Now, if there are any more who would challenge the one musketeer, let him step forward!
[The school kids run toward him]
One at a time, one at a time!
Rataxes is going to ask for my crown, my kingdom...
I'd never thought I'd see the day when I'd be thanking you, Rataxes.
Well you three, home. And we're all going to have a long chat about this in the morning.
What a day I've had. I haven't seen so many ruffled feathers since the hurricane in flamingo land!
[to the children] Time waits for no-one, and neither does the school bus!
[The white mammoths walks through a blue background]
[voice over] There is a song, the song of the Elephants, which some say has been passed on from the time of the mammoths.
[The white mammoths kept walking and walking until they turn into snow. In the present day...]
[voice over] The world have long since been forgotten. However, the melody remains.
Not so fast, Arthur! This whole thing could've caused a serious panic. The citizens must be very concerned. I want you to dismantle everything NOW!
Pompadour: Exactly what i was going to say myself, sire.
[Zephir & Arthur] Don't pull...! The switch.
[All screaming] AAAAAHHHH!!!!!
[Trumpet fanfare]
Babar: Turn it off! The citizens will think we're under attack! Citizens of Celesteville, this is King Babar. We are not under attack!
I repeat: This is King Babar. Please stay calm. I repeat once again. We are not under attack! Please stay calm. [Celeste & Flora sighing] [Pom & Alexander giggling] Ha ha ha ha!

Celeste: Oh, I can't believe that it was just fireflies.
Babar: Believe it, Celeste. It's true.
I don't think Arthur will cry wolf again.
Celeste: Alien, you mean.
[Babar & Celeste giggling] Ha ha ha ha!
Babar: Ah... good night, Celeste.
Celeste: Good night, dear.
I can take an afternoon off once in a while. [kicks a soccer ball through the open doors, and it lands on the horn. A horn player blows hard to shoot out the ball] We can work on my model airplane, Father?
I would love to play too, Alexander, but I have a speech to give to the people of Celesteville.
But you're the king, Father. You can take an afternoon off.
Yeah, and I can get all this uniform before I choke.
Because I'm king, I must do many things that I would sometimes rather not do, children. [Alexander looks disappointed] We all have responsibilities to others. I found that out the hard way. [fades to the jungle] A very long time ago, back in the day before I was king, before there was a Celesteville, back in the days of your grandmother, my mother.
Everyone, round up the children! Head for cover quickly!
Hey! What's going on here? Whoa, wait! Where are we going, Mama?
Quickly, quickly, into the jungle! Quickly, quickly!
[The hunter shoots Babar's mother with gun fires]
[Babar and his mother fall]
[coughing] Ah! [coughing as the water drags him to the land] Mama? [coughing] Mama? Where are you? [The water splashes Babar as he coughs more] Mama?
[trumpeting]
Mama? [Cornelius picks up Babar and Babar coughs] Mama?
[last words before her death] Protect... the children, save the family!
[The hunter looks shocked where Babar's Mother charges towards him. The hunter shoots Babar's Mother with a gun and Babar's Mother steps on the gun. She shakes her head as the hunter backs away and falls to the ground as the hunter runs out of the way]
Mama! [The camera moves right upwards as the monkeys hide in the trees, then the scene fades to palm trees and the camera moves right downwards to where Babar calls his mother] Mama? Mama? Where are you? Mama? Cornelius, Have you seen my mother?
Come with me, Babar. [sheds a tear]
[Cornelius takes Babar to his mother who is already dead]
NNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!
[Babar runs to his dead mother and starts sobbing. The elephants gather around Babar and his dead mother and trumpet sadly]
And so I was alone, the family moved on away from the hunter. But before I could go with them, there was something I had to do.
There is an unknown place the birds speak of, deep in the jungle, a place far away where even the hunter would never find us. I suggest we leave for it immediately.
No! This is our home. We have to stay here.
We all feel just as you do, Babar, but I'm afraid it's a question of survival.
You have a lot to learn, Babar. We're just no match for the hunter or any like him who come from the other side.
We all have much to learn. Perhaps in time, we may get to know the nature of our enemy and then be able to stand against him, but for now, Babar.
I understand.
For now our only hope is to leave before it's too late, if he finds us now, he'll hunt us down to the last! [The gunshot is heard and the elephants panic. The hunter shots an elephant, Babar gasps and the elephants run in panic. Babar backs to the tree]
[as two elephants carry Celeste and Arthur] Run, Babar! Run!
He'll follow us! Hunt us down! All of us!
Babar! Babar! [Babar hears a gun click, gasps and sees a hunter come out through the bush. Babar screams and remembers his memories of his mother's final day]
[whistles] But how did you find them, father? Where did you go? What did you do?
[chuckles] That's another story, Alexander. It's enough to say for now that I made some wonderful friends and learned so very much along the way. Just as there are good people and bad people, there are good kings and bad kings, and one of the things that decides which we are is how we handle our responsibility to others.
[clears his throat off-screen] Uh, speaking of responsibilities.
Ah, Cornelius.
Time for your speech, Your Majesty.
Babar, are you busy?
Never too busy for you, my dear. Can we spare a minute, Cornelius?
Without question, Babar.
Take two, if you wish!
Babar, my boy, I knew you'd come back! I kept telling everyone "That Babar's just too clever for the hunter!"
Only about two thousand times… but even so, I must say it’s a relief and a pleasure to see you again, Babar.
How are you, Pompadour?
Well, taking everything that's happened into consideration, lucky to be alive. I dare say better than you. What happened? You're all green.
Oh, this? It's a suit. [takes off his jacket and holds it] See? It comes off.
[gasps] My tusks! You can shed your skin, like a snake!
Yeah, clothes are like skins you can change, and some of them itch like the Dickens.
Hmmm, they are rather attractive.
And we brought back all sorts of gifts, Mother, powder and perfume.
And creampuffs. [Pompadour comes to Babar's car, sniffs a tire and holds a gramophone's horn. As he does so, it plays music, causing him and the other elephants to scream and trumpet]
[laughs] That's a gramophone. Oh, I have so much to tell you and I'm so happy to have found you all safe and sound.
That's a matter of opinion.
We kept moving, at thinking we would find sanctuary, but now we’ve realized that no where was safe from the relentless hunter.
Not even this miserable place.
Your Highness.
You left when this trouble all started, Babar. It is good that you have returned, as we are about to put an end to it. Tomorrow we’ll stand and fight just as elephants should.
[last words before his death] Can't even find something decent to eat around here, and the hunter is closing in once again! [The elephants trumpet] We will run no further. Tomorrow at dawn, we will drive him out of the jungle! I call for an elephant stampede! [The elephants trumpet]
[to the elephants] Shh! Quietly! [Old King pulls out a mushroom and eats it]
Your Highness, this is madness! [Old King eats another mushroom] The hunter has a gun, traps! We must out-think him!
It's all very well for you to say, Babar. You’ve forgotten what it's like to live in the jungle.
You have been away in the city on the.. other side a long time, Babar.
[off-screen] The elephant stampede [on-screen] is an honorable battle tradition that goes back to the days of the Mighty Mammoths. Isn't that so, your Majesty? [The Old King growls]
Your Majesty?
[The Old King closes his eyes and falls to the ground]
My tusks! [runs to the Old King who is now dead] Your Majesty!
Cornelius, what happened?
[A mushroom rolls out of the Old King's trunk]
It's the mushrooms. They're poison.
[Cornelius, Babar, and the elephants back away]
Horrors! What can we do now?
[walks to the rock] Our illustrious king has sadly departed from us. Although he has gone to a better place, his wisdom and his courage will live on in our hearts forever. We will proceed with the old king's final wishes... Tomorrow, we stampede! [elephants trumpet] We have little choice, Babar.
It's madness. We don't stand a chance. [Babar has a sad expression]
