giggles]
[with her eyes shut] Professor, it's too early!
[with her eyes shut] We'll open presents later.
[with her eyes shut] Go back to bed!
[They lie down again; he sits at the corner of the bed, his head hanging, then shuffles disappointedly out of the room and pulls the door shut. The girls sleep peacefully for a moment]
[waking up] Wait a minute.
[waking up] What are we saying?
[waking up] Who cares if we're tired?
It's Christmas! [cut to the balcony. The Professor clumps along toward his own room and stops when he gets halfway there. Without warning, the girls streak past, jolting him out of his deep blue funk] Presents!
[He breaks into a huge smile and runs toward the stairs. Cut to just outside the lighted living room window; happy chatter is heard from inside, mixed with the sound of wrapping paper being torn off boxes. Pull back slowly to frame the entire house, with all its windows now illuminated, and stop on Santa at the curb. Fully suited up, he looks toward the family and then tips a wink to the camera. A touch of his nose, and the background for the end shot comes up in a flash]
[last lines] Now, all the nice kids of the world won't get stiffed. They'll look on with pure joy at every wrapped gift. So paper's torn open and ribbon unfurls, 'cause Christmas was saved, thanks to the Powerpuff Girls!
Gee, Professor, you sure outdid yourself with that containment ray.

[Professor Utonium has been attempting to bake cakes for a Surprise Party for the Powerpuff Girls' Birthday, with the girl's faces drawn on them in frosting. However, it's clear the first attempt at drawing with frosting has gone wrong.]
I knew this would happen! My first attempts always turn out to be disasters!
[At the same time Bubbles flies outside the laboratory door, and accidentally overhears the Professor. Concerned, she listens.]
Blossom is all crusty, Buttercup is hardly perfect, and Bubbles? Ugh! Just horrible! I should probably just make three new ones. I mean, there’s no way they could ever be good enough.
[Bubbles' eyes fill to the brim with tears. Without the context behind his statement, she assumes he's not talking about cakes, but the Girls themselves.]
[In their bedroom, Blossom and Buttercup are having a fun time playing with their toys. Right on cue, the door slams open, startling Blossom and Buttercup. They look as Bubbles screeches...]
(Completely Hysterical and Devastated) HE'S MAKING NEW POWERPUFF GIRLS!!!! [she bawls so hard she can't get a coherent sentence out] THE PROFE-HE SAID BUBBLES-HORRIBLE-AND AND AND DISASTER AND CRUSTY AND MAKING NEW...
[Buttercup slaps her once, trying to knock her back to her senses. It works]

[Bubbles calms down, although she's still quietly crying. Blossom tries to reassure her by calmly working out the situation.]
Now start over. What exactly did the professor say?
I'm trying to tell you! He doesn't want us anymore!
[Beat. Blossom and Buttercup smile, not worried, believing Bubbles didn't hear him correctly.]
(shakes her head) That’s crazy!
Have you been eating your crayons again?
I heard it with my own ears.
[Back in the Lab, the Professor is still harshly criticizing his work.]
Oh, who am I kidding? I can’t decorate cakes. The surprise party will be ruined! Oh, gosh, they’re so ugly. I knew adding that extra ingredient to the concoction was a mistake. If I’d just stuck to the original recipe of sugar and spices… (Sigh.) …well, this time I’m getting it right. This time they’ll really be perfect!
[Little does the Professor know, the girls had been eavesdropping on him, trying to prove that Bubbles was wrong. However, after overhearing and misinterpreting the professor's words, all three look crushed. They believe Bubbles was correct about them being replaced.]
[A little while later, we cut back to the girls room. Sobbing can be heard. Blossom is inconsolable, along with Bubbles, both crying. Buttercup has a look of pure anger on her face, feeling completely betrayed]
(in tears) Bubbles was right. He is making new girls!
(in tears) Why doesn't he love us anymore?
[Buttercup tries desperately to not become sad, continuing to scowl. But her shaky voice shows she's losing her composure]
(voice breaking) You heard him. He doesn't think we're perfect anymore!
[Buttercup quietly wipes away a tear in her eyes.]
And the Powerpuff Girls are soaking it all up. At the beach!
[A considerable crowd is gathered around them; none pay any attention to the Professor]
