Blossom is all crusty, Buttercup is hardly perfect, and Bubbles? Ugh! Just horrible! I should probably just make three new ones. I mean, there’s no way they could ever be good enough.
[Bubbles' eyes fill to the brim with tears. Without the context behind his statement, she assumes he's not talking about cakes, but the Girls themselves.]
[In their bedroom, Blossom and Buttercup are having a fun time playing with their toys. Right on cue, the door slams open, startling Blossom and Buttercup. They look as Bubbles screeches...]
(Completely Hysterical and Devastated) HE'S MAKING NEW POWERPUFF GIRLS!!!! [she bawls so hard she can't get a coherent sentence out] THE PROFE-HE SAID BUBBLES-HORRIBLE-AND AND AND DISASTER AND CRUSTY AND MAKING NEW...
[Buttercup slaps her once, trying to knock her back to her senses. It works]
Bubbles, get a grip!
[Bubbles calms down, although she's still quietly crying. Blossom tries to reassure her by calmly working out the situation.]
Now start over. What exactly did the professor say?
I'm trying to tell you! He doesn't want us anymore!
[Beat. Blossom and Buttercup smile, not worried, believing Bubbles didn't hear him correctly.]
(shakes her head) That’s crazy!
Have you been eating your crayons again?
I heard it with my own ears.
[Back in the Lab, the Professor is still harshly criticizing his work.]
Oh, who am I kidding? I can’t decorate cakes. The surprise party will be ruined! Oh, gosh, they’re so ugly. I knew adding that extra ingredient to the concoction was a mistake. If I’d just stuck to the original recipe of sugar and spices… (Sigh.) …well, this time I’m getting it right. This time they’ll really be perfect!
[Little does the Professor know, the girls had been eavesdropping on him, trying to prove that Bubbles was wrong. However, after overhearing and misinterpreting the professor's words, all three look crushed. They believe Bubbles was correct about them being replaced.]
[A little while later, we cut back to the girls room. Sobbing can be heard. Blossom is inconsolable, along with Bubbles, both crying. Buttercup has a look of pure anger on her face, feeling completely betrayed]
(in tears) Bubbles was right. He is making new girls!
(in tears) Why doesn't he love us anymore?
[Buttercup tries desperately to not become sad, continuing to scowl. But her shaky voice shows she's losing her composure]
(voice breaking) You heard him. He doesn't think we're perfect anymore!
[Buttercup quietly wipes away a tear in her eyes.]
