Elijah Mikaelson quotes from The Originals

Hayley

I just told you that I am betrothed in some backwater arrangement made by people that I never knew. Tell me that you think betrothals are stupid. Tell me that I have a choice.

Elijah

(after they kiss) You will always have a choice.

Klaus Mikaelson

You chase my redemption like a man rolling a stone up an endless mountain.

Elijah Mikaelson

Well, no mountain is endless, brother. Some are just steeper than others.

Klaus Mikaelson

What could possibly be more important than the return of our mother?

Elijah Mikaelson

Our father. I saw him, standing there in the flesh as you do now. He was enslaved with some spell cast by Davina. He holds the stake. If she chooses to release him...

Klaus Mikaelson

Well, then there's only one question we need to ask, isn't there? Which of our parents do we kill first?

Esther Mikaelson

I have come to heal our family, Elijah.

Elijah Mikaelson

Well, that's a grim sentiment coming from you.

Klaus

How do you fell?

Elijah

The worst has past. Though, I suspect the nightmares are far from over.

Klaus

Well, gather your strength. After the message I sent Mother tonight, I expect hellfire to rain upon us imminently.

Cami O'Connell

In cases like yours, sometimes not dwelling on the problem is more productive than examining it through the minutia of therapy, staying mentally busy instead of physically. This house, though charming, is completely falling apart.

Elijah Mikaelson

So this is your solution. Mend the home, mend the man.

Cami O'Connell

Or we could go fishing, and I could tell you about the summer I lost my virginity.

Elijah Mikaelson

I'll mend the home.

Finn Mikaelson

Look at you, brother. You're a mess, and, as we both know, untidiness is your undoing. Tell me, do your soiled clothes serve as a reminder of your filthy memories, your many sins? Are you having bad memories now, brother, perhaps of the innocent Tatia? Or any one of the other poor souls who met their fate at your hands? That's a shame, really, because, in a way, the child is just another one of your victims. Had you the will to stand against me, you might have saved her, but because she was left under the protection of a wretch, a beast that basks in the blood of others, she will die. I suppose your little niece never really had a chance. I'd ask for a response, but I wouldn't want to taint myself with the vulgar refuse that must, even now, be flashing through your mind.

Elijah Mikaelson

Let me assure you, my mind is quite clear. Much like the gas which has pervaded every single room in this home whilst you have been ranting like the lunatic that you are. You have disgraced this family for the last time. [removes his protective ring and places his arm in the path of sunlight] Good-bye, brother.

Kol Mikaelson

I think I want to be alone for this bit.

Elijah Mikaelson

I'm afraid that's not an option.

Klaus Mikaelson

Always and forever is not just something weasel out of, brother.

Sophisticated, huh? I suppose you want me in a dress.

Elijah Mikaelson

We should adapt for our audience, yes.

And you? Dark suit on the left side of your closet or identical dark suit on the right?

Elijah Mikaelson

I prefer the one in the middle, thank you so much.

Since your family has returned to this city, our elders have been murdered, promising young witches have been inhabited against their wills.

Elijah Mikaelson

And I can put an end to all of it.

With all due respect, I can believe that as much as I believe I will play my violin again someday because, Mr. Mikaelson, beneath your formal attire and behind the lovely Beethoven, you are all the same: liars, monsters wearing the skins of humans.

Freya Mikaelson

She's paranoid, obsessed with power. She hungers constantly for what's been denied her, be it love or revenge.

Elijah Mikaelson

[looking at Klaus] Yes. I think I'm familiar with the type.

Vincent Griffith

Vincent Griffith. I would say, "at your service," but, uh, that implies I had a choice in the matter.

Rebekah

Oh, he's witty. Wonderful. Now I hear you have some information for me.

Vincent

Just... give me a second. [stares at Rebekka and chuckles] When they put Eva in the Falling Cottage I never thought I'd see her again.

Elijah

How is it, exactly, that you knew Ms Sinclair?

Vincent

She was my wife.

Rebekah

Well, that is bloody fantastic.

Elijah Mikaelson

We came here to honor the alliance between us. If this is something you wish to rescind, so be it.

Don't you dare walk into my house and threaten me. I am not the one that needs you, Elijah Mikaelson. It is you who needs us, or you will soon enough. There's a storm coming, Cherie, and your darkest demons ride upon it. I do not know its name, but when I peer into your future, there is a blackness That should terrify you.

Rebekah

[flipping through records] Who goes to a jazz club with no bloody jazz?

Vincent

Do you mind? I'm trying to reverse a very complicated sacrifice spell and you whining about jazz is not helping me.

Elijah

I'm afraid we have more pressing concerns.
