Captain Rex quotes from Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Fives, Echo, and before that, Hevy. There's so many troopers...gone.

Yeah, regular folk don't understand. Sometimes in war, it's hard to be the one that survives.

Experimental unit Clone Force 99, they're defective clones with, uh...desirable mutations.

99, eh? Nice touch.

They call themselves "The Bad Batch."

We always get shot down when we travel with the 'regs'.

What took you so long, Wrecker?.

Hey, this is a "delicate operation".

Padmé

I love you, Ani.

Anakin

I love you too.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

What is Anakin doing in there?

Ah, he's spot-checking my gear, sir.

Bo-Katan Kryze

Without Maul in custody, this could all fall apart quickly. We must capture him before he escapes.

He mentioned a name: Darth Sidious. [Obi-Wan's face grows grim]

Bo-Katan Kryze

Who is this Sidious?

Obi-Wan Kenobi

I do not know much, but I will share with you what the Council knows. [Rex shoos away the droid so the conversation can be private] Darth Sidious is the Sith Lord who orchestrated the Clone Wars and played both sides of it from the beginning. I first learned the name from Count Dooku, though any chance of learning more about Sidious from Dooku has been lost.

Ahsoka Tano

Why?

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Because Count Dooku is dead. Anakin killed him while rescuing the Chancellor. With Dooku gone, we've lost a vital link to understanding the mystery of Darth Sidious. If you can capture Maul, he may be able to provide the missing pieces to this puzzle.

Then send me more men.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Unfortunately, I cannot. I'm being sent to hunt down General Grievous on Utapau.

What about Anakin? Maybe he can reinforce us? [Obi-Wan looks troubled]

Obi-Wan Kenobi

May I speak to Ashoka alone for a moment? [Bo-Katan and Rex withdraw] Anakin is on a special assignment by order of the Jedi Council.

What kind of assignment?

Obi-Wan Kenobi

He has been instructed to observe the Chancellor and report his findings.

Observe? You mean spy. They told him to spy on the Supreme Chancellor? Why?

Obi-Wan Kenobi

The Senate has allowed the Supreme Chancellor to remain in office long after his term has expired. The Council wants to know what his true intentions are.

Ahsoka Tano

The Chancellor has been a great friend and mentor to Anakin. I can’t imagine he is happy about this.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

No. He is not. So perhaps it’s best that you do speak with him.

Ahsoka Tano

[scoffs] And what? Defend the Council’s actions? I hardly think I’m the best person for that.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Ahsoka, the Council isn’t always right. That’s why I’m asking for your help. [Rex comes running over]

Sorry to interrupt, but there's been an attack.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

You had best go.

Ahsoka Tano

Tell Anakin...

Obi-Wan Kenobi

I will.

Something on your mind?

Ahsoka

As a Jedi, we were trained to be keepers of the peace, not soldiers. But all I've been since a Padawan is a soldier.

Well, I've known no other way. Gives us clones all a mixed feeling about the war. Many people wished it never happened. But without it, us clones wouldn't exist.

Ahsoka

Well, then perhaps some good has come from all of it. The Republic couldn't have asked for better soldiers, nor I a better friend.

Execute Order 66.

Yes, Lord Sidious.

Ahsoka

Rex, it's Anakin. I feel like something terrible has happened. [she notices Rex is shaking; he drops his helmet as the other clone troopers raise their blasters at her] Rex?

[to the other clones] No! I'll do it.

Ahsoka

Rex, what's happening?

[draws his pistols on her] Stay back! [struggling to speak, with tears in his eyes] Find him. Find him. Fives. Find him! FIVES!!! [Rex and the clones open fire]

We know Ahsoka Tano is on board. She's been marked for termination by Order 66. Under this directive, any and all Jedi leadership must be executed for treason against the Republic. Any soldier who does not comply with the order will also be executed for treason. Understood?

Clone Troopers

Yes, sir!

Ahsoka

Rex? Are you okay?

Yeah. Yeah, kid. I'm okay. I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I almost killed you.

Ahsoka

How widespread is this?

Ahsoka, it's all of us. The entire Grand Army of the Republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights.

Did you hear Maul also escaped?

Ahsoka

He didn't escape. I let him out.

What? Why?

Ahsoka

Diversion. Come on!

[to himself] That's one word for it.

So what do we do? Fight our way to the shuttle?

Ahsoka

There are too many. Besides, I don't wanna hurt them.

I hate to tell you this, but they don't care! This ship is going down and those soldiers-- my brothers-- are willing to die and take you and me along with them!

Ahsoka

You're a good soldier, Rex. So is every one of those men down there. They may be willing to die, but I am not the one who is going to kill them.

Hold your fire!

Hang on. We have Tano and the Commander. Send all remaining troops to my position.

I said hold your fire, Jesse! I have the situation under control.

You have your order, sir. Now execute it, or I will.

The order was to execute the Jedi for treason against the Republic. The problem is, Ahsoka Tano is no longer a Jedi. Hasn't been for some time.

Sir, you said yourself that we are under special order from Darth Sidious to eliminate Ahsoka Tano and any other clone that disobeys Order 66.

Ahsoka

Just keep them talking a little bit longer.

Jesse. Jesse, listen to me. We've known each other a long time. If we don't get this right, we will be the ones committing treason, not her.

[After thinking for a moment] Commander Rex, you're in violation of Order 66. I accuse you of treason against the Grand Army of the Republic. You'll be demoted in rank from Commander and subject to execution along with the traitor, Ahsoka Tano.

Ahsoka

Ready?

Yeah, I didn't much like being a commander, anyway.
