[clears throat] You sent for us, Babar?
Before you say anything sire, I have a signed note from Doctor Cabaloose, excusing me from any further ride-testing duties; Some kind of inner-ear thing.
I don't believe it! [whispers] Where I can get one?
How ever did you manage it?
With a little luck, Cornelius. And thought a help from Rataxes.
Lunch? That was the extra urgent, top secret business I had to attend to?
Proper nutrition is always a top priority, Babar.
And top secret because we wouldn't want it known that the king of Celesteville still prefers his crusts cut off.
I think I'm hungry. Let's get something to eat. My Treat. [Scene Transitions to the Pizza Parlor] Hello. Can we have some service, please?
Nothing [Walks towards Celeste] Come on Celeste.
Babar! I thought you were hungry.
Yes, he is cute. Hello there baby.
[Baby turns around, only to be revealed as Troubadour in disguise, he then closes the crib]
Wait a minute. I think I know that woman. [They trip over a bowl of fruit]
My Tusks, this is unfortunate.
Ah-ha! I thought so. All right, What's going on?
We aren't at liberty to explain!
We have strict orders from King Babar to remain out of sight.
Babar, I thought you told them to leave us alone
I did... at first, then they kinda insisted on coming along. You see, there was this poster of me with the...
I don't care! Obviously you don't think we can have fun without them tagging along! I'm going home.
No, Celeste, wait! Wait, let me apologize!
[Cornelius, Pompadour and Troubadour follow]
[turns to Cornelius, Pompadour and Troubadour] Where do you think you're going?
Oh, no you're not. Celeste is mad enough already! I've gotta straighten this out with her. Alone.
But, sire! Your life is in danger.
CPCornelius and Pompadour
Somebody is out to get you!
[sighs] Oh look! A flock of turtles!
CPCornelius and Pompadour
Where?
[Young Babar zips out]

[Door slams]
Young Babar: Why are you guys doing this to me? If i don't patch things up with Celeste soon, she'll never forgive me.
Cornelius: We have to keep an eye on you or this king-napper fellow might--
Young Babar: What King-Napper Fellow?
Has anyone actually seen this guy?
Cornelius: Not as yet.
Pompadour: In any case, we've set numerous traps around the palace.
Cornelius: Nothing can get in nor out of the palace without our knowing it.
[Young Babar sighs]
[Alarm rings]
[Young Babar screams] Ahh!
Pompadour: The alarm! We've caught the King-Napper!
Zephir: I give, i give!
Young Arthur: Gee, Babar, if this is the way you greet your friends, i'd hate to be your enemy.
Young Babar: This is all their fault.
Let me cut you down and i'll explain.
So you can see my problem.
If i don't get away from here soon, Celeste will never speak to me again.
Young Arthur: Don't give up, Babar.
Zephir: Let's see if we have all the facts.
Babar has to smooth things over with Celeste or they'll be kaput, right?
[Young Babar and Arthur] Right.
Zephir: Babar can't un-glue himself from Cornelius and Pompadour because they think someone is out to King-Nap him, right?
[Young Babar and Arthur] Right.
Zephir: Then the answer is simple.
We'll King-Nap Babar ourselves.
[Young Babar and Arthur] Right.
Young Babar: What?!
Zephir: It will be easy. Here's the plan.
[Whispers]
Celeste? You're the kingnapper?
Yep. This was the only way to save you from Cornelius and Pompadour. And it worked! (turns Young Babar toward a table) French fries for two!
Wow, you did all this just to see me? You must really be hung up on old Babar!
Hah! What about you? You're the one who planned his own kingnapping just to see me!
Okay, we both like each other the same. Agreed?
Just my luck, not a rhino in sight. [Looks through Telescope]
Ah, The Rhinos are attacking! [recorded battle charge sounds mid-dialogue] The Rhinos are really here!
[Young Babar roars]
[Zephir Screams]
[Scene cuts to inside the palace where Cornelius and Pompadour are reading newspaper]
[while battle charge sounds continue] I say Pompadour, isn't that the Peanut Patch alarm again?
I do believe it is Cornelius.

Zephir: You've got to believe me!
There really is a rampage this time!
Honest!
Cornelius: Oh, yes, of course there is.
Pompadour: Just like all the others.
Zephir: This is for real.
Babar is out there alone.
Cornelius: In a rhino costume?
Zephir: Don't you understand?
Babar needs our help!
Young Arthur: Boy, he sure sounded convincing.
Cornelius: The Mark of a true prankster.
Well, Babar has-- My tusks! The royal peanut patch, ruined!
No more peanut butter nouveau! [sobs] It's all because of that callous prankster!
No, Pompadour. It was my fault. It was the wrong way to teach Zephir a lesson. I should have clobbered him!
[gives chase] Stand still!
Zephir: Yikes! Yaaaaa! Babar, look. You did it, Babar. You saved a plant. [laughs] [Adult Babar]: But what a plant it turned out to be. It was healthy and strong and with all the extra attention that plant got, it yielded a whole jar of peanut butter, and that was the most delicious jar of peanut butter nouveau we have ever tasted.
Babar: Mmmm!
Pom: It must have been good.
Babar: Huh? Oh, yes, it--
[Latch clicks]
Pom, Flora and Alexander: The peanut butter poacher.
Pom: Hide.
[🎵🎵🎵]
[Alarm blaring]
Pom, Flora and Alexander: Get 'im! Yeah! Ahh!
[All gasping] Uncle Arthur?
[Babar clears throat]
Uncle Arthur: I was just doing Zephir a favour. He put me up to this. Ask him.
Zephir: Oops.
What can i say? I love the stuff.
Mmmm! Ah...
[Kids laughing]
[The children go into the basement]
Isabelle: Monster!
[Flora and Alexander] Shh!
Flora: Do we really have to go down there?
Can't we just call him from here?
Pom: What if he can't answer?
Alexander: Yeah, the monster could have eaten his mouth off.
Flora: Eww!
Pom: Pompadour! Oh, Pompadour?
Flora: You don't think there are any big bugs down here, do you?
Nah! If there were, the monster would have eaten 'em already.
Monster don't eat everything, you know.
Everything but broccoli; You've gotta respect them for that!
Okay, I want that stamp, And I want it now.
The stamp? [the stamp shows us a picture of Rataxes wearing a lady's hat] The stamp!
If I've told you once, I've told you thrice. We have no idea as to the whereabouts of your silly stamp.
Perhaps we should get while the getting's good, sir.
[Pompadour, Flora and Alexander smile]
[hands Basil the desk lamp] Not until I get that stamp. It makes me look like a fool, [off-screen] the laughing stock of the entire forest!
I should think you're used to that!
[Basil giggling]
Rataxes: Don't push me, Pachyderm.
I'm one desperate rhino.
Now I'm going to give you to the count of three to hand it over.
One... two...
Isabelle: Three!
Rataxes: What?
Pompadour: Oh, dear.
Pom: Isabelle, no!
[Rataxes picks up Isabelle]
The stamp! Oh, I could just kiss you for this, kid! [Isabelle puckers up] Er... kiss the kid for me, would you Basil?
[Basil holds Isabelle]
[Rataxes licks the stamp and sticks it to his head]
YBYoung Babar, Pompadour and Troubadour (with Zephir's voice)
Conga!
CConga
[roars as he pounds his chest, causing everyone to scream. Conga continues to roar and the camera cuts to the full moon until it fades to black with Conga's roaring echo. The scene fates to Cornelius sleeping while standing on guard in the morning]
[wakes up] Huh? I- is that you, Rataxes? What's going on?
You fell asleep and Conga crushed the camp, that's what's going on!
What?! You let Conga slip through my fingers? I could have caught him!
So that's what you're up to.
[gasps] That's right, elephant, And there's nothing you can do to stop me.
Just don't expect a ride home in my ship.
Huh? What's going on, Basil?
Forget it, Rataxes. Although it's too bad your trap didn't work.
Because of the incredible cash potential?
No. Because it could have bought us time to fix the ship and escape. Now Conga is bound to come back.
Well, we've got only one person to blame for that. Cornelius!
I'm sorry, Cornelius, but I'm inclined to agree with Rataxes. You're simply too old to be--
I am not too old! And it's high time I proved that to you.
Nice going, you guys. This wasn't Cornelius' fault at all. It was Rataxes'.
You should have relieved him on guard duty. He was up all night.
Oh, uh, yeah, well, I guess I fell asleep. It was a simple mistake, it could happen to anyone.
Even Cornelius? Tonight had nothing to do with Cornelius' age. Nobody could stay awake that long.
I feel terrible about this, sire.
Yeah, me too. What can I do to make it up to the poor guy?
You can patch this ship up as fast as you can.
Hurry up, Basil. I wanna go home!
You mean the mission's over? No more self-sacrifice for the good of mankind?
Listen, I'm all for self-sacrifice. But if there's nothing in it for me, forget it!
[The kids and Celeste get into the balloon]
Sire, I must protest! Proper protocol demands that...
Madame, please take Isabelle home. There must be something I can do to help.

[Pom, Flora and Alexander screaming] YAAAHHHH! OOF! OOF! WHOA!
AAAAAAH!!!
AAAGH! NOOOO!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!
Babar: No!
[Pom, Flora and Alexander screaming] AAAGH! AAAHHHHH!!!
Babar: We've got to save them!
Cornelius: The fire, the ambulance, the police!
Balloon Ride Operator: Wait! We can't do anything until the storm dies down.
Celeste: Cornelius.
Cornelius: Madame, please try to stay calm.
Celeste: Stay calm?!
Babar: Celeste.
Cornelius: Come on, Pompadour, Troubadour.
Celeste: Oh, Babar. They must be terrified.
They're only babies. We've got to do something.
Babar: We've going after them!
Balloon Ride Operator: No, your majesties, please! You don't understand.
Handyman: Hey, you, get away from there!
Cornelius: Up you go, Pompadour!
Pompadour: Are you sure you know what you're doing?
Handyman: You can't go up in this storm.
Cornelius: Stand aside, man!
This is a rescue mission.
Handyman: All right, All right. But you're crazy.
Pompadour: Cornelius, he says we've crazy!
All right, how do we get up there?
BRBalloon Ride Operator
But your majesties, you don't understand the dangers! The wind, the rain, the lightning!
[to the operator, angry] My children don't understand the dangers either, but they're out there just the same! And that's where my husband and I are going.
Balloon Ride Operator: Oof!
I remember when we first brought baby Isabelle home.
Oh yes, and our three darling children wanted to know if the hospital had a return policy!
