Orochimaru quotes from Naruto

Orochimaru

This petty little battle game ends now. From this point on, the course of history will change.

Orochimaru

I find it very interesting to watch things in motion. I get no pleasure when the world is still, like a windmill that isn't turning. I suppose some might find it beautiful even if it's immobile, but to me, such a thing is truly boring. So now I want to put things in motion myself. The first step is crushing the Leaf Village.

Orochimaru

[summoning the First and Second Hokage to fight the Third Hokage] Have you ever felt the joy and fulfillment of humiliating and destroying the one you once called sensei? No I suppose not. Perhaps vicariously you'll get a hint of what I mean. Just a taste, before you die.

Orochimaru

You know how the game of chess is played... pieces must be sacrificed!

Orochimaru

The best medicines are always bitter.

Orochimaru

[To Tsunade] I've often wondered what it would be like to wring that pretty neck of yours!

Orochimaru

How tranquil, or rather, how naïvely peaceful this nation has become... while all other countries are busy with military expansion races.

Orochimaru

It's human nature that people won't realize the true value of something unless they lose it.

Orochimaru

I can sense your fear and desperation... it's only natural... the prey must never let down its guard, not even for a moment... in the presence of its predator.

Orochimaru

The immortality jutsu. A technique for eternally recycling one's spirit on Earth. In a way, it's a kind of revival jutsu. You find a body, a young body, pour your spirit into it, and make it your own. I was using my old familiar form until now because I wanted our reunion to be a nice nostalgic one, sensei. Growing old is a sad empty thing. I only have to look at you to be reminded of that. You will die here old man, while I move on to another stronger body. But first I really must thank you and all the Leaf Village for preparing my next body so well.

Now I understand. It's Sasuke Uchiha.

Orochimaru

Exactly. You guessed it. It's Sasuke I want.

Orochimaru

[To Sarutobi] What nonsense! In the grand scheme of time, you're nothing more than a trivial footnote in the brief history of a cluster of huts called the Leaf Village! In time, the Hokage Stone Faces will crumble and be worn down to nothing...

[To Orochimaru] Hmph, you've never understood that it's far more than a mere 'cluster of huts'. It is a place where every year, Shinobi are born, raised, grow old, fight, and die to protect their home. These people are precious to me. We share a home, we share a life, and though we may not share ties of blood... they are precious to me! They are my family!

Jiraiya

What would I want with the Uchiha kid? Tell me, where's the fun in teaching a boy who's already a genius to begin with?

Orochimaru

How touching. You're drawn to him because he reminds you of your old self, is that it? That brat of yours could never beat Uchiha, born as he was into the Shinobi art of Sharingan. Without Sharingan, poor Naruto hasn't a chance of surpassing him. A shinobi's strength rests upon his ability to obtain and master all the jutsu of this world. The very reason we are called ninja is because of the many ninjutsu arts that we wield.

Jiraiya

You're wrong, that's not what makes a shinobi. You never did get it. A real ninja is one who endures no matter what gets thrown at him.

Orochimaru

Tsunade, you are the one person I wouldn't want to kill. Listen to me, if that brat is allowed to live it would mean more trouble than you and your friends could ever imagine. Stay out of my way.

Tsunade

No, you listen to me. If I do nothing else, I will protect this boy.

Orochimaru

Ha, and how do you plan to do that? Look at you, your body is shivering like a leaf in the wind. Besides, why would you, one of the Sannin, risk your life to save a lowly genin?

Tsunade

By saving him I'm saving my home, the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

Orochimaru

You really think you're protecting the village?

Tsunade

You see, this boy, this lowly little genin, has been chosen by fate to be Hokage someday.

Orochimaru

What nonsense. Even if it is true, what of it? Who cares about the Hokage? Only a fool would want that job.

Tsunade

[flashes back to what everyone's told her about Hokage] From now on, I'm gambling everything too. I'm putting my life on the line!

So Orochimaru, when this is over I'll expect 100 human sacrifices.

Kabuto

If Manda finds out that his master can't use any of his jutsu, he's more than likely to betray us. This was a mistake. No matter how hopeless things looked, he never should've summoned Manda, not in his condition.

Tsunade

Katsuyu, see to the boy. Take him to Shizune quickly.

Yes milady, at once.

Shizune

There, I'm ready.

Shizune, please look after the boy. [deposits Naruto] The battle to come promises to be a most fearful one. You and this clone of myself must take the boy somewhere safe and see that no harm comes to him. This is the wish of your mistress.

Shizune

Lady Tsunade.

I'm going to pop you like a balloon, you dirty stinking toad!

Then please come on and try it. I've always wanted a snakeskin wallet.

Jiraiya

Orochimaru, you're no longer fit to be one of us. Your evil days are finally at an end.

Orochimaru

One of us? What an insult.

Tsunade

After this there'll be one less Sannin in this world.

Orochimaru

Maybe, just maybe there is no purpose in life. But if you linger a while longer in this world you might discover something of value in it. Like how you discovered that flower. Or how I discovered you one fateful night.

That's what Lord Orochimaru said to me that day. But people are born for a reason, that's what I think. They have something they're meant to do with their lives, and I am no different.
