[The doctor checks Odion's symptoms after he fell in a state of unconsciousness from his duel with Joey, while Marik posed him as himself]
So, what's the diagnosis, Doc?
DDoctor
Well so far, Odion's heart rate is steady. His tests were fine. But I'm afraid all the mental stress he's gone through has left him unconscious.
Yeah, I could use a nap, too.
TTéa
The doctor means he's been knocked out, Joey. You should be really thankful you're not in the same state.
You got a good point there. I mean, he and I were both standing right there when his Egyptian God monster went all kablooey. But I'm perfectly fine…
Aside from the brain damage you had going into it.
I guess that means we're not gonna find who this guy is until he's able to wake up.
That's right, but there is one thing we do know for sure… he was determined to protect Marik for as long as he could.
TTéa
Try and hang in there, Mai! You can do it! [Mai turns to see her invisible silhouette] We're all here for you!
[puzzled and confused; thinking] That's weird. Whose voice is that? And where's it coming from?
TTéa
What's wrong? She's not answering me, and what's with that blank stare?
[thinking] It's true! Téa's been erased from Mai's mind!
[laughs sinisterly; thinking] Cherish your memories while you can, my dear, for soon, you'll forget everyone and everything you've ever known! [speaking] All right, then... I place one card facedown... And then, I'll summon Makyura the Destructor in attack mode! Next, I'll add this all-powerful magic card-- the mystical Black Pendant! Black Pendant's dark magic raises my monster's attack strength by 500 points!
[thinking] Now Marik's monster is stronger than my Unfriendly Amazon! He's going to attack!
[The gang is in Mai's room as she lies down in her bed, after her duel with Marik when he trapped her mind in the Shadow Realm]
Joey, she's not waking up.
TTéa
She can't hear you. Marik trapped her mind in the Shadow Realm.
This tournament's gotten way out of hand! You know why?
'Cause there's a mind-warping psycho on board? [everyone looks at him] (What?) Just being honest.
You know, I gotta hand it to her… She's about to get stomped, but that Ishizu's keeping her cool.
Yeah, I'm starting to think that maybe she does know something we don't.
No way, that's just an act.
TTéa
Act or no act, she's in big trouble.
Yeah, thanks to Kaiba, most of her monsters are in the graveyard now.
Oh, no! [thinking] What if Ishizu does lose? Will the evil within Marik grow even stronger? She joined this tournament to help me defeat her brother and to uncover the good inside him. She has to win!
Your most powerful monsters are in the graveyard, and soon, the rest of your cards will join them!
I'm well aware of your plan, Kaiba.
[thinking] Seto Kaiba is so naive, believing that mere skill can lead to victory in this game. That fool must accept his ancient past in order to win!
[thinking] She has no idea what she's in for!
So, do you still think I'm gonna lose?
I do. You've played into my hands, Kaiba. Now, you’ve sealed your own fate.
Nonsense. I've heard enough of your false predictions!
My predictions are quite real. And now, you've fallen into my trap!
But how?! You're cards…they're gone!
I still have my trap cards! Reveal… Exchange of the Spirit! This trap card will be the beginning of your downward spiral toward defeat, Kaiba! At a cost of 1,000 Life Points, my trap card replaces the cards in each of our decks with those in our graveyards.
[thinking; shocked] But, that leaves me with a deck of only six cards! How could I have let this happen?!
YYugi
[thinking] By playing Exchange of the Spirit, Ishizu brought all of her powerful monster cards back from the graveyard, and destroyed Kaiba's deck at the same time!
[thinking] Ishizu hasn't lost her touch. She strung Kaiba along just as she used to string me along as a child.
Earlier, Kaiba sent almost every monster in Ishizu's deck right to the graveyard. Now, she gets them all back, along with the magic cards she lost last turn. But Kaiba's not so lucky. He had only six cards in his graveyard. Once he uses them up, his deck will be empty, and he'll lose the duel!
I believe it's my turn, Kaiba.
Very well. I summon Kelbek.
It looks like Kaiba's toast. There's no way he can turn this around with just six cards.
TTéa
He still has that Egyptian God card in his hand, doesn't he? Wouldn't he win if he played that?
Look at you with all the answers.
I'll place one card facedown. That ends my turn.
[thinking] This is MY tournament! If I lose, I'll be humiliated!
[After Kaiba has received a vision of Kisara from the Millenium Rod, prompting him to change tactics in his duel against Ishizu]
KKaiba
Observe as I activate my Magic Card, Silent Doom… Which lets me summon a card from my graveyard. Gadget Soldier in Defense Mode!
[stunned; thinking] This isn't the future my Necklace predicted! Everything has changed!
KKaiba
Before I can summon my Blue-Eyes White Dragon, I must sacrifice two monsters. First this!
KKaiba
That's right! It's my Egyptian God card!
TTéa
What's he thinking?!
KKaiba
Hear me now! I won't be controlled! I decide my future! So now I sacrifice my monsters! You're so quiet, Ishizu. Where's your magic now? Or have you realized that there's no such thing as destiny?! Now observe as I summon my Blue-Eyes! [summons his Blue-Eyes White Dragon] Show yourself!
So somehow Kaiba was able to change the future, by summoning his Blue-Eyes White Dragon!
But how? What did he see?!
Ishizu [thinking] Something from Kaiba's past must have awakened inside him. For he was the ancient keeper of the Blue-Eyes.
KKaiba
Ishizu, if you could foresee all my moves, how did Blue-Eyes surprise you? Unless of course, you're nothing but a fake, as I suspected!
Ishizu [thinking; smiling] Soon he shall see the truth.
KKaiba
Time to finish you off now! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack! Wipe out her Life Points, with White Lightning Attack! Farewell. [Blue-Eyes White Dragon attacks Ishizu directly, dropping her Life Points down to zero, winning him the duel] Victory is mine! That's it!
The winner of this duel is Seto Kaiba!
All right! I knew that you were gonna win this duel all along, big brother!
YYugi
[thinking] That was insane! Marik's Millennium Rod must have shown Kaiba the secret to winning this duel! I bet it has something to do with the images on that ancient stone tablet. Kaiba's destiny is connected to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and I bet that's why he had to play it! Maybe now he'll believe in destiny!
TTéa
Hello?! Is anyone in there?
Of course. Open your eyes and look around, will ya? You're surrounded by my penguin army.
TTéa
I know! I meant is there anyone in without feathers and a beak?
There's no one here but us penguins, Téa!
TTéa
You know my name?
I know more than that, Téa Gardner… five-foot five, size six sneaker… I've got all the numbers in my report. And I'd say your number is up! Because I'm about to put the freeze on you!
TTéa
Who are you? And what do you want from me, anyway?!
Don't tell me you forgot our last meeting. [reveals himself in the form of Nightmare Penguin]
TTéa
I think I'd remember you.
Look, things are never what they appear to be here, so when we met earlier, I looked a bit different. Give up? I'm one of the Big Five! The name's Crump, former accountant of Kaiba Corp.
TTéa
Disguised as a penguin?
Yes, and I'll explain all that soon. But for starters, let's do a quick run through your numbers.
TTéa
This can't be good!
Nice try! Looks like my iceberg dueling field is about to leak you cold! Before we start, we'll have to choose our virtual decks from this card database. Not that it really matters what cards you decide to pick. The probability that you'll be victorious is slim to none!
TTéa
How am I supposed to choose when I've never even seen most of these cards before? [realizes; thinking] Wait! That one actually looks sort of familiar! [starts selecting some cards] Good thing I've spent so many hours watching Yugi and Joey duel.
Okay. As per the rules, it's time to choose your Deck Master. It can be any monster in your deck.
TTéa
I know exactly who I want to choose… So check it out! [chooses Dark Magician Girl] Dark Magician Girl's my Deck Master, who's yours?
I've already taken the form of a monster known as Nightmare Penguin, you fool! So I'm both the duelist and the Deck Master. Two threats in one! And once you're on ice, I'll be free to waddle my way to the real world!
TTéa
Guess again, Crump! It's time to duel, shorty!
TTéa
To begin, I'll place one card facedown…and then I'll summon Ancient Elf to the field! And that's all for now, Crump.
Now, the fun begins. Watch this. I'll start off by summoning my Giant Red Seasnake! And he gets a little power boost!
TTéa
How did your snake get more attack points already?!
Well, my Deck Master's special ability increases the attack power of every water monster on my side of the dueling field. So now, my snake has 2,000 attack points and as a number you can't argue with!
TTéa
That's what you think! So, are going to attack me or what?!
TTéa
Now I activate this card, Offerings to the Doomed! Looks like I've got this duel all wrapped up, 'cause my magic card destroys one of your monsters! See ya, Snakey! Now for my facedown monster. I'll switch it from defense to attack mode! Reveal Fire Sorcerer! Pretty cool, right? And now, it's time to warm things up a bit. Much better. Next I'll activate Fire Sorcerer's special ability. By discarding two of my cards, I'm able to burn through 800 of your Life Points!
TTéa
And don't think I'm finished with you yet, Crump! Fire Sorcerer, put that bird on the hot seat! And since you lost Life Points, your own rule gets turned against you! How do you like being frozen?
I absolutely love it. If you hadn't noticed, I'm a penguin and we like things on the cool side. Or do you need a lesson on Antarctic birds?
TTéa
You are weird little bird, Crump. [thinking] And I'm in the mood for a barbecue. [draws] What's this? Maha Vailo? No, he's not powerful enough! There's no way he'll beat Flying Penguin!
Téa, don't give up so fast. He has a secret skill that can help you.
TTéa
Huh? What kind of a skill? Hold on, I remember this! Yugi once told me about this card.
[Flashback to that time]
You wanna know which card is most like me?
TTéa
Wait, I know. Well, I think I know. It's that purple guy with the big hat, right?
Uh, big hat? Oh, you mean my Dark Magician card. Well, even though it's pretty great, I don't think it's the card that's most like me. Okay. Ah. This is the one! Pretty cool, right?
He may not be as strong as the Dark Magician, well. not when you first look at him anyway. But if you look closer, you'll see a hidden power deep inside.
[Flashback ends]
TTéa
[thinking] Of course! It's hidden strength! [speaking] I'm not done yet! Now, I summon Maha Vailo in attack mode!
TTéa
Wait, I'm not done! Check this out! I activate Magic Formula, raising my monster's attack points by 500!
You must've failed all of your math forces, kid, because it's still too short on attack points to defeat my Flying Penguin!
TTéa
I guess you don't know about Maha Vailo's hidden power. He gets 500 extra attack points for each one of my magic cards!
TTéa
Oh, it's fair! Go, Maha Vailo! Attack his Flying Penguin with Sacred Lightning! Add this up, Crump! Extra crispy fried penguin, anyone?
So much for the Big Five. I should never have hired those corporate clowns!
[on virtual screen] Excellent dueling, Téa!
TTéa
[on virtual screen] Thanks, Yugi.
How could they be out-dueled by these two in a virtual world where I make all the rules? If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, so perhaps it's time for me to step in. I'll make sure they never leave this place!
On behalf of myself and the Big Five, I want to offer your our most sincere apologies, Noah.
There's nothing to explain! You five failed me for the last time! Now you're all fired!
Your slick lawyer talk won't get you out of this one, Johnson, so don't even try it. So far your partners Gansley and Crump each suffered an embarrassing defeat. So why should I believe the rest of you won't fail? I have no choice, Johnson. I must dispose of you all!
Please, Noah! Don't do it! We've analyzed our attack patterns and we come up with a solid dueling strategy that is guaranteed to bring success, sir! Understand our position. The Big Five are desperate to defeat these brats. It's the only way we can take over their bodies and leave the cyber world behind! We can't let them win!
Very well. I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Don't let me down.
No. 'Cause if they fail me again, he will be the sorry one. Their failures are a reflection of me. And I can't allow Yugi and his friends to make me look like a failure.
I summon Swordsman of Landstar! And then… I'll play this, my Graceful Dice! Yeah! Raise my Swordsman's attack points with a high roll! [the dice lands on a six] All right, it worked!
[smirking] Not quite. [changes the dice to a one]
[screams overwhelmingly] WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE ALL THIS?!
TTéa
I've never seen him have such terrible luck before. Poor Joey.
TTéa
[as Joey activates his Gamble trap card; to Yugi] Gamble?
Yep. It's a risky card, Téa, but if it works, it can help Joey turn this entire duel around, and it starts with a coin.
TTéa
And what exactly is so risky about it, Yugi?
Well, Joey flips a coin in the air, then he calls heads or tails, and if he's right, he gets to draw five cards, but if he's wrong, Joey's next turn gets skipped and he can't afford to let that happen. It could cost him the entire duel!
He can take all the risks he wants, because in my virtual courtroom, I control everything!
[Noah drops in, interrupting the duel and threatens to disqualify Johnson for rigging Joey's dice rolls and coin flip]
TTéa
What's the deal?
Noah! You can't, sir, please! I'm only a few moves away from taking over this fool's body!
You don't deserve that prize, Johnson! Not after what you just pulled!
Sad to say it's true. The honorable Judge Man is nothing but a fraud who's been cheating you from the very beginning. He's been using my virtual technology to tamper with your dice rolls.
[to Johnson; enraged] How 'bout I tamper with your face?! Mr. So-Called-Man-Of-Justice, you big, fat fake!
But, Noah, I couldn't risk losing this! Please, you must understand me! I can't take living in this virtual prison for one moment longer! It's torture!
Your excuses bore me! I brought you five into my virtual world with the understanding that under my leadership, you would defeat Seto Kaiba and his little friends. But if you cheat, I can't prove that I'm truly more deserving than him!
Than me?! More deserving of what?
For years, I've lived in Seto's shadow, always trying to prove that I'm the better one! I should be the president of Kaiba Corp, not him! And it's about time I've proven to Gozaburo Kaiba that he should have left the company to me!
What?! [thinking] But my stepfather, Gozaburo, has been missing without a trace for over five years! And why would Noah want to prove something to him, anyway?! This kid is not who he seems to be! But who is he?
Excuse me, boys. If I may interrupt this little quarrel for just a second, the defendant would like to speak. [thinking] If Johnson plays by the rules, I may still be able to win this!
Sorry, but this doesn't concern you. Johnson, it's time for me to do something that I should have done the day I met you!
