In the time since the virus first struck, we still have no treatment or cure.
Thragg
How many are dead?
Thragg
Do not make me ask you twice.
[Kregg pauses.]
...Billions, upon billions. But it is worse than that. With so few of us remaining, any offspring, will be inbred, and deficient. It, is the end of our race, Regent.
Thragg
No, you are wrong. We will honor our fallen. Rebuild ourselves at any cost, and destroy those who thought they could extinguish us. We are Viltrumites. We are without end.
[arrives at the throne room] Sire, if you will allow me to explain...
[slaps him] On your knees, animal!
[bows before Thragg] I-I have failed you. My arrogance led me to be defeated by the boy and his witch. Make my death painful so others may learn and grow stronger from it. [brief silence] I beg you, Grand Regent, Thragg.
Thragg
No. No, I will not reward failure. [approaches Conquest] You have work to do yet.
[Omni-Man wakes up and looks around at the place that was once considered his home planet, now standing in ruin and completely deserted, as thunder and lightning roars in the dark clouds from the gloomy skies up above.]
Thragg
It's been too long, Nolan.
What do you want, Thragg?
Thragg
Simply to talk to an old friend.
Thragg
We've always talked. Some simply chose not to listen.
Thragg
Come home, Nolan. Come home and all will be forgiven.
[Lightning clashes from above.]
We have no home. This place is a tomb.
Thragg
[enraged] VILTRUM IS NOT A TOMB! [calmly] It is who we are. We will restore it to what it was, as we will restore our people to their rightful place in the galaxy.
There's barely 40 of us left, Thragg.
Thragg
40 Viltrumites who know you better than you know yourself. Who have fought beside you. Who have suffered exactly the same way you have.
You're not my family anymore.
Thragg
But the man who almost caused our extinction is?
I know Thaedus created the Scourge Virus.
Thragg
And yet, you fight beside him. He committed genocide on his own people.
To stop us from committing it on others.
Thragg
You know we only ever did what was necessary to preserve order.
Like coming after my sons?
Thragg
We tested your sons, as we have all been tested. Do you think Thaedus will be as kind to them if he wins this war? [Omni-Man stands there in brief silence] Ah, I see you're not as naive as I feared.
Thragg
This room once echoed with thousands of voices. [places his hand on the skull of Argall] All united with the knowledge that the universe belonged to Viltrum. Argall showed us this. Taught us our true power. Thaedus... Thaedus was a coward. You know that don't you?
It doesn't change anything.
Thragg
Fighting for him is fighting for your own destruction. Your family's destruction.
I won't let him hurt my family.
Thragg
You already have.
It's over, Thragg. The entire galaxy is unified against us. But it doesn't have to end with our extinction. Agree to terms and I will stop this, no matter what Thaedus wants.
Thragg
Would our emperor ever agree to terms?
Look around, Thragg. We lost. Can't you see why this all fell?
Thragg
This is our home. We will rebuild it.
[sighs] No... You won't. [he and Thragg give each other a deathly stare down]
Thragg
The death of any Viltrumite leaves a void in me. [gathers up his strength and sends Omni-Man flying back up in space with a single punch]
Thragg
(standing firm Mark's attacks) Stop! I've done nothing to your planet... yet. But if you continue to be irrational...
Thragg
(after a moment of silence) I was made Grant Regent of Viltrum to lead our people from darkness and ensure the future of our race. It has not been easy. There are 37 of us left. Barely a whisper of who we once were. But still more than enough to tear this planet in half. It would be fair repayment for the many offences you have given us. You took our home. So our home is now here. Let me explain your future to you: we will live among you, wear your clothes, walk your streets. We will disappear within your society. Your people will never know we are here. But they will save us nonetheless, as we use them to birth our salvation. Any attempt to find us, to remove us, to thwart us, by you or the Coalition of Planets, will result in the death of billions and a... less pleasant form of life for the survivors. Either way, we will rebuild our race. Your very existence proves this is possible. In return, I offer a truce. We will not influence, affect, aid or endanger Earth in any way, as long as we are undisturbed. You do not have a choice - and yet, you must still make one. Do you and your planet accept my terms? Or do you choose annihilation for both our people?
