[Zatanna makes a bunch of Robin clones-Etaerc nibor snoissuli!]
Gotta love...
An army...
Of me!
Hey, disaster averted. Feeling the aster.
(The entire league has fallen to mind-control)
Override. Batman: 0-2.
Recognized. Access granted. Vandal Savage: A-04.
(The entire league bows, except Red Arrow, who looks around)
I...I was the mole?
Yes. Yes you were.
So Tornado built this android...to party?
Not how he'd put it, but yeah, more or less.
What are you doing to Red?!
It's not how it looks.
It looks like you're downloading his consciousness into a new body.
Okay, it's pretty much exactly how it looks.
50,000 years of life, and nothing ever troubled me as much as the founding of the Justice League. Dedicated to maintaining society's calcified status quo, the League would "protect" mankind from disaster, crime, tragedy of any kind. Had you never heard of "survival of the fittest"? In essence, you "heroes" sought to protect humanity from its own glorious evolution. As such, you forced my more enlightened colleagues and myself to organize a response. We created a co-optive network of operatives. Placed key individuals in key locations. Made certain we were on the cutting edge of all new technologies: Genetic engineering, biochemical engineering, robotics, nano-robotics, even tech-no-sorcery. Not to mention every conceivable method of mind control. Cold hard science, and a little misdirection, and now you champions of stagnation have become our agents of change. Forcing the human race to evolve on a more advanced schedule. Allowing the Earth to take it's rightful place in the center of the cosmos.
Ugh...Kryptonite hurts.
That's why Batman keeps it in an overwhelmingly impenetrable vault in the Batcave...Well, more like a whelmingly penetrable vault.
Something else is wrong.
The entire League was under Savage's spell for just over a day. (Images are shown of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkwoman) We've accounted for most of that time, but these six went missing for a full 16 hours we can't account for.
16 hours? What did we do?
I'm hitting the showers.
Now that sounds like a plan, you know, for you, hermano!
Please, I don't understand you. I don't know what you want.
Translating: Interlac.
So that's how you want to play it? Fine. Contract calls for the main man to put on a show for the locals. So one more time: Surrender or die.
Contract? Show?!
Die it is, then.
Hold it, clownface! We weren't done dancing!
Keesy fem!
Yeah, yeah, "keesy fem." I've been called worse...I think?
(To Tseng) Time to die, Krolo. (Rips Tseng in half revealing a alien inside a robot)
See? See?! The big alien rips open the phony Secretary Tseng, and pulls out the little alien! Oh, I know what you're saying, folks: "Good old G. Gordon's lost it. What's this, the eight billionth time he's run that clip?" But that's because I'm trying to WAKE YOU UP! Turn and look at the person next to you, my friends. How can you be sure he or she is even human? When is the almighty Justice League going to find a way to scan for these aliens? Who exactly are they trying to protect? Okay, sure, Superman and the Manhunter from Mars seem to be on the side of the angels, but that's two aliens in the "good" column and two in the "bad". Let's see if we can get some answers!
Thanks, Gordon. This is Cat Grant at the Hall of Justice. I'm going to try and get a statement from the two newest members of the League, Zatanna and Rocket--
No comment.
Miss Grant, I've told you, the League will issue a statement soon.
[Cobert shuts the door, and Grant shrugs at the camera]
Did you see that, folks?! That was League public liaison officer Catherine Cobert, literally stonewalling GBS' own Cat Grant! What's the League hiding? We know it's providing safe haven for a Kryptonian and a Martian - but what if that's not all? What if the Amazons came from outer space, or the Atlanteans? How do we really know Flash isn't an alien? Or Hawkman? Or Icon? What are they keeping from the real Earthlings, like us?
Big guy's Lobo. He's an intergalactic bounty hunter. Big, scary, but not likely to return. The little guy's another story. That's a Krolotean. And Kroloteans always travel in packs.
Meaning more of them are on Earth.
Robin, Beetle, La'gaan, you're Gamma squad. Prep the bio-ship. You're headed to New Orleans.
Gamma always gets the soft gigs.
