Lines by Rosie 1
[Rosie arrives at Brendam Docks where the funfair/carnival special is waiting]
RRosie
This is a very long train! [couples up to the funfair/carnival special, and didn't see that Emily was already coupled up on the other end, waiting for her; thinking] Emily will be pleased. [snaps off one of the couplings of the train while huffing and puffing, heaving and hauling, and pulls half the train, leaving the rest behind with Emily] Hooray! I'm pulling the funfair/carnival special!

Hello, Thomas. What are you doing?
It's Alice's birthday. I want to get all her presents up to High Farm in good time.
[Harold arrives]
Another storm warning, I'm afraid! High winds on the way, and heavy rain! Heavy rain can cause landslides on that hilly route! [leaves]
High winds don't bother me...
RRosie
...or me. I'll come as your back engine.
No, thank you, Rosie. I can do it on my own.
RRosie
[seeing Thomas stuck] It's meeeeeee! I'll go and get help.
Wait a minute! Please, will you deliver Alice's presents for me?
RRosie
[eyes Hector] Oh! Do we have to shunt and fill that big truck, Thomas?
Yes, but he doesn't want to be shunted. His name is-
[Rosie shakes and leaves, making Thomas very cross. Thomas furiously biffs Hector to teach him a lesson]
No, I won't! You are causing confusion and delay! You really are horrid! [biffs Hector, causing him to hit a set of buffers and derails]
[rolls alongside Hector] I'm sorry if I biffed you so hard, but why don't you want to be shunted?
HHector
Because I'm scared.
HHector
I'm new, and I'm scared because haven't been filled with coal before. I don't know what it feels like. That's why I didn't want to be shunted.
[Bertie is waiting at a level crossing, carrying children to the carnival when Rosie chuffed by and he toots his horn, seeing the freight car of coconuts coming towards]
RRosie
[thinking] He's tooting at my funfair/carnival special!
[The freight car smashes against the gate and coconuts roll out everywhere, blocking the level crossing; Meanwhile… Stepney is waiting in a siding to puff on the main line as Rosie passes by and he blows his whistle when the points change and the other freight car of pink sugar is also snapped from her train, now rolling towards him]
RRosie
[thinking] He's whistling at my funfair/carnival special!
[The other freight car then crashes into him, and he is covered from funnel to footplate in pink sugar]
[Rosie arrives at Maithwaite Station, but only Sir Topham Hatt is there]
[sharply rebuking her after finding out what she had done] I told you to be Emily's back engine!
RRosie
But I wanted to pull the funfair/carnival special all on my own, sir! I wanted to help Emily!
You haven't helped anyone. You have caused confusion and delay! You left half the train. Now there'll be no funfair/carnival for the children.
RRosie
Please, sir. I know just what to do. I'm a very quick engine. I can collect all the cars. Then I will be Emily's back engine, and we will deliver the funfair/carnival special in time.
[Emily is still stuck at the bottom of Gordon's Hill until Rosie arrives with Rocky]
RRosie
I am so sorry, Emily. I only wanted to help you. Rocky will clear the line. I will collect the other cars. Then, we can deliver the funfair/carnival special together!
[pleased] Thank you, Rosie.
RRosie
[quickly collects the freight car of coconuts and a new one of pink sugar, and returns to Gordon's Hill, just as Rocky lifted the Ferris Wheel seats off the track and back onto the flatbed] I'm ready to be your back engine now.
[Later that evening, the children are all having fun at the funfair/carnival as Rosie and Emily watch]
RRosie
I hope we can work together on another special.
RRosie
Working with you is the best of all.
RRosie
Are you okay, James?
I think so. How's my paint looking? I'm really in trouble now.
You can say that again, James.
