BearI don't think right now in the dark may be a good time to go swimming.
Bear[he loved the word "Stories" on a picture of a book] Stories are great! And there are so many different ways to enjoy them. Like, for example: you could read a story. [another book appears with a picture of a fire-breathing dragon by the castle] Or you could dance a story, like in a ballet! [two ballerina dancers appear in front of them] You could even draw a story! Like in a comic book! [an animated comic appears, reading "Zamo" featuring a blond man in a superhero costume] Or...hey, just listen to one! And it all starts with the beginning!
BearIt's hard to give up something they used to. But you know, you don't have to leave up all the others you love behind: like the hugs and cuddles.
BearI'm making my annual batch for everybody in Woodland Valley. That's why I have so much dough! Now, I'll just open the oven and pop them in. And now it's time to set the timer. When the timer goes "ding!", that means the cookies will be done. Everybody loves my oatmeal raisin and honey cookies. [whispers softly] Including me!
BearLet's see how those cookies are doing. [he opens the oven, and sniffs]
Bear[seeing some bushes in the living room] I've never noticed bushes in my living room before! Have you?
BearDid you know what first letter "Halloween" is? [the H flashes in white] Did you say "H"? That's right! "Halloween". Halloween is a wonderful holiday in the fall when people dress up in costumes! And you could dress up to be anything you want! Like, you could be a character from your favorite story... like, Peter Pan [releases a small fairy] or Tinker Bell. [waves his hand around] You could even dress up to be something spooky. Like a ghost! [an animated ghost appears in front of him, then pops] Boo! It's just me. And then you get to trick or treating. You know what that is, right? Oh. Well, you go around the neighborhood, you knock on doors, and you say "Trick or Treat!" and then all your friends and neighbors give you things like apples, or popcorn or candy! [some candy, popcorn or apples appear in front of him] Halloween. You can be something silly or spooky or scary because underneath it's still you.
BearWell, as I was saying, today is Ojo's birthday! And we have a lot of things planned for her, including a party! She knows all about it! Except [looks around, whispers softly] she doesn't know that Ursa is coming to the party.
BearYou could have brown hair, and like candy. [some animated candy showed up] Or, you can have red hair and love liver! [an animated liver appears, which shapes like bacon] You could be covered with orangy-brown fur and love triple berry pie! [an animated pie appears next to him] Pie.
Bear[at the radio] Lay those rhythms on me, boys!
Bear[where Ms. Vanderpreen is coming] Where did I put that vacuum cleaner?
BearNumbers help us keep track of things by counting them. [animated toys appear] For example, you count how many toys you have... [he counts] One, two-two toys. Two toys. [an animated house appears with the letter Y] And the number on Y, our house tells you where you live. [an animated ruler appears] And you are-a certain number of inches tall. [an animated cake appears with five candles] And the number of candles on your birthday cake, tell how old you are. Are you two years old? Or three? Four? Five years old? [chuckles] Or are you older? See your age is an important number to know, too. Yup. Numbers. They are everywhere!
BearYou know, when you have something that's all your own that can be very special; but sometimes, it's even nicer to share. [an animated hand appears, revealing seven blue letters] "Sharing". [views the word "Sharing" on the bottom side of the screen] Sharing is not always easy, but it's a big part of life. Because there are so many things you can share. Like, for example, you can share a snack with a friend! [an animated sandwich appears, making it half; crunching sounds are heard] Or you can share a toy. [a fire truck appears, passing in front of him] And there's lots of things that's easy to share, like a smile! [an animated smile from "I've Got Your Number" appears as well] Yeah. Sharing is great. And the best part about sharing is you are making two people happy; the person you're sharing with, and you!
BearWell, I think I shall have myself another snack. [opens the lid] I'll just reach into the... cookie jar and... [realizes there are no more cookies inside the apple-shaped cookie jar] Whoops! Looks like I'm out of cookies. I must have given my last one away. Well, um, okay. I guess I'll have a snack later. But right now, what should I do? [This gave himself an idea] I know, berry picking! I'll just find my old berry picking bucket. [grabs out a bucket] Aha! Here it is! Now we're getting somewhere!
Bear[to Pip & Pop over the clam expedition] Hold it, guys, guys, guys. Instead of arguing, I think there's a way we can do this. Were you both satisfied?
