[First lines. A Fletchling flies through the kitchen window and sits on the window sill]

Fletchling.
[Its owner, Grace, is busy making some dinner]
GGrace
Fletchling, wake up Serena for me, won't you? [Pours some lettuce into a sieve] Of course, I already tried once, but as usual once is never enough. [Puts the sieve down]
GSGrace's Fletchling
Fletchling. [Flies up the stairs and lands on the landing floor. It then peeps through the door to Serena's bedroom] Fletchling, Fletchling. Fletchling, chiii-iing! [Squeezes through the door] Ling.
[Grace's daughter, Serena, is sleeping in her bed with a Joltik doll beside her when Fletchling flies over to her and lands on her bed]
GSGrace's Fletchling
Fletch... ling!
Aaaahhhhh! [Outside the house, Grace's Rhyhorn has overheard Serena's scream]
[Back in the kitchen, Grace has finished cooking]
GGrace
Good. Looks like we're all ready.
[Back inside Serena's room, a Bulbasaur doll falls on Serena as Fletchling tries to get her attention]
GSGrace's Fletchling
Fletchling, fletching. Ching, ching.
[Serena wakes up and speaks severely to Fletchling]
I've told you a million times not to wake me up like that.
GSGrace's Fletchling
Fletchling.
[Serena lunges at Fletchling who then flies up and sits on her head]
GGrace
[from downstairs] Serena!
GGrace
[from downstairs] Time for morning training!
Right! Ah, not again. [Opens her bedroom curtains and the window and looks down at Rhyhorn who is sleeping in the front garden] Morning, Rhyhorn!
[Serena stretches as a fresh breeze blows into her room]
Hope today's interesting. [Laughs]
[Fletchling flies out of Serena's window and over the land away from her house]
The Kalos region. Like the other regions, a beautiful place where people and Pokémon live in harmony, reflecting each other's thoughts and feelings.
[Several scenes showing how these people and Pokémon interact, including four Gogoat drinking out of a stream with farmers behind them, and a young boy in a light green short-sleeved jacket chasing a Dedenne in a city, are shown as the narrator continues to introduce Kalos]
When people smile, Pokémon smile, and when Pokémon cry, you'll find that people cry as well.
[An underwater scene showing Water-types like the Wailmer family, the Magikarp family, Lapras, and many others is shown, which the camera pans upward from to show a plane heading toward Lumiose City]
And here, a certain young man is about to arrive; a young man seeking new dreams and new adventures.
[He happens to be one Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu, who is seeking a new journey coming off his Top 8 performance at the Unova League, which fans still view it as a sick joke]
Yeah! We'll be on the ground soon!
Ash, you and Pikachu must be really excited.
Ash We're starting a brand-new adventure! There's nothing more exciting to a Pokémon Trainer!
[Ash's plane hits the ground, after which he exits with confidence.]
[jumping onto Ash's shoulder] Pika! Pika-pika!
Hm. [he clears his throat.] Heyyyy, Kalos Region! Ash from Pallet Town is finally here!
What's with all the yelling?
Just saying hi-ya to the Kalos Region, and as soon as I walk down these steps, we'll finally be here! Huh?
[Two Spritzee fly in front of Ash and Alexa, distracting him with excitement.]
Ah! Never seen those Pokémon before! [In the midst of his fascination, he misses the step, causing him to tumble all the way down to the bottom! He's lucky he didn't break anything...]
[Grunts as he regains consciousness, laughing off his blunder] Yeah, I'm okay.
[Viola is showing off a picture of Ash and Pikachu to Alexa]
So that's the photo you took when they were on their way here?
That's right. Isn't it a great shot?
Excellent. You can really pick up the powerful bond Ash and Pikachu have with each other.

Helioptile. [It's true, Viola.]
You're right. [gets a little disappointed] Although, their battling wasn't all that powerful.
Don't underestimate them. I wouldn't be surprised if things are quite different the next time you battle him. That's the kind of trainer Ash is. I think I'm going out for a little while. [Ask Brock, Blaine, Whitney, Brawly, Norman, Roark and Lenora about how that went, Viola. It will become a full scale reality check for you as well...]

But, where are you going? Huh?
[A flashback is shown, when a younger Serena was lost in the woods...]
Where is everybody? Where did you all go? Augh! [a Poliwag jumps out of a bush scaring her, causing her to fall and hurt her leg] I knew I didn't want to come to camp. I knew it. Mommy! [starts crying]
[Seconds later, someone comes out of the same bushes. It is young Ash.]
Poliwag? Hey, are you alright? Hi, I'm Ash. Who are you? What's wrong?
Don't worry. See this? [draws out a blue handkerchief] This will make you better. [He wraps it around her right leg] All done. Now watch this. Feel better, feel better right away!
Ow! It still hurts! I can't stand up!
[reaches his hand out to Serena] Don't give up until it's over, okay? Come on! [Serena grabs Ash's hand. As he helps her get back on her feet, she falls into him, almost like a hug. Serena starts blushing a bit.] There you go! [snickers a bit] I think we should be getting back to the campsite, okay? Come on. [Ash still holding Serena's hand leads her out of the forest. Serena still staring in awe and still blushing.]
[Note: Did Ash knew, at the time, he had met his future Kalos companion and love interest? No he did not as Serena did not mention her name to him. This is why he does not remember her when the two encountered each other again at Santalune City]
