You have changed your appearance before. You will do it again; that is part of the sentence.
DThe Doctor
You can't just change what I look like without consulting me!
You will have the opportunity to choose your appearance.
DThe Doctor
Oh, then it won't be so bad. But I warn you, I'm very particular.
Here is your first choice.
[A man with a big bushy beard appears on the screen]
DThe Doctor
He's too old! [Looks at the other choices] Well, he's too fat, isn't he? No, he's too thin! That one's too young! Oh now, that won't do at all, it's ridiculous!
You're wasting time, Doctor.
DThe Doctor
Well, it's not my fault, is it? Is this the best you can do? I've never seen such an incredible bunch!
Since you refuse to take the decision, the decision will be taken for you.
DThe Doctor
No, no, no, I never said that! But I maintain I have the right to decide what I look like! It could be very important on the Earth. People on Earth attach a very great deal of importance- [Disappears]
FDFirst Doctor
[As he appears on the TARDIS's television screen] Ah, there you are! I seem to be stuck up here. [He examines the Second and Third Doctors.] So you're my replacements. [They smile at him.] Humph. A dandy and a clown. [They appear insulted.] Have you done anything?
SDSecond Doctor
Uh, well we've assessed the situation-
FDFirst Doctor
Just as I thought! [Chuckles] Nothing.
TDThird Doctor
Well it's not easy you know.
SDSecond Doctor
It's not as if we know what that stuff is.
FDFirst Doctor
Then I'll tell you. It's a time bridge.
SDSecond Doctor
It's a what?
FDFirst Doctor
Now what's a bridge for, eh?
SDSecond Doctor
Well. Um.
FDFirst Doctor
Right! So now dilly-dallying and cross it.
SDSecond Doctor
No! No wait!
TDThird Doctor
You faded him again!
SDSecond Doctor
I did not fade him. You saw him!
TDThird Doctor
Yes, you certainly did.
I hate to ask, but who was that?
STSecond and Third Doctor
Me [The Doctors look at each other] Me!
DThe Doctor
[after being hunted by Shockeye but defeating him with Oscar's discarded Lepidopteran equipment] I believe he's now been, moth-balled.
SDThe Second Doctor
[after summoning his TARDIS] Jamie?
[To the Second Doctor] Um after you, Doctor.
SDThe Second Doctor
Oh no. After you Jamie.
[To the Sixth Doctor] Um Doctor.
Jamie. And keep an eye on the old gentlemen, will you?
DThe Doctor
You wanna hear a story?
Don't give him more power.
DThe Doctor
Really short, really short. You know Hemingway. I saw some of his books back there. I met him. I wanted to see how good he was, so I challenged him. "Hemy, baby, write me the shortest story you can". He wrote it in six words. Short as hell! Do you wanna hear mine? I'm born. I die. I'm born.
[The Barber's haircut machine overloads.]
BThe Barber
You are giving me power. But how? I am not connected to you!
DThe Doctor
No, the engine is connected to me. My stories, my voice. Look. On!
[The screens turn on and play parts from the Doctor's past.]
SDThe Second Doctor
...in the universe can do what we're doing.
[Cut to a quick flash of the Third Doctor.]
I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord.
When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die!
When people need help, I never refuse.
I am definitely not the man I was.
[Cut to a short glimpse of the Eleventh Doctor.]
DThe Doctor
My body is like a barbershop. All of them inside, telling their stories, bickering! I... will not... fail them!
[In the barbershop they are treated to colour versions of the Fourth, Eighth and First Doctors. The spider starts moving again, faster and faster. The little screen shows the Fifth Doctor with Tegan Jovanka and Vislor Turlough, then the Sixth Doctor.]
BThe Barber
[laughs] You told a never-ending story, and gave me never-ending power!
He's taken out a third of the engine. You can't process that power. Your engine could overload and explode! We'll all be sucked into space!
BThe Barber
You will not do that. You will not! No. No! Would you? The stories say you protect life.
DThe Doctor
That is what I am doing.
