What happened?

I think Tutter hurt his tail.

We're playing hide and seek, Bear.

Yeah. We were playing hide and seek, and then Tutter and I, we hid behind the table and then the book, it... The book!

[spots the book that fell] The book. This one?

The book fall down on Tutter's tail, Bear. Let me move it.

Look at it, Bear! Would you look at it?

I can't look at it. Would you... [notices a tail that bent]

[shocked] It's bent!

I know it's bent, Treelo!

Oh, woe is me. A mouse with a bent tail! What could be worse, I ask you? What could be worse!

Look at all the toys...and, and games... and-and books! What is this, Bear? Some kind of an amusement park? I thought we were coming to a doctor's office!

Tutter Well, so, Doctor Hogg…

Hmm?

…what's the story?

Eh?

Well, what's wrong with my little tail?

Tutter, I think your tail has a little fracture in it.

[relaxed] Hm-hm, a fracture. Hm. [shocked] A FRACTURE?! [gasps] A fracture! Bear, I've got a fracture! Oh, it's worse than I thought! Oh…! Doctor Hogg, what's a fracture?

Oh. [chuckles] Well, Tutter, it's not too bad. It can happen to anyone. I'll use the x-ray machine and I'll show you.

[surprised] An x-ray? What's that?!

[bringing in an x-ray camera] Well, I'll show you that, too. See, this is an x-ray camera. It can take a picture of the inside of you.

What?

This time, we're taking a picture of the inside of your tail.

Really?

Mm-hm.

The inside of my tail?

[chuckles]

Boy, wow! Hey, I've never seen the inside of my tail before, Bear.

I know. Me neither.

Wh… You mean that little break?

Yep. That's what a fracture is. [Bear nods to the viewer]

Ah.

A little break in one of your bones.

Oh, okay.

If I had a dime for every time a mouse came in here with a little fracture in his tail. Well, heh-heh. I'd have a whole lot of dimes. [Bear, in confusion, Tutter and Ojo, in surprise, stare at the camera] Well, uh, because of that fracture…

Mm-hm.

…we'll have to give you a little cast.

[gasps softly] Hey. Hey, did you hear that, guys? I'm going to get a cast.

Yeah. [Tutter chuckles, but looks interested]

Doctor Hogg, what's a cast?

Oh, well…

[Soon, Tutter has a cast on his tail]

See? A cast is a special hard bandage that can set your tail in the right position.

What, you mean so it'll be straight again?

That's the idea, Tutter.

Bear, did I see a lot of little blue mice leaving your house this evening? Or were the clouds playing tricks on my eyes?

[laughs] No, Luna. There were a lot of mice today. It was the Tutter Family Reunion!

[In the kitchen, Bear sips a cup of hot cocoa]

Aaah. [to the viewer] You know, I'm still doing things a little differently today. Instead of having my usual cup of tea, I'm having a cup of nice, hot cocoa. [smells the hot cocoa] Ah. Smells delicious.

[offscreen] Bear! Bear! Ooh...

That sounds like Ojo. Ojo? [hears Ojo, who is wearing a hat and scarf, panting] Ojo? [He bumps into Ojo] Oh! Ojo, take it easy. Okay, now, just tell me what happened.

Bear, I was, I was up in the attic playing dress up, and, and, and, and, and, and…

Ojo, Ojo, easy, easy. Breathe in. [Ojo inhales] Breathe out. [Ojo exhales]

[panting] And this big old monster with wings came flying right in the window, Bear. It was awful.

A monster? Through the window?

Hmm? [Tutter was at his mousehole, holding a picture book] Oh, hey, Tutter.

What's the-- Hey, Bear. Wh-what's all the racket? I'm trying to concentrate on a picture book in here.

Oh, oh, but, Tutter, I saw a monster. [Tutter looks shocked and stares at the camera for a few seconds] He had these big brown wings and these big pointy ears, [Tutter laughs, thinking Ojo is making that up] and, and…

Oh, Ojo. Brown wings, pointy ears.

But-but-but, Tutter.

[laughs] Well, any mouse can tell you there's no such thing as monsters. [to Bear] Right, Bear?

That's right, Tutter.

[to Ojo] See? Heh-heh.

In fact, Ojo, I think you saw a little [Tutter nods] bat that flew in from the pond.

[looking in his picture book] Yeah, that's right, a little-- [gasps in shock] Bat?! Did-did-did you say "bat"?

Yeah, Tutter.

As in "flappy-flappy, eekie-eekie"?

Um… yeah. [Tutter turns to the camera in horror]

LATER! [rushes back inside his mousehole and slams the door closed]

But, Tutter, there's nothing to be…

[Tutter locks the door and Bear finishes his last two words.]

…afraid of.
