Eggman, how dare you show your face! I'm not going to let you get away this time! [He chases after Eggman towards Final Egg, stopping at the hidden entrance of the base, with Eggman's face emblem on it.] When did he have time to build this base?
[He spins towards the entrance with the screen flashing white as he breaks in, creating a hole through the front doors. This causes a red alert to Eggman, having seen Sonic intruding his territory as red lights and alarms go off.]
SSonic
[turning to the screen] Oh yeah!
[He breaks the screen, causing it to go static. Eggman then starts to make traps to stop his nemesis.]
I'll make you regret coming here.
[He presses a switch that activates laser traps, which Sonic dodges with his speed.]
SSonic
[smirking over a set of blue-grey speed lines] Can you keep up with me?
[He continues charging forward.]
This is only the beginning. [He presses another switch, activating hidden rollers from the floor, preventing Sonic from running any further. The Overlander laughs, then presses a third switch, sending a rolling steel ball towards the Blue Blur.] I'll flatten you like dried squid, Sonic! [He laughs as the steel ball rolls closer towards a sweat-dropping Sonic, who takes notice of the steel ball behind him and starts spinning as the ball makes contact with the spinning Mobian hedgehog. Sparks fly as the steel ball attempts to flatten Sonic, but sends him down the corridor and out of harm's way, much to the mad scientist's fury.] You punk! In that case, we're fighting in midair!
[He slams his fists on the control panel in frustration.]
[After the Big Foot and Hot Shot Eyecatch Cards, we get a view of the city at night, before Sonic emerges from the sewers and grabs the manhole while in the air as GUN Beetles also emerge, chasing after our hero. Sonic then dives down against the robots with the manhole cover.]
[After wiping out the Beetles, he puts the manhole cover back on.]

That takes care of that!
[Then, a light shines down on him as a F-6t Big Foot robot floats down and confronts him. Unlike Sonic Adventure 2, the game this saga is based on, there is no human piloting this mech.]
SSonic
Heh! The star makes its entrance. [takes out a Ring] Then I'll also use this!
[The Big Foot starts firing at the Blue Blur, who dodges the bullets fired at him.]
SSonic
It's pointless! I can see the bullets!
[He then jumps up and uses the Ring, then spins towards the robot, taking out its light before landing on the other side behind it.]
[The Big Foot then fires rockets at the hedgehog, who runs up a Pupupi Poo building as the rockets chase after him. Sonic then jumps down and at the robot, then jumps off as the rockets hit the robot, destroying the GUN mech as Sonic lands a distance away from the explosion.]
SSonic
[smirks] For a star, you lost pretty quickly.
[Then, as the smoke clears, a yellow glow appears on top of the destroyed Big Foot GUN robot, catching Sonic's attention as he looks in surprise. As the glow stops glowing, Shadow emerges.]
[looking at Sonic] I see. We actually do look alike. It's like looking in a mirror.
SSonic
So you're the one who's pretending to be me and causing chaos everywhere. You impostor! [lunges at Shadow]
SSonic
We all knew this would be the outcome. [Suddenly, he hears rumbling from the other side, catching his attention.] What?
[off-screen, fighting GUN robots] You idiots! I'm not Sonic! [A GUN Hunter goes down on its butt after a punch. The red echidna takes out a few more robots before Sonic shows up and wipes out a GUN Beetle.] Sonic?
SSonic
Long time no see, Knuckles.
I'll be the one to defeat them. You stay out of it!
[In another set of grey speed lines, Knuckles seemingly launches himself at Sonic, who hold his hands up.]
SSonic
Hey now! [He jumps out of harm's way, but Knuckles is revealed to have launched himself at another GUN Hunter and punches it backwards, knocking it on its back.] It looks like you're better at assessing the situation than before.
[More GUN robots appear to try and eliminate Sonic and Knuckles, who work together to battle against them since Sonic's innocence is yet to be proven. Sonic destroys a GUN Beetle while Knuckles wipes out four robots. Sonic then body slams a GUN Hunter before spinning another robot round and round. Knuckles then kicks a GUN Hawk while Sonic slams another GUN Hunter with both his fists. But more GUN robots just keep coming with no end in sight in their relentless pursuit of the Speed-Type and Power-Type Mobian members of Team Sonic.]
[punching four more GUN Hawks] Damn! There's no end to them!
[In the ARK's hangar bay, Rouge is sitting inside a space shuttle, speaking to Topaz over radio. She is furiously typing something at the ship's console.]
[on radio] Aww, you were worried about me?
TTopaz
[on radio] The way our transmission was cut off, of course I was!
[Suddenly the ground shakes, and she flinches. She looks up in alarm as Sonic and Shadow are still fighting on the conveyor belts, which have since stopped moving since Sonic used the fake Emerald to destroy it from the inside. Both hedgehogs charge at each other, creating a massive explosion that damages the inside of the cannon further. Sonic looks up to see a Power Ring in a hole that was just created in the wall.]
You've interfered for the last time! It's about time I finish this!
[He jumps into the air, then throws more Chaos Spears at Sonic, who outruns them before he leaps up and grabs the ring.]
[He smirks over his shoulder at Shadow as he absorbs the ring's power, then uses a ring-powered home attack on Shadow, knocking him flat on his back on the ground below. Sonic lands several feet away from him.]
SSonic
Too bad. Now it's all over!
[sits up and smirks] We'll see about that. [They then feel the same tremors as Rouge felt.] Maria, it's time!
[He flees through the hole in the hall.]
SSSuper Shadow
I'm Shadow! Shadow the Hedgehog! [He removes his Limiter Rings to power himself up to maximum power as Crush 40's "Live and Learn" from the game Sonic Adventure 2 begins playing. to Sonic] Can you hear me?
SSSuper Sonic
[to Shadow] Yeah! [He powers himself up to save the world once again.] I hear you!
[Both hedgehogs power up to stop Gerald's doomsday revenge plan once and for all!]

Chaos! Control!
[The ARK is engulfed in a blinding white light.]

[The screen flashes white as Sonic and Shadow save the world from destruction, albeit at the presumed cost of Shadow's life. The white flash fades.]

[The ARK is placed back into its proper position.]

Hey look, Cream. Someone's here to see ya.
[Cream turns around and sees who it is.]

I've finally found... my baby!
[Cream is overwhelmed.]
[They embrace in a big hug.]
[The others watch the joyful reunion.]
[To Sonic] Cream's mother.
[Amy is at Cream's house with Cream sleeping on her lap. She looks from the window and sees Super Sonic flying. She comes out and runs after him. Super Sonic lands in front of Amy's house and returns to normal. Amy arrives as dawn breaks. She pants.]
What took you so long!? I was worried!! I wondered if you were ever going to come back. [tears up.] It scared me to think that... I was never gonna see you again. [Sonic smiles nonetheless.] Day after day I waited for you to come, but you never did. I didn't know where you were. I couldn't stand not knowing. [Her tears flow.] I told myself I should give up hoping. I was convinced that you'd forgotten about me. I thought you were gone forever. [Sniffles] But then I realized that you would never abandon me, and I decided that I would wait for you. Even if it took the rest of my life to see you again. Now you're here. [Falls down on her knees] I'm so glad to have you finally back, Sonic, it's such a wonderful feeling!! I don't think I've ever been as happy as I am right now!!! [Cries] Don't you ever leave me again, Sonic the Hedgehog! [Cries quietly]

[holding a rose winks at her] Don't you worry Amy, I never will.
[Amy hugs Sonic, with tears of joy. Sonic takes the hug, with a mix of joy and awkwardness.]
[The episode, season and Metarex Saga begin with a view from outer space from outside the planet Mobius. After a few seconds pass, we see Sonic in his super form, in the form of a golden light, zipping through space in all directions. Explosions are then seen in the form of small lights before they fade. The scene fades into the wreckage of some robots, which are very different than that of Eggman's robots. Sonic appears via teleporting, similar to Shadow. He pants after wiping out the hoard of robots and grabs his left arm while smirking with his usual flair.]

[in his mind] He's tougher than I thought. I may have fooled around too much. I'd better finish this.
DODark Oak
Your defeat is certain. Give me the Chaos Emeralds and I will spare your life.
[Without any choice, Sonic spreads his hands out to let the Chaos Emeralds orbit around him.]

Chaos Control!
[The Chaos Emeralds start glowing in response. Dark Oak watches this as Sonic scatters the Emeralds across the universe, but at the cost of his super form without the power of the Emeralds, thus causing him to faint and fall down to Mobius. Dark Oak then sees the damage he absorbed on his left hip from Sonic as red sparks billow. He chuckles evilly.]
DODark Oak
My odds of winning are low if I directly confront him. [He begins to broadcast a message through the entire universe.] This is a message to everyone in the galaxy. The Chaos Emeralds have scattered in all directions. Find and gather them. This is top priority. [Several red eyes flash behind him, showing more of his army, known as the Metarex. He then flies away from Mobius as he continues to contact the rest of his army.] My strategy is proceeding to Phase 2. Dispatch the assault team. [He disappears in a red twinkle.] Capture the Planet Egg from the designated world and begin the seed.
[Something then begins to descend towards Mobius to steal the Planet Egg. Meanwhile, while Sonic continues to unconsciously plummet back to Mobius, he reverts to his normal form and is engulfed in flames as he enters his home planet's orbit and disappears in a white twinkle when he completely enters Mobius. The 53rd episode title card "The Messenger from the Meteor Shower" is shown in the Japanese version, while the English version plays the "Gotta Go Fast" intro theme song.]

ARE YOU CRAZY?! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?!

I guess we're gonna have to find them again!
Oh no! THE MASTER EMERALD'S GONE!!!
[Chris is seated in a chair, carefully loading the Master Emerald into position. Tails supervises from the cockpit of the Blue Typhoon.]
The readings look good, Chris.
The Master Emerald oughta give us enough power to go interstellar!
[angry, offscreen] HEY! [The group turns to see him run in.] What's the idea?!
SSonic
We're gonna borrow your Master Emerald for a little while.
No way! It goes back where it was!
But we need it to go into outer space.
[Incredulous] Outer space?
We have to find the seven Chaos Emeralds so we have enough power to defeat Metarex.
We're going to travel across the galaxy, battle Metarex and save planets! Doesn't it sound like the best adventure ever?
[shuts his eyes, shaking in stress] It sounds just peachy.
[to Sonic, shouting] Now gimme back that Emerald, Sonic, or I'll come up there and take it!
[shakes in fury] Listen to you! You should be ashamed!
The fate of the entire galaxy is at stake!
[Knuckles cowers back as Amy approaches him holding her hammer.]
But if you won't listen to reason... maybe I could knock some reason into you. It'd be a pleasure. [Her eye twinkles dangerously.]
H-Hey, let's calm down... [Amy inches forward again. Then she, Cream and Cosmo begin aggravating the poor echidna, panicking] Sonic, please help me!
SSonic
I'd like to, but I don't get involved in fights I can't win. You're on your own. [wink]
Amy's ship didn't make it!
SSonic
We'll pick them up on the way back. Are you detecting the Chaos Emeralds?
SSSuper Shadow
[smirks] I see. How we look isn't our only similarity. [Sonic glares at him.] You annoying hedgehog, give me the Chaos Emeralds!
[Shadow's theme starts playing.]
SSSuper Sonic
What are you going to do when you collect the Chaos Emeralds? [Shadow doesn't answer.] So you're just following orders again. [smirks] You're no Ultimate Life Form!
[Angered at that insult, Shadow attacks Sonic and the two super hedgehogs start fighting.]
SSonic
What's going on? They made so many fakes. [He suddenly clutches his chest and starts shivering, feeling uneasy at the amount of Fake Emeralds and their negative Chaos Energy.] Their glow is eerie.
BNBlack Narcissus
[off-screen, to Sonic] How long do you plan to stay there? [Sonic looks up as soon as he hears his voice from above.] I'm over here. Come up here. [Sonic does so and confronts the Metarex Commander, who chuckles upon meeting the Blue Blur.] I've been waiting for you. Sonic, the one who controls the light of Chaos.
SSonic
[smirking] I'm sorry that I broke your base. I didn't know where the entrance was. [lowers his head while still eyeing Narcissus] And I had more urgent business.
BNBlack Narcissus
No problem. Besides, I wanted to see if the Sonic Driver's power matched our data. I'm surprised. [The camera cuts to the hole Sonic made while breaking into the base while spinning, from the view of his feet, viewer's right.] According to our calculations, you were supposed to stop in this room. However...
SSonic
[still smirking] Sorry, but everyone's waiting for me to come home. [raises his head] Give me back my two friends.
If it's the same Plasma Shield as before, we should be able to beat it the same way! Ring Road!
[He fires the Ring Road at Zelkova while he battles Knuckles as the Radical Highway theme song, "Vengeance is Mine" from the game Sonic Adventure 2 starts playing.]

Wait, Shadow. [He gets up, smirking.] You better have a good explanation for this.
[Shadow raises an eyebrow at the Blue Blur while bearing down on him, then, without saying a word, he charges at Sonic, who counters and the two hedgehogs start scuffling with neither of the pincushions able to gain the upper hand as they growl and glare at each other, teeth clenched. Tails then comes rushing in.]
