Birds aren't boring at all. Even though I see you're not exactly flying high about our new topic, I wouldn't want anybody trying to duck out of assignments or chicken out of our class trip.
S1 E15Unfinished Business
This stump has been here for years, and it spoils the appearance of my perfect yard. It's time to get rid of it once and for all. That stump must go!
[after figuring out his problem] I guess there's always a good side to every problem.
You just have to find it.
You know, learning to draw faces well is hard. Since it's difficult, there are things you must learn how to do first.
It's great that everybody likes and dislikes different things. It's all part of what makes each of us special.
Once I tried dunking a chocolate chip cookie into a glass of orange juice.
Yuck!
And chocolate.
No problem. Everyone likes and dislike different things. It's what makes each of us...
Ew! Cheese sandwiches again?
I thought you liked cheese sandwiches.
One more cheese sandwich. And I'm going to turn into a mouse & rat. (laughing)
What don't you like, Lizzy?
Let's see. I don't like tomatoes, rice, mayonnaise, celery, nacho chips, squash, mushrooms, tuna fish, and peanut butter.
Do you like anything else besides cheese sandwiches?
Not really.
Liking and disliking different things may be part of what makes everybody special, but it really makes it hard to figure out what to feed them at a party.
Maybe one of you guys would like a change. Ballet really isn't as hard as I thought.
No thanks, Tutu... I mean, Too Tall.
When was the last time we all went to the swimming hole for a family swim?
[chuckles] Swimming? But it's the end of October, Papa.
Yeah, [giggles] it's almost winter.
Not according to good old Mr. Sun, who's given us the gift of an unusually warm day.
[sadly] I wish the weather was hot and sunny like yesterday.
[sadly] Me too. Why did the weather have to change?
[in unison] Now there's nothing to do.
I finished waxing our skis. They should be nice and smooth for today's skiing.
[opens the door and looks outside] I'm not sure if there's going to be any skiing today. It's raining. It started about ten minutes ago. It's coming down so hard, it's almost melted all of the snow.
Are you sure, Papa? Aren't the sparrows flying close to the unturned leaves or something?
Sorry. I'm afraid not.
[sadly] I was looking forward to our ski day together! Why couldn't the snow stay for one more day instead of all of this miserable rain?
Mama, you're the one who told us not to go wasting today wishing it was yesterday.
And you said we should go outside and enjoy what today has to offer.
Yes, I know. It's just that I was really looking forward to a family day of skiing. Now look at it out there! It's cold, wet, and miserable!
Whatever kind of weather will be having tomorrow, I know we're going to enjoy it.
[after falling into a thistle bush, Sister got burrs in her fur.] I didn't know it was a thistle bush.
Hey, you made the catch.
Oh, I wish there is another way to get all these burrs out, but...
I'm never falling into a thistle bush again, especially now that I'm gonna be bald.
You're gonna be bald?!
[while cutting Sister's fur] No. Sister is not going to be bald. That's the last of them. No burrs and no bald.
What about my ribbon?
You'll have to wait for your fur to grow back a bit before we can put the ribbon back in.
But I look silly without my ribbon!
Well, I think you'd look pretty as a picture, with or without it. [kisses Sister]
Picture? Oh no! It's picture day at school next week! Will my fur grow back by then, Mama?
Well, fur grows when it grows. You can't make it grow faster. You have to be patient
Okay. I'll try to be patient. But it's not going to be easy.
It's always a good idea to plan ahead and make a list of everything you might need so you won't forget anything.
