Fruits Basket
All S1

My mom told me, it's better to trust people than to doubt them. She said that people aren't born with kind hearts. When we're born, all we have are desires for food and material things. Selfish instincts, I guess. But she said that kindness is something that grows inside of each person's body, but it's up to us to nurture that kindness in our hearts. That's why kindness is different for every person. We're all born with selfish desires, so we can all relate to those feelings in others. It's not always easy to see the good in people. In some people, you might even doubt that it's there at all. But if you can somehow, find a way to believe...sometimes that's all it takes to help someone, to give them the strength to find the good in themselves.

As they played the game...I waited for someone to call "onigiri." But no one called. I was very little then. I had almost forgotten about that. But they knew...there would never be room for an onigiri...in a fruits basket.

If I don't do it... that stupid cat will never let me hear the end of it...

Don't...call her Tohru-kun like you're her friend. Lowlife.

They say that we should love ourselves first before other people learn to love us, but it's not as easy as it seems. Sometimes, we need someone to love us and accept us first, then we would earn to see ourselves through that person's eyes and learn to love ourselves.

It's okay to feel weak sometimes. It's okay to be afraid. The important thing is that we face our fears. That's...that's what makes us strong.

Yo... Are you ready for me to break your neck... Rat-boy?

I'm gonna take my place as a true member of this family!

Someday...I'll be the kind of guy...who's worthy...of calling you...my dad!

Be selfish, say what you want once in a while. It's okay to let yourself be sad.
