[Luna goes back up into the night sky]
Now look at this. This is the kitchen table. It's the best part of the kitchen.
[talking over as Bear continues] Oh, no, no, no.
With this table, you sit an' you can have a whole mess of cooked and buttered string beans.
All wrong, Bear. All wrong.
[In a blank background, segment opens on a silhouette person holding a walking stick]
♪ There was an old lady ♪
OWOld Woman
Who are you calling an "old lady"?
[a house appears in the shape of a shoe]
OWOld Woman
[the door opens] Come on in! There's room for more!
♪ She had so many children, she didn't know what to do ♪
LGLittle Girl
Hey Ma, tell Jimmy to leave me alone!
OWOld Woman
[unaware] I don't know what to do!
♪ She gave them some broth without any bread ♪
LBLittle Boy
Hey Ma, where's the bread?
♪ And kissed them all soundly ♪
♪ And sent them to bed ♪
[as Shadow hums, nine people were in bed]
OWOld Woman
Aw, the sweet; little dears! [exits] Nighty-night!
Well, Bear, it seems to me that maybe the whole Big Blue House is your most extra-special, favorite place. It's your home, after all.
Wow, Luna. When you're right, you're right.
What can I say? I'm the moon.
[fairy dust opens on a silhouette pipe with the trees and the house underneath]
♪ The Itsy Bitsy Spider Went Up the Water Spout ♪
SSpider
Oh, okay! [he wanders inside]
[Suddenly, the pipe started to shake.]
SSpider
[struggled] This is really hard!
♪ Down came the rain ♪ [thunder rumbles, thunder bolts flash and rain droplets appear]
♪ And washed the spider out ♪ [the spider screams, real water releases from the pipe]
♪ Out came the Sun and dried up all the rain ♪ [a picture of the sun appears with eyes, a nose, and a smiling face and rain droplets disappear]
♪ And the Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the spout again ♪
SSpider
Oh, okay. [he wanders inside the spout, and starts to shake again]
[next shot shows a gray cloud alongside the rooftop and the chimney]
SSpider
I'm coming. I'm coming. [he makes his way] I made it! I'm the king of the roof! [laughs]
[Out of nowhere, a bird flies down. The spider hides in his usual spot. The bird turns away from it.]
SSpider
Can't catch me, can't catch me!
[The bird turns back as the spider ducks down. The bird turns once more, and flies away. The spider laughs joyfully.]
We're blowing up balloons
Yeah! We're making them big
REALLY [with Pop] BIG! [Pip and pop tries to blow the balloons bigger but the balloons pop]
PPPip and Pop
Sorry, Bear.
Guys, [he checks the kitchen with his head to one side and back to pip and pop] We don't want Tutter to hear.
must have been some bad balloons.
[chuckles, to the viewers] Have you ever been to a birthday party? It's really exciting when the birthday boy, or girl, or mouse, comes into the room and then everybody jumps out and yells... [loudly] HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! [party poppers pop, confetti comes down and party blowers blow repeatedly]
[to Pip and Pop] Oh, sorry. [back to the viewers] the thing is, we're having a surprise birthday party. That means we have to be quiet, and whisper, and tiptoe around, so Tutter won't hear. Will you help us make the birthday party, a surprise? [Pip and pop pops the balloons again that scared bear]
AGH!! [Goes over to the desk] Pip! Pop!
PPPip and Pop
Surprise? [Both laugh nervously]
Pip. Pop. [the otters pause]
Agh! Tutter! Tutter's coming! Quick, hide the balloons! [pip and pop hides the decorations] [to the viewer] Remember, don't tell Tutter! it's a secret! We're trying to have a surprise birthday party.
hello hello bear [bear looks around]
oh uh tutter, tutter uh um
I was just wondering, I mean I was wondering, just uh, what was that sound? Did any of you hear a balloon pop?
not me [to bear] did you bear?
okay okay i was just asking, um um bear?
there's something I'd like to show you
oh sure tu---- [pauses] tter but I uh I i have to uh I can't to have to finish finish finish um
yes endlessly talking to us
oh okay um okay, uh well i'll be waiting in the kitchen bear, that's where I'll be when you get a moment
