Clark and Lex in “Unfinished Business”

Clark

Did you do this?

Lex

What possible reason would I have to ransack the office of an obscure teaching assistant?

Clark

Then tell me why you're here.

Lex

You first.

Clark

Jeremiah was gonna help me with a term paper.

Lex

Term paper. So your visit doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he went ballistic in the caves last night and absconded with a sacred Kawatche artifact.

Clark

I didn't know.

Lex

I'm surprised. I mean, you usually keep such a close eye on everything that happens in the caves... for those term papers you're always writing.
