[Narrating] Thowra was right about Arrow. As time passed he would grow more and more jealous. A fight was not far off. But Storm wasn't right about any of them getting too close to humans again. It happened again sooner than they thought. But the humans were not quite in the same shape and form. Was the men they has just eluded.

[Narrating] Legends are like plants they grow from tiny seeds a deed an action a piece of news a piece of gossip is passed from one to another. With each telling it grows. Other stories join the first stories and then more a strange mixture of the fantastic and the real. But legends are the stuff of hope stuff of dreams. In the High Country and nearby lands there was one legend bigger then all others.
[Narrating] The creatures of the High Country look after their own. When Thowra found the young foal Yooralla separated from his mother and quite lost he took him into his herd and treated him like a son or a younger brother. As did Boon Boon and the other of the herd accepted him as one of them. Yooralla admired and love Thowra very much and was keen to learn from him the ways of the High Country. So Thowra taught the foal how to read the wind how listen to the advice of the bush. How to avoid danger and how to leave no trace. Of course it's not easy to pick everything up at once.
[Narrating] But not only had Boon Boon been caught by man. She had also been taken a long way from her beloved High Country. Thowra had been quick to respond to his best friend's right but saving Boon Boon was not going to be a simple task.
[Narrating] So Arrow finally came good and showed he could be brave. Even if he had to be forced into it. As for Boon Boon it would take her some time to get over her experiences with Charlie's father. But the whole adventure made Thowra more convinced that the herd had to find a safer home but where.
[Narrating] So Thowra and the others had found their secret valley and they had their new secret. That ghost horse was not really a ghost it was their secret their protection they would not tell a soul. But the time would soon come that there were others who had to be let in on the secret.
[Narrating] It's funny thing about doing something good or something kind. You do it because it feels right. If it's proper. It's not so much what's expected but what you what to do.
Maybe never again. That wasn't the same man that went into that hut. That was a man worried about his son. A father who cared.
[Narrating] So Charlie's good deed was returned by the creatures of the High Country. But as it often is with good friends it would not be long before Charlie was to help out again. The nice thing about favors is that you can keep doing.
[Narrating] In the High Country night can bring the comfort of sleep and rest from the day's exertions. For others it is the start of their busy life nocturnal creatures using the dark to hunt for food and venture from their homes. But the night can also hold dangers and a night threatened with a storm more dangerous than usual.
[Narrating] So Baby Wombat was in very good hands as he settled back to enjoy a few weeks of being spoiled as he waited to recover from his accident and there was another treat in store organized by his father. But it wouldn't turn out quite as it had been planned.
[Narrating] As time passes our memories of time past grow stronger. Memories of good times swell the thoughts of her perfect those moments were a remarkable how exciting so it was with Golden happy though she was back with the man and his care and kindness she could not help thinking about her time with Thowra's herd and a friend she had left behind.
[Narrating] Following the safe return of escaped lion to its home in the circus, life returned to normal for the creatures of the high country. And what could be more normal than for two curious foals to be out exploring secret and mysterious places they have not visited before. But the young and inexperienced are often oblivious to dangers older and wiser heads have become we off.
[Narrating] So the Brolga's not happy to have his thunder stolen is he a king still worthy of the name. But at least Mopoke and Currawong now know who they are, along with the other creatures of the High Country. It would seem however that Thowra must be on his guard.
[Narrating] Following the ravages of a long cold winter, the creatures of the High Country take delight in the spring air and look forward to the coming months of warmth and abundant food.
