Are you going to be okay in there?
[confused] Yeah, why?
You just seem a little... off.
I think we're all a little off.
[Scott looks over at Kira with concern]
Maybe some of us more than others.

Are you going to be okay in there?
[confused] Yeah, why?
You just seem a little... off.
I think we're all a little off.
[Scott looks over at Kira with concern]
Maybe some of us more than others.
Wait, what happened?
When the other chimera, Lucas... When he came after us, I heard Kira say something in Japanese.
That doesn't sound too bad...
She doesn't know any Japanese!
Still not terrible.
I also think I might have stopped her from killing Lucas.
[alarmed] Okay... Wasn't he just trying to kill you, though? I mean, that just sounds like self-defense.
It was more than that. I mean, she nearly took off his head.
[anxiously] Maybe she had no choice? There's gotta be a point where self-defense is justified. Tracy killed her own father, and Lucas would have killed you.
They're not the bad guys. They're the victims. We shouldn't be killing the people we're trying to save.
[Scott, Kira, Lydia, and Stiles have just made it to Eichen House's lobby, where they approach an orderly behind the table and begin emptying their pockets into containers. The orderly sees Kira's katana-belt around her waist and frowns]
Please remove your belt and place it into the container.
[nervously] I kind of need the belt. I mean, it's crucial to the outfit.
[unamused] Please remove your belt, which patients will attempt to take from you and use to strangle themselves or others...
[alarmed] Right. Got it.
[Stiles and Lydia are almost to Valack's cell when Stiles glances at a nearby cell door and is startled to see Donovan. Panicked, he looks over again and instead finds a monstrous looking gray-skinned creature in his place. Upon reaching Valack's room, he gives Stiles a curious look]
Tell me what you just saw.
[anxiously] Me?
The creature in the previous cell-- the Sluagh. The myth is that they can take on the appearance of the lost souls that have become bound to it. Happen to have seen any lost souls, Mr. Stilinski?
Everyone down here...?
[smiles] Don't give up on us yet. We're all works in progress.
[Lydia recognizes this statement as something Peter once said and frowns]
Where did you hear that from?
Wise words from a former cellmate.
Haven't I seen you coming out of Driver's Ed?
I hope not.
I'm pretty sure I saw you destroy a couple traffic cones the other day... and nearly take out a sophomore.
[defensively] The sophomore shouldn't have been standing there!
[Stiles and Lydia are talking to Dr. Valack about The Dread Doctors book]
I wrote it because no one believed me. Because no one listened. They're here, aren't they? In Beacon Hills?
What are they?
Not entirely human-- at least, not anymore. They were scientists once. Scientists who worshiped the supernatural. Tesla said, "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration." They found their secrets in electromagnetic forces-- ways to prolong their lives, give them power, and, most importantly, making you forget you ever saw them.
What do they want?
Good question, Lydia. Everybody wants something, don't they?
Okay, so what do you want?
[Dr. Valack pulls out an audio recorder and places it in the drawer for Lydia to take]
Press record.
What do you want me to say?
I don't want you to say anything. I want you to scream.
[Stiles and Lydia are arguing about Dr. Valack's request]
No way. Not happening. Sorry.
He's the only one who knows anything!
The guy is a nut-job who drilled a hole into his head! He's probably lying his ass off!
[frustrated] How many have died so far? All of them teenagers. Am I right? Want to know how many died the first time they came here? Wonder how many will die if they succeed?
[shocked] This did happen before.
And now they're back. All because a few teenagers, who never even considered the consequences, decided to reignite a supernatural force they barely understand.
The Nemeton.
How do you even know about that?
[Dr. Valack removes the bandage around his forehead]
I know because I saw it!
[The electricity starts to flicker as Kira loses control over her powers]
Who did you come with?
Our friends...
[urgently] What are they?
[to Lydia] Don't answer.
You brought a kitsune.
What's happening?
She's disrupting the building's defenses.
What do you mean? How?
It's not just the mountain ash that keeps this building secure-- it's the electromagnetic energy. Eichen is built on the convergence of telluric currents. Ley lines. It's what allows it to keep certain supernatural creatures in, and certain others out. They knew you were coming. They're here. And you unlocked the door for them.
[Malia has just had an intense flashback to the night her adoptive mother and sister died, and Theo has just saved her before she could be hit by an oncoming car]
[dazed] It was her.
What?
It was her. She was there.
[confused] Who?
The Desert Wolf.
[Scott has just rescued himself and Kira by getting them out of Eichen house and has just collapsed onto the ground as a result of Kira shocking him repeatedly. Kira awakens and looks weak as well as she crawls over to him]
At the club... At the club, you... you said...
I remember. And I meant it.
[Stiles and Lydia have just barely missed being attacked by the Dread Doctors]
I think we're okay. Stiles?
No, it's not okay. All of this, it's on us. Everything that's happened, everything that's going to happen? It's our fault.
[horrified] It's our responsibility.
[to Malia] We never should have read that book.
[about the chimeras] These are all teenagers, right? So now shouldn't we be trying to figure out why these teenagers? If the Dread Doctors... If they went through all that, burying them, killing them, breaking one of them out of jail. They couldn't have been chosen at random.
They had to have something in common...
Something that made them right for this experiment.
Something that made them special.
Scott, I came here to find a pack. I wasn't planning on watching one fall apart.
