S1 E15Unfinished Business

[Scene changes to Dilys' shop, where we see Dilys place sandwiches in Norman's bag]

Don't forget your sandwiches Norman, they're your favourite.

Thanks Mom, I'll bring you back some gold if I find any.

[Dilys just taps Norman's hard hat, but then the mood changes when we see Dusty sniffing around Norman's bag]

Go on! Shoo! Those turkey sandwiches are for my little explorer! Oh that Dusty can smell meat a mile off!

Station Officer Steele likes his roast dinners too. He could do with watching his waste line!

[Dilys chuckles at the thought, the scene quickly changes with Dusty hiding behind a post box, as Norman crosses the road, Dusty suddenly bites into his bag but quickly runs away]

Oi! Clear off greedy guts!

[Inside big cave, Station Officer Steele, Mandy and Norman have gone in far enough]

Time to start heading back.

Oh, I haven't found my gold yet.

Do we have to?

There's a secret underground passage here.

Oh, let me have a look!

Hang on! Wait for me!

I bet this is where cavemen used to live.

"Trevor loves Dilys true". Hm, must be an ancient cave painting! [she giggles knowingly]

Whoa, I can see something shiny!

Maybe it's gold!

[Norman and Mandy climb into the small tunnel, while Station Officer Steele is calling out to them]

Come back! Come back at once! Come out of there, remember what I told you, it's not safe.

I'm gonna get my Mam a gold nugget, like the one in her back teeth.

That isn't gold down there, it's mica, a shiny mineral deposit that---, Oh, talk to yourself.

In a minute, we could be millionaires and never have to go to school again.

[Station Officer Steele tries to get through the tunnel, but because of his waste line, he gets stuck]

Oh no, help.

What's the matter Station Officer Steele?

Help me, I'm stuck.

[Norman and Mandy laugh at this at first]

It's no laughing matter, help me, I'm blocking the only way out.

[Norman and Mandy then realise that it was no laughing matter and gasped at this]

[Back in the cave, Norman and Mandy are trying to pull Station Officer Steele out with the rope, but to no avail]

It's no use, I'm well and truly stuck, we should save our strength and wait to be rescued.

Anyone want a sandwich? [Norman's light suddenly switches off] What's that?

It must be the battery, just pop in one of the spares I gave you.

[Norman reaches in for one of the batteries, but then realises that they're not their due to the hole]

Uh-oh. They must have fallen out.

[Back in the cave, Station Officer Steele, Norman and Mandy are singing Ten Green Bottles]

SSStation Officer Steele, Norman and Mandy

And if one green bottle should accidentally fall, they'll be five green bottles hanging on the wall.

Shh, listen.

NFNurse Flood

Mandy, Norman!

Mam!

Right children, I want you to make as much noise as possible.

[Mandy and Norman grab two stones each and bang them together]

Mam!

Sam!

Fireman Sam!

NFNurse Flood

Mandy, where are you?

Mam!, Mam!

Fireman Sam!

Get that dog off me!

Don't worry, we'll soon get you free, on the count of three, pull, One, Two, Three.

[Sam and Nurse Flood pull with all their might but they couldn't get Station Officer Steele free]

I don't think that's going to work.

NFNurse Flood

We need something slippery.

Yes, and I know just the thing [Sam grabs his walkie-talkie] Penny, you know that grease gun of yours, well I've had and idea.

[Scene fades for a bit, until it changes a few minutes later where we see Penny handing Sam the grease gun]

Here it is Sam, I've filled it up like you said.

[Sam squirts Station Officer Steele with it]

Right, One, Two, Three.

[Thanks to the grease gun, Station Officer Steele was able to slip out easily]

Hooray! Fireman Sam!

It's all right now, everything's okay.

Clear off you bushy tailed menace!

[A squirrel scurried off when Sam turned the switch off and pulled the plug out.]

Hm. Looks like he's gnawed out our kettle flex.

Don't worry, Sam. I'll make you some nice cup of tea.

Let's fix that flex first, Elvis.

So you know the plan Norman?

I keep your mom busy and you sneak inside with the squirrel, just show me the doorbell.

[Norman sneaks up to the front door and rings the doorbell, This alerts the attention of Nurse Flood, so she makes her way to the door, Norman laughs quietly and sneaks 'round the back just as Nurse Flood opens the door]

NFNurse Flood

That's strange.

[Nurse Flood closes the door, leaving Norman laughing with delight]

NFNurse Flood

Oh hello Mandy.

Hiya Mam.

NFNurse Flood

Achoo!

Bless you.

NFNurse Flood

Oh thank you, Achoo!

Bless you again.

NFNurse Flood

I don't know what's the matter with me, it's not as if there are any animals around Achoo!

Maybe it's hey fever mam.

NFNurse Flood

What, in September? Achoo!

[Mandy quickly hides the squirrel in her bag]

NFNurse Flood

ACHOO!

Bless you Mom.

There we are Elvis, good as new.

Thanks Penny.

[The fire bell suddenly sounds]

Great Fires of London, there's a fire at the Flood's House!, we'd better get going.

C'mon Elvis, no time for a brew now.

Oh.

NFNurse Flood

So that's why I been snee Achoo! sneezing so much.

I'm sorry Mam, can I still keep him?, he won't be any more bother I promise.

NFNurse Flood

Absolutely not!

Aw Mam.

Your mum's right Mandy, Squirrels don't make good pets, they can bite and they really belong in the wild, he's too much of a live wire to be a pet.

[The squirrel suddenly jumps out and lands on the ground]

NFNurse Flood

Ah, ACHOO!.

EEveryone

Bless you.

There's Ursa Major, the Great Bear and look there's Ursa Minor, the Little Bear, can you see them?

No and I can't see mother bear or Goldilocks either.

Oh well, they don't look much like bears, point the telescope over there Sarah, you should be able to see Venus one of the planets.

Venus? Lemme, Lemme, Lemme!, I wanna see if there are any bug-eyed monsters!

Don't be silly Norman.

There's an alien, it's all hairy and those eyes.

Let me look,[sees Rosa asleep on the wall]Oh it's only Rosa.

[Suddenly there's a bright blue light and frightening Rosa in the process]

Hey what's that!

[Children all gasp in amazement]

Must be a shooting star.

No it wasn't Sam, it was an alien spacecraft from the planet Venus.

How'd you know it was a spaceship from Venus?

Well, I'm only guessing it's from Venus, could be from Mars or Saturn.

Could be that you are making the whole thing up Norman Price.

We saw something in the sky last night.

I suppose it could have been a spaceship.

Full of aliens, [Norman gasps] Look! Look! Stop the bus Mr Evans.

[Trevor stops the bus and opens the door]

What made that then Mr Evans?

Oh there's lots of quite sensible explanations for crop circles, could be caused by a sudden gust of wind or a freak or maybe someone's been camping.

Or this could be where the aliens landed.

Now Norman, that's enough, aliens don't exist.

Mmm, we'll see about that.

You're not shutting already Dilys.

I'm not just shutting, I'm gonna barricade myself in.

I just want to buy some tea Dilys, we've run out up at the fire station.

I'm sorry Elvis, it's those extra territorials, they scared the wits out of Bella and I won't let them do that to me.

Oh right then, I'll tell Sam he can't have his tea 'cuz aliens have invaded Pontypandy.

And if you see my Norman sent him straight home, now then, how am I gonna get back in there?

Help, I'm stuck, get me out of here!

Well, well, a Martian with ginger hair.

I'm not from Mars, I'm from Venus.

Speaks English very well.

For someone from Venus.

Well don't just stand there, get me out of here.

Just hang on Norman, whoa!, now, now, don't want you getting stuck in a bog as well, hold on to my legs.

Hurry up Mr Evans, my pant's are filling up with Mud.

[Trevor tries to reach but to no avail, Sarah and James hold onto Trevor's ankles and Trevor tries to get closer and Norman tries to grab his hand]

It's no good I'm sinking, pull me back.

Don't just leave me!

We need help.

Oh, there it is Bella, the alien spaceship what took my precious Norman.

Is a getting closer [through binoculars, a bright light can be seen] is a coming straight for us.

Stands to reason if they are looking for intelligent life forms.

[Silhouettes of Sam and Norman then appear]

Oh, is a hideous, is a terrifying, it's a Ohh!

Norman!

There you go ladies, one green life form safe and sound.

Mam!

Norman my little precious. [kisses Norman]

Oh Mam!

Eugh, You taste like Pea soup, Norman, is that my cooking foil?

Ah.

[to Sarah and James, who are standing outside her shop with Dusty scratching] Do you mind scratching like that? Customers will say I'm inspecting the fleas.

Morning Tom.

G'day Mike, thanks for stopping by.

So what's the problem?

This thing's been making funny noises.

Hmm, did it sound like this? [scatting while tapping his pencil on the central heating]

Uh, not exactly.

Don't worry, probably just needs re-tuning.

[Mike spins his wrench around his figure, but accidentally drops it and lands on Tom's foot]

OW!

Oops, butterfingers...and toes.

Look Mike, perhaps we can sort this out another time.

No time like the present. now off you go and polish up that helicopter of yours.

Well, I'll be just outside if you need me.

Don't worry, what could possibly go wrong? [The wrench flies out of Mike's figure and crashes somewhere] ...Ah.
