Yes, I am dying. You've been trying to kill me for centuries, and here I am, dying of old age. If you want something done, do it yourself.
You will die, and the Time Lords will never return.
You still can't work up the courage to shoot me, can you? You're still worried I've got something up my sleeve! [Dejectedly] Well, knock yourselves out, boys. I've got nothing this time.
[A crack in time opens in the sky, and regeneration energy drifts down from the crack into the Doctor's mouth.]
You will die now, Doctor. This is the end of you! The rules of regeneration are known. You have expended all your lives!
Sorry, what did you say? Did you mention the rules? Now, listen. A bit of advice: tell me the truth if you think you know it, lay down the law if you're feeling brave, but, Daleks, never ever tell me the rules!
[panicking] Emergency! Emergency! The Doctor is regenerating! The Doctor is regenerating!
[The clock tower begins to strike twelve]
Oh, look at this! Regeneration number thirteen! We're breaking some serious science here, boys! And I tell you what, it's gonna be a whopper!
Exterminate! Exterminate the Doctor!
You think you can stop me now, Daleks? [shouting] IF YOU WANT MY LIFE, COME AAAAAAND GET IT!!!!!
[The Doctor focuses his regenerative energy to destroy several flying Dalek ships.]
{continuing] Love from Gallifrey, boys!
[The Doctor unleashes a blast from his head and hands that obliterates the Dalek mother ship overhead, sending out a shock wave that destroys all Daleks in the area and decimates the town and surrounding countryside.]
It all just disappears, doesn't it? Everything you are, gone in a moment, like breath on a mirror. Any moment now... He's a-comin'.
Yep, and I always will be. [his hand starts glowing] But times change, and so must I.
[From the Doctor's perspective, he hears a little girl's laugh and sees a young Amelia Pond runs past him, the TARDIS walls and rails covered with drawings of the Eleventh Doctor and his adventures]
The first face this face saw. We all change. When you think about it, we're all different people all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this. Not one day. I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me.
[A vision of an adult Amy walks down the stairs. They touch each other's faces]
Raggedy man... Goodnight.
[The Amy vision disappears. The Doctor slowly takes off his bow tie and drops it on the floor, then closes his eyes in preparation to regenerate.]
Hey... [extends his glowing hand to her]
[The Doctor abruptly regenerates.]
[The Doctor has regenerated]
Kidneys! I've got new kidneys! I don't like the colour.
Of your kidneys? [The TARDIS starts shaking] What's happening?!
We're probably crashing. Oh!
[pressing buttons] Stay calm! Just one question… Do you happen to know how to fly this thing?
DThe Doctor
Our whole lifetime... That first Doctor that met the Toymaker never, ever stopped. Put on trial. Exiled. Key to Time. All the devastation of Logopolis...
DThe Doctor
Adric. River Song. All the people we lost... Sarah Jane is gone, can you believe that for a second?
DThe Doctor
I loved her. And Rose. But the Time War, the Pandorica, Mavic Chen... We fought the Gods of Ragnarök, and we didn't stop for a second... to say "what the hell?"
DThe Doctor
I'm fine because you fix yourself. We're Time Lords, we're doing rehab out of order.
DThe Doctor
Now, you two, if you don't mind, there is a great big universe out there calling, and I've gotta get going. So off you pop, old man.
You're the old man; you're older than me!
Actually, that is true. He's younger, 'cause you came after him, so you're the older Doctor.
DThe Doctor
Okay, kid. I love you, get out.
Don't go thinking you've got an excuse. The human race might be clever, and bright, and brilliant -- it's also savage, and venal, and relentless. All the anger out there on the streets! The lies, the righteousness, that's human, that's you! That's who you are! Using your intelligence to be stupid. Poisoning the world! And hating each other, you've never needed help any help with that! But today, something else is using your worst attributes. Playing with you. Like toys.
Donna Noble, this is for you. Let me tell you vhat happened vhen de Doctor, he vas leaving you. He met eine friend called Amy Pond! Und he loved Amy Pond! Yes, he be liking de redheads. Und they went to and fro in time und space, but... Amy Pond was touched by de Weeping Angel, und she died! [Cuts the strings of Amy's puppet.]
Well, that's all right, then! Und then he was meeting Clara. Mmmmmm! But she vas killed by a bird! [Cuts the strings of Clara's puppet.]
She still survives in her last second of life.
Well, that's all right, then! But then de Doctor met Bill. Not Stooky Bill, but lady Bill. But she was killed by de Cybermen! [Cuts the strings of Bill's puppet.]
But her consciousness survives.
Oh well, that's all right, then!
I came to this universe with such delight. And I played them all, Doctor. I toyed with supernovas, turned galaxies into spinning tops. I gambled with God and made him a jack-in-the-box. I made a jigsaw out of your history. Did you like it? The Master was dying and begged for his life with one final game, and when he lost, I sealed him for all eternity inside my gold tooth. [Smiles revealing his golden tooth.] There's only one player I didn't dare face. The One Who Waits.
I saw it, hiding, and I ran.
Hmm. That's someone else's game.
I don't understand why you're so small! You can turn bullets into flowers! Think of the good you could do. So tell me why you don't!
You know full well this is merely a face concealing a vastness that will never cease, because your good and your bad are nothing to me. All that exists is to win or to lose.
And you know full well that I've had many faces, containing something far more. So come with me. Leave this tiny world. We can take your games back to the stars, we can play across the cosmos. We can be... celestial.
The Time Lord and the Toymaker?
And yet... I have fallen in love with humanity. This world is the ultimate playground! All of the sport, the matches, the medals, the gambling and the anger... And the children, shackled to their bedrooms with their joysticks and their buttons. You make games out of bricks falling upon other bricks, you are exceptional! And then there are the mind-games, oh... the dating and ghosting, the deceit and the control, you make me dizzy! I am in no hurry to leave this place.
You know what I did, when you went flying off in your blue box, spaceman? I stayed in one place, and I lived day after day after day.
Yeah, it does. But you keep on going, and that's the adventure. The one adventure you've never had. 'Cause I've... I've worked out what happened. You changed your face, and then you found me. D'you know why?
