Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami in “Unfinished Business”

Shinji Ikari

Do I really have to pilot Eva again?

Rei Ayanami

Yes, you do.

Shinji Ikari

Uh, I don’t want to! You can be so cool about it because you haven’t had the kind of experiences I had yet! I don’t want to go through it again!

Rei Ayanami

Then you can just stay here in bed.

Shinji Ikari

What do you mean by that?

Rei Ayanami

I will pilot Eva Unit 1. Dr. Akagi has already prepared to rewrite the personal data files for Unit 1.

Shinji Ikari

Ritsuko is?

Rei Ayanami

Captain Katsuragi and Dr. Akagi will be waiting for me in the cage.

Shinji Ikari

Uh, hey…

Rei Ayanami

Goodbye.
