You know the new associate, Cary?
The one in the Brioni?
[Alicia looks at him]
What? I'm observant.
Yes, the one in the Brioni. He said to me "may the best man win". What exactly does he mean by that?
What he means is something I thought we weren't making public.
What?
Look, we only have one associate position open. So we agreed to hire two applicants and, in six months, decide which one we retain.
So this is a contest between me and Cary?
It was either that or a cagematch. I'm just happy your pro bono is going well.
