[Elena tries to pull out the stair post from her abdomen, but is unsuccessful. Elena presses her hand against the wall and pulls her body off the stair post. In the kitchen, Kol has strapped Jeremy's arms to the counter. As Jeremy struggles against his bonds, Kol pulls out a cleaver.]
[To Jeremy] Now, like I said, I don't fancy the Hunter's Curse, so I'm just gonna chop off your arm. But don't worry, I'll heal you right up with a bit of blood after. [Holds Jeremy's head against the counter] Sorry about the sting. Now, which arm is it? Is it left or right? I'll just chop off both to be safe.
[As Kol gets ready to use the cleaver to chop off Jeremy's arms, Elena vamp-speeds towards Kol, grabs his arm, and uses the cleaver he is holding to cut off one of her brother's bonds. Elena plunges the cleaver into Kol's chest. As Elena shoves Kol against the counter, Jeremy frees his other arm and runs over to the sink. He grabs the spray hose and uses it to spray vervain water at Kol while Elena moves out of the way. Kol starts screaming in pain. As Jeremy continues spraying vervain water at Kol, Elena pulls out the White Oak Stake from Kol's jacket.]
Jeremy, now! [Tosses her brother the White Oak Stake]
[Jeremy catches the White Oak Stake and plunges it into Kol's chest. As Kol starts screaming in pain, his body bursts into flames. As Kol continues screaming in pain, he staggers through the kitchen and falls down to the floor, dead. Jeremy watches Kol's body burn, then he and Elena turn to see Klaus standing at the open doorway, watching Kol's body burn.]
[To Elena and Jeremy] What did you do?
[To Klaus] We didn't have a choice. He was trying to cut off Jeremy's arm.
Lies. He never would've gotten inside if you hadn't have set a trap for him.
You said you were gonna put him down too.
[Ferociously and savagely] I was gonna make him suffer ON MY TERMS! I'm gonna burn this house to the ground. And then, when you try to flee for your lives, I'll kill you both without blinking.
Jeremy
[To Klaus] You kill us, you'll never get to the cure. You'll never be able to make any more hybrids.
You really think I care for an instant about my bloody hybrids? I want the cure so I can destroy it. I would've killed you all the second we dug it up, but now I'm just gonna watch you burn instead.
[Klaus screams in pain, falling to his knees. Bonnie appears and walks past him.]
[To Elena and Jeremy] Invite him in. [Elena and Jeremy just stare at her] Do it!
[Klaus gets up. Jeremy looks at Klaus, then at Elena, and then back at Klaus.]
Jeremy
[To Klaus] Come in.
[Bonnie magically pulls Klaus inside the house. Klaus falls forward.]
[To Elena and Jeremy] Living room! Go!
[Elena and Jeremy run through the living room and the kitchen. Klaus tries to follow them into the kitchen, but is stopped by a barrier Bonnie put up. Klaus starts pounding against the barrier repeatedly. As Klaus continues pounding against the barrier, Jeremy pulls out the White Oak Stake from Kol's chest and runs to the door along with his sister. Klaus tries to follow them, but Bonnie stands in front of him.]
[To Bonnie] Witch. You can't do this to me.
You have no idea what I can do now.
[To Elena, Bonnie, and Jeremy] I will hunt all of you to your END! DO YOU HEAR ME?! DO YOU?!
[Elena, Bonnie, and Jeremy depart the house. Jeremy closes the door behind him. Klaus tries to run after them, but is stopped by the barrier.]
These symbols must have been left for the Hunters so they could find the cure. And this must be the story of Qetsiyah and Silas. According to Shane, Silas asked Qetsiyah for help making a spell for immortality. She helped make him immortal, only to learn he planned to use the same spell on another woman, not her. When she found out, she freaked.
Jeremy
So, Qetsiyah killed the other woman?
Yeah. Silas was immortal. She couldn't kill him. So, she trapped him in a cave and buried him alive instead.
Jeremy
Does it say anything about the Hunters purpose in all this?
I was wondering when you'd ask. Qetsiyah created a cure for immortality and then she buried it with Silas, hoping that he'd take it and die. End up on the other side with her for all eternity. But he wouldn't give her the satisfaction. So, many centuries later, her descendants created the Hunters to find him, cure him, and kill him.
So I think there's some stuff you and I need to talk about.
Yes, we do, but first... (holds out the cure) Consider it a graduation present.
Damon, I can't take that.
Sure you can. Looks like it might be cherry flavored.
I'm not saying I don't want it. Obviously I want it, but that's the only one. There's only one cure, and the Hunters have made it pretty clear that they're willing to kill everyone in Mystic Falls until they get it.
Elena, take the damn thing. I want you to take it.
Well, I guess that answers the sire bond question. (floor creaks) You gonna help a brother out or you just gonna lurk?
Jeremy
Look, Elena. You're my sister, and I love you no matter what you choose.
How is it even when you're dead, you're the bane of my existence?
Come on! We don't need the cure for Silas, he's calcified stone. Ugh.
Elena, there are children present.
Fine. [pulls the collar down to reveal Damon's shoulder] Damon, why isn't this healed?
Because the bullet was laced with werewolf venom, ok? Hunters are dicks.
We need Klaus. We need his blood.
Klaus would rather see me die. Plus, Klaus is a thousand miles away, sipping a hurricane on Bourbon street.
That wound will kill you.
Jeremy
What about the cure?
Jeremy's right. If you're human, the werewolf venom won't hurt you.
And here I was so moved by your speech to save mankind. (listens) Sounds like Vaughn's awake.
[cut to the living room]
What the hell are you doing?
Digging up Silas. Coming, Vaughn, or not?
Jeremy
Relax. I'm-- I'm just bringing dinner.
Jeremy
I don't think so.
AAmara
You're the Hunter. I never forget a face, but Silas killed you. You're dead.
Jeremy
I was. I came back.
AAmara
How? I said how? (to Bonnie) It was you, wasn't it? You're a witch. You brought him back.
AAmara
Of course I can see you. I'm not blind. I have eyes. Or are you dead? I get so mixed up. I can't tell the difference between the living and the dead.
Jeremy
Can you see people on the other side?
AAmara
I am the anchor to the other side. I can see everything. Gah! Don't touch me! Please don't-- don't touch me.
Jeremy
Ok. That's weird.
Jer, I think I've got an idea.
(Scene shift)
Jeremy
Amara could see Bonnie, and Bonnie could touch her. They made physical contact. It's like Amara's got a foot on each side or something.
Amara exists in both places at once, here and the other side?
Then she's not crazy crazy, she's just talking to dead supernatural beings roaming around in our basement.
Jeremy
The point is, if Silas isn't going to help us, what if Bonnie could be the same thing? What if she existed on both sides at once? What if she became the anchor?
You're right. Jeremy, you're right. So all we need is someone who could do that spell.
Oh, please don't say who I think you're gonna say.
Think about it. Silas wants Amara to die, and Amara wants Amara to die, so who besides us is the one person with the biggest stake against letting that happen?
(Scene shift)
I was hoping we could talk.
And I was hoping you were my Chinese food. Good-bye.
You remember Amara, right, brunette, brown eyes, I'm surprisingly not in love with her?
Well, she took the cure, she wants to die, and we have her.
For now. Silas is literally on his way here to kill her. He's completely obsessed with destroying the other side so that he and Amara can live happily ever after in the great beyond. Man, you were right about these Doppelgängers. They do always end up together. So how does it feel to say, "I told you so"?
Like I want to shoot fireballs at Silas and drown him in acid.
See? That's what I thought. So how would you feel about making us a deal?
Rule number one, think of the worst thing Katherine Pierce has ever done to you. Rule number two, toast to the glory of her impending death. Rule number three, if you come across something that's worse-- which you will-- repeat rules one and two. She pretended to be buried in a tomb for 145 years while I waited for her lying ass. (Damon drinks) Wait. Does that beat pretended to be Elena and kissing me on the front porch of your old house?
Jeremy
I don't think so.
I don't think so either, damn. Quarterback, go.
Think on that. Little Gilbert.
Jeremy
She fed me to Silas, and I died.
Jeremy
Then she made me crash my car into a pole and left me for dead. Again.
My sister's dead because of her.
Yes, she is because I wouldn't have even been in town to turn Vicki into a murderous vampire if I wasn't trying to get Katherine out of the tomb she wasn't in. Group shot.
Elena, we were just, uh--
I know what you're doing. (to Jeremy) You're cut off. If anyone is drinking to Katherine's last days, it's gonna be me. She impersonated me repeatedly... Made Aunt Jenna stab herself in the stomach and cut off Uncle John's fingers.
Jeremy
He might have deserved that.
My Grams died trying to close a tomb. She wasn't in.
Tyler's werewolf curse got triggered because of her.
Klaus followed her to Mystic Falls, and because of that, we lost Jenna.
We're gonna need more booze.
She tried to kill me at least twice.
She did kill me, although I'm weirdly better off.
Rumor has it she burnt down the entire city of Atlanta once.
Jeremy
That might win.
All right. Knock it off or take it somewhere else. You guys are being insensitive.
Come on, Stefan. Don't let the sight of a frail, human, Elena look-alike cloud your memories of the manipulative psycho that she is.
In 1864, Katherine moved into my home, she compelled me to love her, seduced my brother, fed us full of vampire blood, and then started a war with the town that got us killed.
But centuries before that, she was just an innocent girl who was shunned by her family, so for 500 years, she lied and manipulated and did whatever she had to do survive, and she did. She's a survivor, right. So that's the girl that I will drink to today. Cheers.
Please. One night of hot sex with her, and your brainwashed?
Oh, my-- I forgot to tell you. You were kidnapped and hostages and--
That's why you never send a busboy to do a man's job. Nadia, the devil's spawn. Hey, Caroline. Did you remember to tell Elena that?
I think my mind just exploded.
So this anchor thing, does it mean that you'll, like, be able to feel Katherine's death or whatever?
I think so. I mean, she's human, but she's also a Doppelgänger and Traveler apparently.
So who else do you see over there? Anybody I know?
I see lots of people. My Grams, the other witches. Vicki. I just don't talk about it, you know, I just--
Because it's depressing as hell. Tell Matty I love him.
She's here. She said she loves you.
Tell him that I watch over him and no more knocking around with that blond original chick who almost got him killed.
Wait. Wait. What's happening? What am I missing?
Rebekah says to tell you that I'm her parting gift. Hey, Care.
We've really gone through four bottles of bourbon today?
Can someone really tell these idiots to lay off the booze?
Jeremy
Alaric?
Jeremy
Where the hell have you been? I thought you bailed on us to go find peace or something.
Do you honestly think I'd leave Damon in charge and never look back?
He's talking about me, isn't he?
Jeremy
He says you're a dick.
Ding-dong. Does that mean the witch is dead?
No. Uh-uh. It's too soon. I can't.
