[Lt. Gaeta is starting to lose his composure under constant pressure.]

Sir, I'm running every diagnostic we've got. Checking each line of code could take days.

Tigh

I am not interested in excuses. Fix it!

[shouting] It's not an excuse, sir. It's a frakking fact!

[Tigh walks into the tool closet on the hanger deck and discovers Tyrol making homebrew]

Tigh

What's this, Chief?

I'm making solvent, sir, to clean machine parts.

Tigh

Solvent my ass. I know a still when I smell it.

[Noticing a new Basestar-size contact appearing on DRADIS that uses Colonial Fleet signals, Adama orders a hold for jumping and has Dualla hail the ship]

Attention unknown vessel, this is the Battlestar Galactica. Identify yourself or we will fire upon you.

Range now 1700, sir. [long pause]

RVRadio Voice

This is the Battlestar Pegasus to the ship claiming to be the Galactica. Please respond.

Saul Tigh

Pegasus? How could that be? The entire fleet was destroyed.

CWCDR William Adama

[orders Dualla] Give me direct contact. [speaks] Pegasus, this is Galactica actual. Authenticate identity with recognition codes immediately.

[sees panel] Sir. I'm receiving Colonial recognition codes. They're authentic.

Galactica, this is Pegasus actual, Adama, is that you?

Cain. What a pleasure to hear your voice.

[to XO Jack Fisk] Disengage.

JFJack Fisk

Red Team, disengage. Red Team, disengage.

Commander, I don't know what to say. This is a miracle.

You took the words right out of my mouth. [orders crew] Step down to Condition One throughout the fleet.

Galactica, Apollo, you are not going to believe what I'm looking at out here. It's like a dream. It is a dream. [laughs and smiles at seeing Battlestar Pegasus and escort fighters]

[Apollo confronts Colonel Tigh after finding that he dealt in the Fleet's black market.]

Tigh

Don't you play "holier than thou" with me. I haven't done anything that most people on this ship haven't done. Including you.

Doesn't make us right, Colonel, just a whole lot of people wrong.

[After a bout of negotiations with Sesha Abinell, leader of the Cloud 9 terrorists, Adama briefly confers with Tigh.]

Saul, we can't give her Sharon. I hope you know that, right?

Tigh

I know that. Against our dealing with the terrorists... if we start now, it'll open the floodgates; and it will never stop. And by the way, it's not Sharon. It's a frakking Cylon.

You don't think I know that?

Tigh

I think there's part of you that looks into that thing's eyes and still sees that young girl that reported aboard two years ago as a rook pilot. Well, it's not. It never was. Bill, it's a machine.

...You know, we need to figure out who's side we're on.

Tigh

Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We're evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go.

[after Roslin apologizes for slapping Tigh in a heated moment]

Tigh

You see, little things like that don't really matter anymore. In fact, not too frakking much does matter anymore. I got one job here, lady: to keep the Cylons preoccupied with the hornets' nest they've stirred up down here so they're off-balance and out of position when the Old Man shows up in orbit. The bombings? They got the Cylons' attention, they really got their attention, and I am not giving that up.

We are talking about people blowing themselves up.

Tigh

You know, sometimes I think that you've got ice water in those veins, and other times I think you're just a naïve little school teacher. I've sent men on suicide missions in two wars now, and let me tell you something: it don't make a Gods' damned bit of difference whether they're riding in a Viper or walking out onto a parade ground. In the end, they're just as dead. (puffs on cigarette) So take your piety and your moralizing and your high-minded principles and stick 'em some place safe till you're off this rock and you're sitting in your nice, cushy chair on Colonial One again. I've got a war to fight.

[at the Galactica CIC, Colonel Tigh sees Gaeta enter and he is not very pleased]

Tigh

You got to be kidding me. Who gave this man permission to enter the CIC?

KACaptain Karl "Helo" Agathon

Admiral's orders sir. [walks up to Tigh] Communications took some serious hits during the rescue and Mr. Gaeta's offered to help with repairs.

Tigh

Well isn't that nice. a man can turn his coat, collaborate with the enemy, [as everybody stops working] contribute to the deaths of thousands, but the old man needs his phones fixed and suddenly all is forgiven.

AAgathon

The Cylons find us, we're gonna need every hand we've got.

Tigh

[to Helo] The Cylons found us, Mr. Agathon. Your friend Gaeta was on the welcoming committee. [shouting at Gaeta as he looks exasperated at what Tigh just said] Hey! Look at me! As long as you're here, maybe you can help me out. I'm missing something. I lost it in detention. [gets closer] Since you're so buddy-buddy with the Cylons, maybe you know where it is. How about it? [pause] Do you know where my eye is??!?

Tigh

I'll tell you a dirty little secret. The toughest part of getting played is losing your dignity. Feeling like you are not worth the oxygen you are sucking down. You get used to it. You start to believe it. You start to love it. It's like a bottle that never runs dry, you can keep reaching for it over and over and over again...

So how do you put that bottle away, Saul?

Tigh

I don't know. One day, you just decide to... get up and walk out of your room.

Tigh

All right, this dance is over. Get your booze and your dog tags and let's get out of here.

So what, you're just gonna call it?

Tigh

Not enough excitement for one night for you, Captain?

[to Apollo, as he leaves] Hey. Hey! Where the frak do you think you're going?

It's over, Kara.

So what? You have the guts to try and frak another man's woman but not to fight one? I wonder if Dee knew what she was getting. Think she would have settled for sloppy seconds? [Apollo punches her in the face.]Truth stings, don't it?

You want a fight, Captain. You got it.

[Adama and Tigh discuss the food shortage]

I hear they're still eating paper. Is that true?

Tigh

No. Paper shortage.

[The two break down into helpless laughter]

[Tyrol, Tigh, Anders, and Tory are all hearing a strange music and begin putting lyrics to it]

There must be some kind of way out of here.

Saul Tigh

Said the Joker to the thief.

SASamuel Anders

There's too much confusion here.

TFTory Forster

I can't get no relief.

[As the four newly-revealed Cylons aboard Galactica struggle to deal with the information, the call to action stations sounds]

[over the loudspeaker] Inbound Cylon fleet! I repeat: action stations, action stations. Set Condition One throughout the ship. This is not a drill.

TFTory Foster

Oh gods... what're we going to do?

Saul Tigh

The ship is under attack. We do our jobs. Report to your stations!

Report to stations?

Tigh

My name is Saul Tigh. I am an officer in the Colonial Fleet. Whatever else I am, whatever else it means, that's the man I want to be. And if I die today, that's the man I'll be.

[After realizing he's a Cylon, Tigh hallucinates]

Saul. Saul! What the hell is wrong with you?

Saul Tigh

Nothing, Bill. [Tigh pulls out a gun and aims it at Adama.] I've never felt better in my entire life. [Tigh shoots Adama through his right eye.]
