You don't sell insurance. You're an FBI agent... [clears throat] ...who's been missing for twenty-five years. And we need to get you to a town called Twin Peaks, to a sheriff's station?
Dougie... we love you, but we are not traditionally welcome at such places.
Or by such aforementioned people -- law enforcement types.
DCDale Cooper
I read you one hundred percent. Friends, that's about to change. I am witness to the fact, you both have hearts of gold.
CCandie
They do. They really do!
CPCarrie Page
You got the wrong house, mister.
DCDale Cooper
You're saying you're not Laura Palmer?
CPCarrie Page
Laura who? No, I'm not her. Now...
DCDale Cooper
What's your name?
CPCarrie Page
Carrie Page.
DCDale Cooper
Carrie Page.
CPCarrie Page
That's right. Now, I gotta go, so...
DCDale Cooper
Wait, so the name Laura Palmer means nothing to you?
CPCarrie Page
Look, I don't know what you want, but I'm not her.
DCDale Cooper
Your father's name was Leland.
CPCarrie Page
[taken aback] Okay.
DCDale Cooper
Your mother's name is Sarah.
CPCarrie Page
[spooked] Sarah...
DCDale Cooper
Yes, Sarah.
CPCarrie Page
What's going on?
DCDale Cooper
It's difficult to explain. Strange as it sounds, I think you're a girl named Laura Palmer. I want to take you to your mother's home - your home, at one time. It's very important.
CPCarrie Page
Um... listen. Normally, somebody like you comes around, and I tell 'em to fuck off. This door'd be slammed in their face. Right now, I gotta get outta Dodge anyway. It's a long story. So ridin' with the FBI just might save my ass.
DCDale Cooper
FBI. I'm Special Agent Dale Cooper. Is Sarah Palmer here?
DCDale Cooper
Sarah Palmer.
ATAlice Tremond
No, there's no one here by that name.
DCDale Cooper
Do you know Sarah Palmer?
DCDale Cooper
Is this your house? Do you own this house, or do you rent this house?
ATAlice Tremond
Yes, we own this house.
DCDale Cooper
Who did you buy it from?
ATAlice Tremond
Honey, what was the name of the woman who sold us the house?
[MAN SPEAKING INDISTINCTLY]
ATAlice Tremond
Chalfont, a Mrs. Chalfont.
DCDale Cooper
Do you happen to know who she bought it from?
ATAlice Tremond
No, I don't, but Honey, do you know who owned it before Mrs. Chalfont?
[Man speaking indistinctly]
DCDale Cooper
What is your name?
ATAlice Tremond
Alice. Alice Tremond.
DCDale Cooper
Okay. Sorry to bother you so late at night.
ATAlice Tremond
That's okay.
DCDale Cooper
Good night.
ATAlice Tremond
Good night.
[she closes the door. Cooper and Carrie walk out into the street. Cooper is deep in thought]
DCDale Cooper
What year is this?
[Sarah Palmer's voice is heard from the house, shouting "Laura!" Carrie looks up at the house and screams. Fade to black]
