Avasarala in “Unfinished Business”

Avasarala

My fellow citizens. Our fate as a nation has been sorely tested. But the arrest of the traitor, Errinwright, and the resignation of Secretary-General, Sorrento-Gillis, whom we thank for his service, has given us the opportunity to choose a new future. Many fought for us to get here. Many died. We have lost people we loved, and have suffered. We would be justified to seek vengeance. But instead, we will choose peace We must choose peace. For we have arrived at the dawn of a new era, and are witness to an event unlike anything else in the history of our species. But peace is a fragile thing. So I'm asking you to join me and join hands with our brothers and sisters throughout the system Earth, Mars, and the Belt And dedicate ourselves to being one people with a shared purpose. And as we have always done in the past, we will face the unknown together.
