How do you feel?
About finding him?
Yeah.
Frankel, a couple of nights before Hackman killed him, we stopped into this bar on the way home and Frankel saw a guy in there he'd been trying to put away a couple times on rape charges. The guy had beaten him both times. Frankel said he wanted to take him out in the alley and beat the living hell out of him. He said he figured if he felt that way, maybe he had a year left in him as a good cop. I promised myself I'd quit before I got to that point. I hope it's not happening.
Looks like we're even.
Even? No. Not even close.
I guess I'm busted. You enjoying your stay on the island? How do you like the place? Took me a few weeks to get everything set up, you know. I had to figure out where I wanted to retire, find a house, furnish it, get some of my stuff sent down. I'd hate to leave. I'm just getting comfortable.
Get up.
I'm afraid I got other plans, Crockett. Plans I made with the local judge and the police, which involve their pensions. See, I'm really a very altruistic guy.
Get up.
No way. No way, I sure as hell know the same way you couldn't let an innocent man be executed, that you can't shoot an unarmed man.
(Shoots him) Wrong.
