[snarls] You're next, Araya! I'm coming to kill you next.
Come, La Loba. Let me show you how the Calaveras die.
[Derek, who has just been reborn as a full black wolf, attacks Kate in his wolf form before transforming back into human form. Kate looks at him in shock and fear]
You were... you were dead.
No. I was evolving. Something you'll never do.
You were never an Alpha, Peter. But you were always a monster.
[Argent has caught up with Kate in the tomb of La Iglesia. Both of them are seriously wounded]
You want to kill me, Chris?
No. But, I don't want to save you anymore, either. I don't know that you're worth saving.
[hurt] Just like when we were kids. Always trying to make me the bad guy. You can't see them clearly anymore, can you? Scott's not your little hero. None of 'em are! Not when they killed Allison.
[furious] Allison died. She died saving her friends. Who would you die for, hmmm?
[angry] You're not gonna kill me. And, you're not gonna catch me. Not you. Not Peter. And not the Calaveras
[Everyone is regrouping outside of La Iglesia after the battle is over]
There's enough yellow wolfsbane to keep Peter out for the trip back. But be careful.
[Scott takes notice of the Calaveras, who are standing behind Argent]
You're really going with them?
I made a deal with the Calaveras weeks ago. They'll leave you alone. All of you. But only if I help them catch Kate.
What if you can't?
I'll find her. Someone has to.
So, you're not really a U.S. Marshal, are you?
I was... But I spent too long looking for one person. It's hard to keep a job when part of it becomes an obsession.
Who were you after?
All I know is a code name-- the Desert Wolf.
[Noshiko and Kira are meeting in Ken's office. Noshiko hands her daughter a small parcel, which she opens to find a small, black shuriken throwing star]
That shard of obsidian that you brought back, Kira? There's a reason you kept it. And a reason your father took the liberty of making an alteration to it. Do you know what it is?
[shocked] A tail.
[smiles proudly] Your first.
[Liam, Scott, and Stiles are trying to explain their extended absence to Coach Finstock]
[nervously] Then, Stiles said that Scott and Kira were stuck in Mexico, which is why they missed the game. Uh, so we went down to Mexico to drive them back from Mexico, and that's why we all missed practice. [Coach glares at him] ...'Cause... we were all in Mexico.
[to Scott] You took Kira on a date to Mexico?
[awkwardly] ...It was our first real date?
In Mexico?
...They wanted to do something special?
Okay. I believe you.
[relieved] Really?
Absolutely not. But, I've had experiences south of the border that would knock the genitals off you boys.
[to Scott and Stiles about Liam] Still, let me be clear to you two. This kid's the best talent I've seen in years. So, he's your responsibility now. You boys are gonna stick together. You're gonna look out for each other. And, you're gonna have each other's backs. You got it?
[Scott smiles at Liam, who smiles back at him]
We got it.
[Lydia visits Jordan Parrish at the Sheriff's station, where she lays a brown leather-bound book on his desk]
This used to be on a hard drive, but we eventually decided it might be a good idea to have a hard copy around. So, we put it in a book.
[confused] What is it?
It's called the Bestiary. Whatever you are, it might be in here. I'd like to help you figure it out.
[In a flash-forward, Lydia has just attempted to escape Eichen House, only to be stopped by Gabriel Valack, who has glamoured himself to look like Aiden]
Sorry, Lydia... But your treatment's not done.
Please! I have to tell them. They are all going to die. My friends... They're all going to die.
[Stiles and Scott are sitting on the hood of the Jeep at Look-Out Point as they look up at the full moon overhead]
You alright? You starting to feel it?
No. Just thinking...
About what?
Senior year.
[scoffs] Senior year? Come on, that's-that's nothing. That's going to be easy.
It's more like something Deaton told me once. You ever hear of "regression to the mean?"
No, I don't think so...
It was his way of saying that life can't ever be all good or all bad. You know, eventually things have to come back to the middle. So, think about the last few months. Things have been good, right? But not amazing.
Yeah, but no one's tried to kill us in six months, either...
Right. We've been pretty much in the middle for awhile. Which means... at some point, the scale has to tip one way or the other. Things are going to get really good again...
...Or really bad.
[Scott and Stiles are debating with Liam about whether or not to unchain him from the tree]
[to Liam] It's not that we don't trust you--
[interrupts] --It's that I don't trust you--
--But after that last full moon...
[defensively] It was one slip-up!
Slip up? A dozen calls to the Sheriff's Department about a "monstrous dog-boy" running around the streets of Beacon Hills-- naked?
[confused] Why were you naked?
[exasperated] It was really hot out that night, okay? Let me go!
You're not a werewolf, but you're something.
[Parrish groans in pain as Belasko claws through his abdomen]
Now, you're no ordinary creature, Deputy. But then, neither am I. Not tonight. I'll let you live if you answer one question-- Where is Scott McCall?
[lies] Never heard of him.
Show me your hands.
[Liam holds out his hands, which are clawed up from trying not to transform during the full moon]
[defensively] Okay, so I'm still having trouble...
[calmly] No. You're still learning. What do you do to stay focused on not changing?
[Liam shows him the earbuds to his iPod]
But it's not working.
It's working enough. Listen, Derek told me that you were one of the strongest that he'd ever seen at your age. Now, coming from him, that means a lot. It maybe means that things are gonna be harder for you for a while, but it also means something else, doesn't it?
[confused] That I'm really strong?
[smiles] Hell yeah.
