Castle · Season 6
Kate, I'm not proposing to you to you to keep you here, or because I'm afraid I'm gonna lose you. I'm proposing because I can't imagine my life without you. If that means when things get difficult we have to figure them out, then I'm willing to figure them out. Assuming you're willing to figure them out with me.
Well, in that case…Richard Edgar Alexander Rodgers Castle, yes. Yes. I will marry you.
[Castle grins as he slides the ring on her finger]
If your hero’s fictional cop buddies are anything like your real cop buddies, then they’d have real work to get back to. So, bye bye now.
What if our hero was offering Knicks floor seats?
Do you realize how many laws were broken by looking at that photo? Are you trying to get me fired?
Would make it easier to see you.
Not if I was in jail.
Right.
Thank you, for not saying anything about Castle.
Look, when I was a year out of Quantico, I was busting my ass on this case, my first big chance. We'd been going at it straight for a month, and I really wanted to let off some steam, so I went to a bar, and I picked up a guy, and I took him home. Next morning he says, "Who's Scofield?" Scofield was the subject of our highly classified investigation.
You talked in your sleep.
That's this job. Things happen. You better make sure they only happen once.
You know what the hardest thing about this job is?
What?
Knowing when to stop doing this job.
So then…apart from the fact that I’m dying, I’m fine.
Thanks for backing me up with Castle
Is he always such a character?
[Smiling] Yeah. That’s what I love about him.
If he has the toxin and the antidote, they'll find 'em
Thanks. For letting me be a part of this.
When you write your next novel, maybe you'll find a place for a dashing Colombian-American federal agent.
Consider it done.
You want a coffee?
Ah, no. I’d rather die than drink any more of that sludge. [McCord makes a face and Castle winces] Too soon?
…Tell you what, though. Next time I say I’m dying to see you, let’s keep it metaphoric.
Deal.
[After Beckett learns that nothing will be done about Reed]
You want everything to be black or white, I get it. But, in this town, it rarely is, and to do this job, you’re going to have to make peace with that. But hey, that was a hell of a hunch about Mrs. Reed. [Beckett stands up and McCord follows] You should feel really good about this.
Yeah, well that was Castle.
But you were smart enough to act on it. That was your call
And you backed me up without even knowing my play.
That’s what partners do. [Turns and walks away]
[Turning back to the emergency room] Yeah. That’s what partners do.
Morning Dad. I hope Pi and I didn't wake you.
We're making smoothies.
And yet, for me, not so smooth.
Mr. Castle, you're back. But not by popular demand.
Good to see you too, Perlmutter
[After Beckett and McCord arrive at the precinct and take over the case]
[Lowered voice] What are you doing here?
Me? What am I doing? What are you doing here? Why didn't you tell me you were coming to town?
I was gonna surprise you.
Well done.
Let's say Hank did embezzle money and killed Charlie to silence him. Why are the feds involved?
Well, maybe it has something to do with the Russians
Well, if we knew the feds' angle, we'd have a leg up on solving this.
Sorry guys. I've yet to come up with a crazy, genius theory yet. [Realizes Ryan and Esposito had stopped walking]
You don't need to. Not when you can go directly to the source.
Get Beckett to give us the lowdown.
Okay, wait a minute...
We get much-needed case information, you get to clear up any lingering doubts about your loyalty. Everybody wins.
Okay, guys, no, I can't do that, all right? After D.C., we promised we wouldn't-
We did you a solid getting you on this case, Castle. It's time to pay up.
Guys, this is my fiancée, okay? What does it say about our future if I keep pushing the boundaries?
Castle, you whole relationship is built on the foundation of your boundary-pushing.
...Good point.
