(to Klaus) You compelled her to go out with me, didn't you? (to Cami) And I thought you really liked me.
Cami
So did I.
Well, I mean, to be clear. I only compelled you to give him a chance. Anything you felt for him was quite real. And for the record, the level of awkwardness we're all currently experiencing is entirely genuine.
Cami
(pushing him back down) Be a good little boy and get back into bed.
(weakly) If I had a quid for every time a woman tried that line on me...
Cami
You'd have, like, no money.
Oh, I beg to differ. Some women actually find me quite charming.
I have a rather long list of people of people I need to track down and deal with, and at the top of that list is is a certain runaway witch.
Cami O'Connell
Maybe she doesn't want to be found.
And for good reason. Had I magically resurrected the insane vampire-hunting father of my sworn enemy, I'd be hiding, too.
[entering the room] I bet you want a new adviser right about now.
Cami O'Connell
(about Vincent) Who is he, Marcel? I mean, really?
Long story shot is... impossible.
Cami O'Connell
I checked the school website. Vincent Griffith has no other academic credentials. And, according to my Uncle Kieran's big book of New Orlean's bloodlines, Griffith is a family of witches.
Oh, it's worse than that. Your therapist has a thousand-year-old dead vampire inside of him named...Finn Mikaelson.
Cami O'Connell
(in complete shock) My advisor is Klaus' brother? Oh God, Marcel! He came into Rousseau's today asking questions about Klaus, and ordered my favorite drink like he's been watching me. Why?
Probably to get the scoop on Klaus. Or, maybe to use you as bait for a trap. I don't know. It doesn't matter. Either way, you're done with that guy.
Cami O'Connell
I'm just getting started.
Elijah and I have barely spoken since I became a hybrid. But, still, he is...
Cami
Under your skin? Well, there is no right answer to this. You just have to figure out what's best for you, and think long and hard about your decision, because you're the one who's going to have to live with it.
Cami
Why me? Out of everyone in this city?
Because you're perfect. Healthy, beautiful, smart... and alone. No one would question any personality changes. And, as I discovered from my sessions, Niklaus would never allow you to be harmed.
Cami
(furious) Fix this!!! Do something to stop this!!
I can't... Only my mother can.
Cami
I will step in front of a moving truck before I let your mother take over my body.
She wasn't preparing you for herself, Cami. She was preparing you for Rebekah.
Cami O'Connell
In cases like yours, sometimes not dwelling on the problem is more productive than examining it through the minutia of therapy, staying mentally busy instead of physically. This house, though charming, is completely falling apart.
So this is your solution. Mend the home, mend the man.
Cami O'Connell
Or we could go fishing, and I could tell you about the summer I lost my virginity.
When I invited you to meet me I had no idea we were gonna have such a gorgeous guest. [Hope is in the bar with Cami] You have blood right there.
Cami
Oh, yeah... My dry cleaning bill has been insane since moving back into town. [Vincent pours drinks] Drinking in front of a baby. New all time low?
You're the one who brought her into a bar. [Cami looks away] Ah yeah, I know that look. Sense of obligation. [They click glasses] Duty. What do you feel like you owe these people? [Cami rolls her eyes] You forgot, I have a few psychology degrees before the family you so wrapped up in stole my body.
Cami
So you're head-shrinking me now, is that it?
No, I'm trying to figure out why a smart, level-headed woman such as yourself would choose to stick around a town that to my eyes seems to offer you nothing but danger.
Cami
I'm the last of my family line, the O'Connells' have a long legacy here.
Don't feed me that legacy crap Camille. You wanna talk about legacies? My momma, her momma, and they daddy before them were some of the wickedest witches the west-side of this city has ever seen. And yet in still I'm able to walk away from magic because I know it's not good for me. Just like Nicklaus and his whole clan are not good for you, Camille.
Cami
So you're walking away? Huh? More like you're dumping your responsibilities on a teenager who doesn't know any better.
She knows better. She knows - she knows a hell of a lot more than she should. And if she's not careful, she doesn't walk the right line, she's gonna end up being the wickedest of them all, mark my words.
Cami
Then why would you leave her without a teacher?
[Smiles] Okay, fair enough, pick a fight, call me out, but... um, from one head-shrink to another, what is it that you're deflecting from yourself?
Cami
You wanna know why I stay in town?
Cami
Because, against every ounce of my better judgement, my sanity, and my common sense, turns out I have complicated feelings for a monster.
And does this monster have complicated feelings for you?
Cami
I think it's entirely possible that he does, yeah.
[Drinks down the rest of his drink] We gonna need another bottle. [Cami chuckles]
