[Robby Keene is holding court at the dojo]
Robby Keene
Over at Miyagi-Do, our enemies are uniting against us. They think by working together, they have the advantage. They think they're better than us. And I should know because I used to be one of them. That officially ends today. I'll admit, at first, I didn't want to join Cobra Kai. But eventually, we all need to look ourselves in the mirror and realize who we really are. Now, we may have taken some losses, but it's not about how you start. It's about how you finish. And to beat the enemy, it helps to know the enemy's playbook. So I'm gonna teach you Miyagi-Do karate, so we can beat Miyagi-Do Karate. [Cobra Kai members are surprised; Kreese enters] They're warmed up for you, sensei. Ah-sah!
[Miguel and Sam toast to saving the tournament at Miyagi-Do, and are about to kiss, when...]
Robby Keene
...Should've known. [Sam gasps and breaks her embrace of Miguel]
Robby! It's--it's not what you think!
Robby Keene
What, did you two get together the second I was gone or wait a week to make it look good?
Robby Keene
[looks at Miguel accusingly] So now I know why you stopped writing.
I stopped writing because you never answered!
Robby Keene
Yeah? Well, it’s kinda hard to write back in between getting my face busted in!
[weakly] I didn’t know...
Robby Keene
[rolls his eyes] Oh, you wouldn’t have cared even if you did know!
Robby Keene
[points an accusing finger at Miguel] Stay out of this!
[gets in Robby's face] I don’t think I will.
Robby Keene
I was hoping you’d say that.
[Robby clenches his right hand into a fist and swings at Miguel. Sam steps in front of Miguel, catches Robby's arm, puts both of her hands on his shoulders, and shoves him backwards]
ROBBY, DON'T!!! [Robby glares at her and Miguel]
Robby Keene
[disgusted] You two deserve each other...[walks away]
[Daniel calls out Robby over how Cobra Kai fighters saw through any Miyagi-Do opponent's moves and defeated them]
You wanted to beat Miyagi-Do so badly you gave Cobra Kai all of our secrets.
Robby Keene
The goal is to win. I did what I had to do.
If all you care about is winning, you didn't learn anything I taught you.
Robby
Everybody thinks their way is the only way. You, my dad, Cobra Kai. Truth is, it doesn't matter which way you fight as long as it works. And I'll use whatever it takes to win.
Why? To get back at your dad? Me? Sam? The world? If that's the case, I have another Miyagi-Do secret that you can slip to your friends. Never put passion in front of principle. Because even if you win, you lose.
[Anthony finds Kenny in the locker room, and tries to apologize over the bullying he and his clique gave him, but when LaRusso claims he could only imagine how Kenny felt...]
Oh, you can imagine? Okay, go ahead.
Well, like, not, uh, great?
Then you wouldn't know. Because no one's ever been such a piece of [angered] SHIT to you!!! Well, maybe it's time you found out. [roundhouse kicks Anthony to the locker] How does that feel, LaPusso? Not great? Man, get up, get up! [pummels him and was set to deliver a final blow until Robby intervenes]
Robby
What are you doing?
Just getting payback on the kid who thought he could bully me and get away with it.
Robby
Anthony LaRusso was your bully?
Not anymore. [gets closer to Anthony and holds his face] Do you hear that? Get ready for high school next year because you're gonna be in a world of pain. [gleefully smiles]
Robby
Hey. This is not how I trained you.
It's Cobra Kai. No mercy. [walks off]
[Robby learns the real reason why Johnny brought him to Mexico]
Robby Keene
You've got to be kidding.
You have every right to be upset.
Robby
How could you take me to Mexico and not mention once we're coming to get Miguel? "Robby, let's go to Mexico. Come back with some stories."
I wasn't bullshitting you. I wanna fix our relationship. When I heard Miguel was in trouble, I had to do something. I just couldn't leave you at home. I'm done doing that. Besides, I need your help to find Miguel.
Robby
My help? Do you even have a plan?
Yeah, of course I do. Miguel's looking for Hector Salazar. I know where the kid gets off the bus. That's our first stop.
Robby
When we get there, what do you plan on doing?
I'll ask around if anyone saw Miguel.
Robby
That's the big plan?
Of course not. We come up dry, I'll check the Mexican phone book.
Robby
Oh my God. You drove me over a thousand miles to check a phone book? Might as well put Miguel's face on a milk carton.
Robby
I could be at home with Tory. Coming with you was a mistake.
All right. I'm sorry, okay? I thought this trip would help you and Miguel. When we get to the bus station, if you wanna buy a ticket home, you can. I don't want you to go home, but...
Robby
Dad, watch out!
[Johnny drives off the road to avoid a pickup truck but the front right tire blows]
[the tension between Cobra Kai and the former Miyagi-Do students has escalated to everybody getting kicked out of the Splasharama water park]
This really sucks. I can't believe they kicked us out.
Robby Keene
This is what happens when Cobra Kai's involved. Everybody loses.
Are you trying to blame me? I was trying to stop a fight, not start one.
Robby
You won the tournament, and everything's going good for you, but you're part of the problem.
I was just hoping we could have a fun day together. But I guess that's impossible.
Robby
It's only impossible if you're still in Cobra Kai. And so is staying with me.
Well, I'm not leaving Cobra Kai.
Robby
Then, I guess that's it. You and Kenny and everyone else can stay brainwashed. I'm done trying to help.
[Johnny has forced Miguel and Robby into one no-holds-barred fight to get their feelings for each other out of their system, but Miguel stops after driving Robby to the edge - and possibly doing to Robby what he did to him at the West Valley brawl]
Robby
Why'd you hold back?
I didn't get into karate to hurt people. I did it to be a badass and find balance.
Robby
Yeah, I understand that.
Last time we fought like this, uh, how come you didn't hold back?
Robby
I wanted to finish the fight. I mean, not like that. I just... I... I had tunnel vision and I got so angry that I just... I mean, I barely knew where we were. I'd take it back in a second if I could. I was the cause of the worst moment in your life. And if it's any consolation, it was the worst moment in my life, too.
So? Is it over? Are you guys good? Thank God. If you still hated each other when the baby gets here...
The baby? Wait, what? Like, you and my mom?
Yeah, we're, uh, having a baby. We were supposed to tell you together, so make sure you act surprised.
Robby
[smiling] Dad, that's... That's awesome. That's awesome. [they all embrace]
[Daniel and Amanda return to the old Miyagi-do dojo]
What are we doing here? I thought we were heading home.
Uh, we just have to make a quick stop. Come on.
[they enter the house, but when they go towards Mr Miyagi's old room]
Amanda, I don't go in there.
Hey. It's okay. You're hurting right now. But I want you to heal. And I'm right here. [they enter the long-closed room]
[soaks up the environment, looking at all of Mr Miyagi's things, including his old picture of Yukie and his painting instructions to Daniel] It's like a time capsule in here.
The night before we got married, I was so nervous. I came here to see Mr. Miyagi. He sat me down, poured me a cup of tea... and some sake. And we talked about you. He loved you so much, Daniel. He said to me, "Amanda-san, in life, always easier to hide head in sand." He told me you could be a bit of a handful sometimes. That you would always fight for what you believed in. And there was nothing you believed in more than your family and friends. And what I believe in now is standing up to Terry Silver. It's the right thing to do for you, for me, for our family. Sorry it took me so long to realize.
That means the world to me, Amanda. But what if standing up to Silver just makes things worse again? Every time I try to fight for what's right, somebody gets hurt. I can't fail these kids again.
Robby
You didn't fail me. [Daniel sees Robby and Sam at the door] Sam and my dad told me what was going on. You know, when you first met me, I was a messed-up kid. But you gave me a job. And a home. And a purpose. You can't just give up.
Robby, the things I did, juvie, I was... I was just trying to help you.
Robby
No, I'm... I'm sorry. I should've listened to you about Cobra Kai. But I didn't understand until I started mentoring someone myself. Now Silver's got a hold on this kid. There's some others in there I care about too, and, uh, we need to stop Cobra Kai. But we can't do it without you. Sensei.
Dad, not everyone has someone like you to protect them and teach them. It's time that all of us join this fight.
[they go to the back garden and see the Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang students, plus Amanda, Johnny and Chozen]
You're not alone anymore. So what do you say, Dad? Will you fight?
[the crowd bows to Daniel. He joins Johnny and Chozen, and they all bow to the students]
