Years ago when I still walked among the fools of the Hidden Leaf Village, I sought the power of the Shinobi who was not only the ultimate wood style ninjutsu master, but also the one who had total control over tailed beasts, the First Hokage. I extracted some DNA samples from the First's remains and conducted an experiment, implanting genetic components into the cells of 60 worthy children. But their bodies violently rejected the treatment. They perished in rapid succession one after another. Just as I was closing the book on the subject, someone stumbled onto one of my other experiments. I was forced to flee, leaving my laboratory exactly as it was. I thought all the test subjects had succumbed. I never dreamed there'd be any survivors.

How fascinating. We're looking at the end result of your work all those years ago. You can observe the fruits of your labor.

Orochimaru

There's no question he's intriguing. But I wonder more about Sasuke. He needs to stretch his wings. Maybe we could put his growth to the test by putting him against Naruto here.

Naruto

You must have questioned your identity and who you were meant to be. But you had faith in your strength and told yourself you were Naruto Uzumaki. You forged your own identity. In doing so you overcame the cold stares meant for the Nine Tails.

That's why you're confident. That's why you have no doubts at all about your identity and why you found friends who accept you so readily. But my story's different. Instead of reaching beyond Lord Orochimaru I stubbornly kept clinging tightly to his power. Now I have a much better idea of how you must have felt Naruto. You made me see. And so I decided that I would try to be like you. That's why my path's clear to me. I'm going to use what I was able to absorb from Lord Orochimaru to become a better stronger Kabuto Yakushi.

Kabuto

Lord Orochimaru immediately tried to acquire that power. However, he didn't yet possess a body that could tolerate it. That's why Lord Orochimaru was not able to become the perfect Sage, not like the one I have now become!

Itachi

I see. As I thought you're using Sage Mode.

Sasuke

You're just like Orochimaru! You're just a disgusting snake!

Kabuto

You ought to know better, snake expert. I am no longer a snake. My Sage power has allowed me to shed my skin and I'm now a dragon!
