Wow. Thanks Emolga. Swadloon evolved because of you. That was a great battle.
Emol? Emol-Emol-Emol! [I did? I mean, thanks! I'm glad I could help your Swadloon evolve in battle!]
You're the best, Emolga!

[At night, Ash, Iris, Cilan and their Pokémon have gone to a diner in Astilbe Town]
All right, it's dinner time, everybody. [The Pokémon start eating their food] Wow! look at them go. They must really like it a lot.
[But then, Tepig notices something]
Tepig? [He sees his former trainer, Shamus] Te... [Starts remembering how he got abandoned by Shamus] Tepig! [Runs up to Shamus delightfully] Tepig! Tepig! Tepig!
[Looks down to Tepig] Hmm? What's your problem?
Huh? [Gets out of his seat] That's my Tepig. Sorry.
[to Ash] Huh? Oh, it's you.
Hey! Come here, Tepig.
Tepig? [Puts his paw on Shamus' right leg] Tepig!
Tepig, what's up?
Tepig seems to have taken a liking to that trainer, I would say.
Huh? Ash, remember that Tepig was abandoned by its original Trainer?
Uh, it was?
[horrified] Oh! [Flashback to when he tried to get the rope around Tepig's snout] Who could have done such a thing? [The flashback ends] I think it was at the battle club in Accumula Town.
I see. This all must have happened before I started travelling with you.
[turning to Shamus] Could that be the guy?
[Iris bangs her hand on the table]
It's as clear as the hair on my head! [Goes to confront Shamus]
Huh?
Iris, wait! [He and Cilan go to confront Shamus as well]
All right, what do you clowns want now?
I think my Tepig might be the same Pokémon you abandoned back at the Accumula Battle Club.
Oh? [Turns to Tepig] Huh. Lucky for you, this guy gave you a break.
[enraged] HOW dare you just throw away a Pokémon like that?!
I do what I want, thank you. It just felt right at the time.
[enraged] THAT'S JUST WRONG! SAY YOU'RE SORRY RIGHT NOW!
Iris is right.
[Shamus picks up Tepig]
Not on your life. What a waste! [Throws Tepig and Ash catches him]
Hey, look!
Now let's just relax. It's judgement time!
Huh? Who's this yoyo?
I am not a yoyo. [Puts on a judge's costume] In fact, I happen to be a judge connoisseur.
Come on, Fire Warriors! Emboar, Heatmor, showtime!
[After recalling his defeated Emboar and Heatmor, Shamus walks over to Ash, Snivy and Pignite]
You still got a problem, Shamus?!
Oh no, you won the battle fair and square. [to Pignite] Sorry Pignite. I was totally wrong when I said you had no talent and I hope you'll forgive me.
Pignite? [Forgive you?]
Hey, I know! Since you haven't been able to forget me after all this time, why don't you come back to the team? We'll be great, give up on this loser trainer and come with me. We'll reach the top with the new Fire Warriors! What do you say?
[Pignite thinks a second, but remembering that Shamus replaced him with a 'better' Emboar, Pignite violently retaliates with Flamethrower burning Shamus' face. Pignite stands next to Ash]
You see, Pignite's one of the gang. Looks like we're staying as a team. [Both Pignite and Snivy agree]
[runs away embarrassed, almost tearing up] I'll remember this!
Ash, wait! Did you just say you were going to the Opelucid Gym?
You bet! We're heading on over, right now!
Then I guess I have a little bad news for you. I just received word that the Opelucid Gym is closed.
[As the heroes are riding in a limousine to Mr. Hatterly's mansion, they meet a familiar face at the gate]
Burgundy? What are you doing here?
I came all this way because I heard they were looking for a skilled Pokemon Connoisseuse but they won't let me in!
You will have to forgive us. Mr. Hatterly requires the services of an A-Class Pokemon Connoisseur!
Now let me see. You're a...
What's wrong with C-Class, monsieur?!
Why nothing!
I fear a C-Class like yourself won't suffice. [Keep in mind, C-Class connoisseurs are beginners and are way less experienced when compared to A-Class Connoisseurs]
I pride myself in my knowledge in all Pokemon Connoisseurs, but I've never heard of you.
'Fauxgundy': Uhh...I became an S-Class Connoisseur long before you two were born, that's it!
[unconvinced] Now that's strange. I didn't think there was a connoisseur association back then.
Would you mind showing us your Connoisseur badge once more?
'Fauxgundy': Of all the INSULTING...[At the same time, a Lillipup starts playing with the badge] You give that back!
[Lillipup licks the badge causing the 'S' sticker to fall off revealing that it is just a 'C' Badge]
Why, that's a C-Class badge!
You forged it to look just like an S-Class Badge!
'Fauxgundy': Give that back! [As 'Fauxgundy' tackles Lillipup, the outfit becomes ruined revealing it is none other than Burgundy]
[Ricard Nouveau summons his Purrloin into the battlefield]
[horrified] Augh! NOT A PURRLOIN!
Oh, something wrong? You're not afraid of a Purrloin?
No...I'm just fine. [Not really] We'll just attack head on and now presenting my Crustle!
[Crustle's Rock Wrecker knocks out Ricard Nouveau's Purrloin and also sends an unseen Burgundy blasting off Team Rocket style!]
Huh? Could have sworn I've heard that before.
[Cilan is declared winner of the Connoisseur battle]
Purrloin, you'll be alright. Now take a good rest. [recalls Purrloin]
[walking up to Ricard Nouveau with Crustle] Ricard. So, what do you think of Crustle?
[a bit embarrassed but admits...] I guess you and Crustle are sparkling and unpredictable after all.
They all got hit with Toxic?
Yeah.
No mercy. Just like always.
You just had a Gym battle?
[nods in agreement] The Virbank Gym is really tough. You here for a Gym Battle too?
Yeah! I'm challenging tomorrow.
Then you better get ready to deal with a whole lot of poison.
You mean the Virbank Gym is a Poison-type Gym?
Big time. I've never seen a Gym Leader so good with Poison-type moves. Her Pokémon are really tough and really high level as well and we couldn't do anything. First we get poisoned, then our moves will get totally messed up. We were done before we could do a thing. [Two other trainers show up]
Same thing happened to me.
We got poisoned right away, too. [A couple more show up and it's the same story]
So did we! That Gym is too difficult.
I can't believe with just one of her Pokémon, she took out every one of mine.
[finds the entrance to the Virbank Gym using a GPS] It says the Gym is right here.
Huh? That's it? [the door does have the Gym logo and is located in a dark alley. Quite an anomaly of a Gym location]
No question. This is the entrance to the Virbank Gym.
[Loud concert music is playing throughout the Gym. Getting poisoned is not the only thing challengers have to deal with...]
This is louder than a Hyper Voice!
What did you say?!
My ears! [Get ready Ash, because not only do you have to deal with Poison-type attacks but loud music that can hamper your concentration]
Hey, next challenger. That you? [points to Ash]
Uhh....yeah.
[the crowd glares at Ash. Come on, he's there for a battle just like the others.]
Whoa. Talk about one tough crowd.
I prefer to think of them as dedicated.
How's it going? You're looking at the Virbank Gym Leader, Roxie.
Hi, I'm Ash and I'm from Pallet Town. Nice to meet you.
Pallet Town? That's in Kanto!
Pika! [You got it!]
And check out that Pikachu! [shows off her Koffing] This Koffing showed up while we were doing a concert in Kanto and we've been tight ever since! Koffing rules!
Koffing. [Nice to meet you guys.]
[Ash whips out his Pokédex. Oh come on! You saw the Koffing James used to own! Granted, the anime did not do a data entry on Koffing until now and Ash most likely needed a refresher, but still...]
Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. Koffing hovers in the air, thanks to the poisonous gases it contains, which have a foul odor and can explode.
It's great when Koffing explodes at our gigs! The audience can never get enough!
