“Sky High Gym Battle!” · Season 7, Episode 45
In this episode: Winona (4), Ash Ketchum (2), Brock (1), May (1), Max (1)
[Before the battle commences, Winona sits down and says a prayer to the skies]
Oh great sky above, I ask you that you grant us wings. Grant us your power to conquer even the strongest of stormy winds. [Gets back on her feet] And please guide us to your great blue world and let us share its infinite power and majesty!
[Winona had just recalled her Altaria having lost to Ash's Grovyle despite a type advantage]
I must say, your strategy was excellent. You caught me completely off guard!
Gee, thanks Winona! But I'm not gonna forget that this match has just only gotten started!
That's true and don't think I part with my badges from my gym that easily!
Ash, on days that are so beautiful and clear like today, my Flying Pokemon and I are able to manifest greater power than we were able to in less perfect conditions. Those of us whose dreams reach towards the sky are loved by the sky in return.
Wow. I didn't know the sky could love you.
[Ash's Swellow is summoned and ready to fight Winona's Shiny Swellow]
I can't believe Ash's choice!
I know. It's going to be a battle of Swellow vs Swellow!
I've got to compliment you, Ash, on making it this far in our Fortree Gym Battle. I'm afraid this is where it all ends.
Shutting down that Aerial Ace attack took serious skill. Firing a Wing Attack at the ground to reveal the position of the opponent in a cloud of dust right when it was flying in was a real smart strategy!
