[picks up Ruby's letter to her and reads it] "Sapphire, you were right. I need some time to think. So I'm running away. Ruby." This can't be happening! [starts tearing up] Oh, Ruby! I'm so sorry! You left before I could take back all the horrible things I said to you!
Well, Amethyst was with her. Right? Maybe she knows where she went.
[They look up and see Amethyst, laying on Steven's bed and playing a video game]
Amethyst, have you seen Ruby?
Yeah. I've seen her. She asked me for a pen and paper a while ago. Why?
Because she ran away! Did you see where she went?
I don't know. Maybe she'll come back. It's not my job to babysit her.
[calming Steven down as he silently freaks out] Relax, kiddo. This could be what she needs.
But, Dad! What if they never form Garnet again?! We gotta get them back together!
Whoa... Th-That's not our call to make! Ruby's gotta want that for herself! If that's not what Ruby wants, then it's not what Garnet wants, right?
Ruby! [quickly runs off the porch and approaches her] Ruby, I'm so sorry! I should have never said those awful things to you!
[spits out the wheat grass from her mouth] Pt'ooey! Naw, you were right. [jumps off Horse Amethyst] Someone else told us we were the answer. But… I don't believe that anymore. At least, not 'til I hear it from you. [kneels down] Sapphire… Will you marry me?
So, my Dad will finish playing the music, and then next you'll do the "I do's." And then I'll say… "I now pronounce you Garnet." And then you fuse! Everyone will cheer!
Everyone... who survived.
Oh, it's just… There's so many old friends who won't be able to come. All the Crystal Gems who were corrupted and bubbled in the basement.
Maybe we could bring the bubbles up here?
No, no. It's not safe. We can't risk them getting out.
It's a big Crystal Gem wedding! We should all be there together.
Why?! Why are the Crystal Gems still together, after finding out that everything was a sham? Somebody's making them believe in the future, and it's you. You seriously think they're gonna want me around when the last thing I did was try to shatter you? You told them everything, and they made their choice. They want me in a bubble and you out there.
You say they want me to be made of honor? Well, I am; I'm made of the most solid, flexible, diamagnetic stuff there is, and I'm not as dense as you might think. I've got enough self-respect in this gem to accept that they don't want me on their team anymore... I blew it! Everything was different and I didn't believe it.
Everything is different! We had a fight so we can make up, right? If they didn't let you out because they care about me, then they're gonna care that I want you back on the team!
I want you back on the team. Forget the surprise; if we show up together, they're all gonna know that everything's okay.
Heh. Spoken like a leader.
No. Spoken like a friend.
Hey everyone. Did you guys… "Bis-mith" me?
[Pearl, Sapphire, Ruby and Amethyst drop their sodas simultaneously]
Ha! I win! Also, less importantly, who are you?
I… invited Bismuth! I hope that's cool.
[slowly walks up to her] Bismuth. [hugs her]
PRPearl and Ruby
Bismuth! [tackle her to the floor, and begin nuzzling her]
You wouldn't believe what we've all been through. I'm so sorry! We should've-
Look, I'm right there with you, Steven filled me in.
So, is anyone going to introduce me?
Let's give 'em some space.
Dearly beloved Gems, humans, lions big and small, living gourds, Onion, we are gathered here today to celebrate Ruby and Sapphire, two of my favorite people, who combine into one of my other favorite people! You all probably know her as Garnet. She's their love, given form. Now it's your turn to talk about that.
I know this is all kind of silly, I mean, we've been together for 5,750 years.
I used to feel like I wasn't much good, just one of me on my own. But when we're together, it feels like it's okay to just be me. So I wanna be me, with you, an-and, not even the Diamonds will come between us. And if they try, we'll beat 'em up!
Ruby, my future used to look like one single, obvious stream, unbending 'til the end of time. In an instant, you pulled me from that destiny and opened my eye to an explosion of infinite possible futures, streaking across space and time, altered and obliterated by the smallest force of will. [beat] What I mean is, you changed my life. And then, I changed your life. And now, we changed our lives.
[gently bumps Bismuth] Hey, Bismuth, that's your cue.
[Bismuth, touched and crying by the vows, approaches them with the rings]
Ruby, do you take this Gem to have and to hold, on this and every other planet in the universe!?
[whispering] You didn't let me finish.
Then by the power vested in me by the state of Delmarva, I now pronounce you… Garnet!
What a wonderful idea. Humans found a way to make a moment's decision last forever. I won't need future vision to know I'll always remember this.
I'm so glad. [starts tearing up]
Oh no. I'm sorry. Don't cry.
[wipes off the tears] I guess seeing everyone together's got me really choked up. [bigger tears begin flowing out of his eyes] Wait a second. You don't think…?
[takes off her visor, opening her third eye, using her future vision; horrified] Blue Diamond!
[The sky darkens quickly and everyone looks up to the sky, seeing Blue and Yellow Diamond's ships approaching]
Oh, no. It's the Diamonds! [runs up to Nanefua] Nanefua, get on your Nane-phone! We've got a code blue and a code yellow!
[As the Diamond ships approach the beach, they fly overhead them]
WE'RE OVER HERE, YOU CLODS!
Wha- where are they going?!
If they're not here for us, they must be here for the Cluster!
It's a huge earth-destroying geo-weapon that the Diamonds made out of a bajillion gem shards!
[While the Cluster and Yellow Diamond's ship engage in an arm wrestling, Blue Diamond emerges from her ship as it faces Steven and the others in front of the temple]
Guess it's time to work the old Universe charm.
Alright, I'll just... be in here. [goes inside the house]
Rose Quartz. So you escaped Homeworld and crawled back here. [raises her head, angrily crying with tears of grief] This is Pink's world! How dare you use it as your hiding place?! COME! Answer for what you've done!
This is bad! This is bad! This is bad! This is bad!
Come on, you rocks! Let's put her in a bubble!
PAPearl, Amethyst & Garnet
Right!
Wait, there's no reason to fight. Let me talk to her. [approaches Blue Diamond to try and reason with her] Blue Diamond, please listen to me! I didn't shatter Pink Diamond. Pink Diamond's right here. It's pretty interesting when you think about it--
ENOUGH! [hurls an energy blast at Steven, knocking him back, only for Alexandrite to catch him]
You cannot fathom how much I've mourned, what thousands of years of grief has done to me! [unleashes her aura, de-fusing Alexandrite, making everyone fall on their knees and tear up, except Connie]
I know this sword. This is the sword THAT SHATTERED HER! [destroys the sword as Steven gasps, which made Connie fall down only to be caught by Lion] You deserve this-- all of you!
I don't know. She won't listen, she just wants to fight!
Who are you supposed to be?
I am the will of two Gems to care for each other, to protect each other from any threat, no matter how vast or how cruel. You couldn't stop me 5,750 years ago, and you can't stop me now!
It's you, that Ruby and Sapphire that disrupted my court.
This is supposed to be MY day!
You hope to defeat me by clinging to my feet?
I just needed to keep you from taking three steps to the right.
[freeing herself from the wreckage of the barn Lapis dropped on her] Lapis Lazuli. Does every Gem that comes in contact with this planet turn traitor?! [unleashes her aura again, making everyone (including Connie) fall to their knees and tear up] What?
[wipes off a single tear from her eye] I've felt worse. [uses her hydrokinesis powers to chain Blue Diamond's hands with water shackles] Knock her off this beach!
Now's our chance! With all our strength together, we can take her down!
That's right! This is our home, our planet, our friends and family! We are the Crystal Gems!
[breaks free from the water shackles] Pathetic! You are NOTHING!
[Yellow Diamond emerges from her ship and frees Blue Diamond from the wreckage after the Cluster wins the arm wresting match, also destroying both their ships]
Ha! I told her off, once. I can do it again. [jumps off Bismuth's hands and runs up to her] Hey! Yellow Clod! REMEMBER ME?!
No. [zaps Peridot and poofs her to her gemstone]
Stop! [jumps off Garnet's hands and runs up to the Diamonds] Don't do this! Listen to me, I'm the one you're missing! I'm Pink Diamond!
[shocked and enraged] You! [charges towards Steven as he summons his shield]
[Yellow Diamond stomps her foot on Steven, knocking him out unconsciously]
[through her thoughts] I won't give up. Everything I do, I do it for her! I do it for him!
[leaps through her] Don't forget about yourself, Pearl!
[through her thoughts] I just got my friends back, and now, I'm gonna lose 'em again?!
We can still do this… [jumps through her] together!
What am I thinking? We haven't lost, yet!
[through her thoughts] How miserable. I knew Pink couldn't handle her own colony. But, I gave in. And now, I'm to blame for her fate.
Ah, her thoughts are too strong!
[through her thoughts] What good will any of this do? The more I make these Gems suffer, the more I long to see you again, Pink.
