[after Richard returns late from his would-be suicidal trip into the woods on Memorial Day]
Where were you today?
Needed to take a walk.
I should've gone with you.
We're both back now.
You up for a job tonight?
[Richard just looks at him]
Is there a problem, Richard?
[haltingly] Would you... fight for me?
[walks over to him; with intensity] Of course I would. Right down to the last bullet.
[near tears] Then let's go to work.
